CINETV: I recommend the Series: The Serpent (2021)

in Movies & TV Shows3 years ago

Hi excited to participate in the new community, https://www.cinetv.io/ I am a lover of movies and series, is one of my favorite hobbies for years, is countless the amount I've seen, I like them in their original language with subtitles.

Something I can't stand is that they reveal the complete plot, I don't watch the trailers either because they have the habit of showing key moments, but I like to read the recommendations.

I got to know this wonderful Community thanks to a post by @offgridlife I immediately fell in love with the concept.

I am not a movie critic, but it is my favorite hobby, so I would like to recommend movies and series. I will present a short summary, easy to read and most importantly without spoilers.

For my first post in the Community I chose a series of the year 2021:

¿Who is Charles Sobhraj? is a serial killer of young backpackers who stalked his victims in India, Thailand and Nepal between the 60's and 70's, he used to gain the trust of his victims because of his charismatic personality as a businessman. Known as the Bikini Killerbecause his victims were dressed in Bikinis and the Snake for his constant escapes.

The serpent - (2021)

Crime, Drama Thriller (08 episodes)
Directed by:
Hans Herbots and
Tom Shankland
: ( House of the Cards, The Missing)
Starring :
Tahar Rahim, Billy Howle, Jenna Coleman.

The twisting, real-life story of Charles Sobhraj, a murderer, thief and seductive master of disguise, who was a hidden darkness in the mid-70's on Asia's hippie trail. Idmb

Narcissistic, selfish, manipulative, murderous and with a huge need for acceptance this is how actor Tahar Rahimportrays Charles Sobhraj his character, his coldness and indifference catch you from the first moment, actress Jenna Colemangives life to Marie-Andrée Leclerc his sentimental partner, manages to give us a brilliant performance despite her problem to pronounce the French language.

The series is set in time travel from the first chapter, this may confuse you, my advice is to stay! because the intensity of the plot catches you, the atmosphere of the film is from the 70's as well as the costumes.

In the first chapter we are already shown the modus operandi of the Sobhraj and we are introduced to his antagonist, the diplomat Herman Knippenberg.

From the second chapter that unveils Marie-Andrée Leclerc, the plot intensifies with the arrival of several characters such as the young Nadine, Ajay Chowdhury Sorbhraj accomplice, personally this chapter hooked me to continue until the end.

My favorite character is played by actor Billy Howle as the diplomat Herman, I liked his tenacity and his conviction to clarify the murders and bring him to justice, even if this causes him a family drama.

It is a true story, tragic for the number of young people who died because of this predator. It is well directed with very good performances, a series that I recommend if you like the crime genre.
