RE: The Gray Man : Mainstream movie without soul | Film Review [En - Es]

I like a lot of films with Ryan Gosling in, I think he's really talented. But he disappeared for a while (I believe it was to focus on raising his kids, so that makes sense). When I saw he was returning a bit and then saw the trailer for this film, I really did not expect it to do well. I don't think he fits that role at all.

I like a lot of Ryan Gosling movies too, in different genres, including one that was a romantic drama, Blue Valentine, which I think is an excellent movie about the breakup of a couple and the loss of love.

The Gray Man has Chris Evans as the villain, but a very cartoonish villain. If we put costumes on the characters, it would be just another superhero movie, totally empty.

Movie that Netflix wants to turn into a franchise at all costs, they already confirmed sequel and spin off.

I think that alone says enough about the film to give someone a general idea of what it's like.

Yeah I think they're getting a bit desperate to find something that lets them stand out again, other streaming giants have more rights to existing franchises whereas Netflix has to license them all. Going forward they definitely need to find the next 'Squid Game' creations to compete.
