Don’t power up all of your rewards

You could be missing out on extra HIVE

Change your blog / comment post rewards to 50% HBD / 50% HP instead of 100% Power Up. You can currently earn more HIVE this way.

HBD is valued at $2 currently and this means that we have an opportunity to earn twice as much HIVE. This of course is thanks to HBD being valued above it’s $1 peg.

You can use your 50% HBD portion of post / comment rewards to buy more HIVE than you would earn if you were set to 100% Power Up.

60 HP instead of 40 HP

Last night I redeemed my rewards for my once a day blog post. If my account settings would have been set to 100% Power Up, then I would have received approximately 40 HIVE (which would have been powered up right away.)

Instead I have my settings set to 50% HBD / 50% HP, so I received 20 HP and 12 HBD as my reward. Since the HBD was valued at $2 instead of its usual $1 peg, I was able to go to the internal market and buy about 40 HIVE with my 12 HBD worth $24.

If I were to power up that 40 HIVE, then it would be a total of 60 HP instead of the other option of receiving 40 HP.

If HBD were to ever be valued under $1, then it would make more sense to do 100% HP. To reiterate things, anytime that HBD is trading over $1 you are going to get more bang for you buck.

How to adjust your settings

I’ve provided simple instructions on how you can adjust your reward settings on both PeakD⬆️ and Hive.blog⬇️

Did you have to change your settings?

It is important to stay on top of what opportunities are available. It’s as simple as paying attention to whether HBD is trading above or below $1. In my personal opinion, I do recommend powering up your extra HIVE after you buy it with HBD.

Someone pointed this out to me on STEEM where SBD is $8

You'd really be taking a blow doing 100% Power Up over there.

I was. I took it deep for the past couple months. #BallsDeep

Noooooo. That's tough. I haven't posted over there in ages. Don't plan to either.

In my personal opinion, I do recommend powering up your extra HIVE after you buy it with HBD.

Nowadays I am holding HBD. I am waiting for a price jump upwards. SBD relatively often goes up close to $10.

Maybe holding HBD and waiting is a better idea than selling it now for Hive.

That’s a great point

I’ve held HBD for months before, but I have yet to see it surpass $4. I know that SBD has hit nearly $17 before... I see what’s possible. HIVE has much greater potential to multiply at a high degree, HBD has a system stacked against it’s growth.

I have told myself that it’s better to buy as much HIVE as possible each day, because you never know when it will finally pump to $1, $5, $25, $50, $100, $1000 and reach mass adoption. There are some signs that will show, but it’s still hard to have the foresight. I want to have my account growing as quickly as possible.

Think about the curation rewards you’re missing out on by having all of that potential HP sit on the sidelines. Holding HBD is a high risk with high reward. Buying HIVE with HBD is low risk with fair to life changing rewards.

Great advice sir, I have set that to 50/50 😁🙏

Good to know that you are setup for the best outcome right now.

yes I hope The HBD will pump and we all can get a good enough hive with that

I didn't need to change my settings as they've always been at the 50/50 payout. I have a little HBD and had just been letting it grow, but this post reminded me that I might want to take some and turn it into more HIVE. Thanks for the reminder! :)

There was a period not too long ago that HBD was under $1. During that time we were losing potential HIVE if we were not doing 100% power up.

That's awesome! Being new on here I'm still learning how it all works and these articles greatly help! Would the only point you would want to do a 100% powerup be when HBD is $1 ?

≤ 1$

If HBD is less than one dollar, then you will earn more HIVE with 100% Power Up since 1 HBD would only buy you 99% or less of the HIVE portion of your 50% / 50% rewards.

That's right, as long as it stays at this price it is better 50-50.

At least this is pretty easy to monitor.

Thanks for the great observation @daltono. It's pretty helpful. I never knew setting post reward to 50/50 will be as beneficial as this. Great tips👍

Very happy to assist.

Yes, selling 50% HIVE and 50% HBD gives the best rewards from a post. Buying HIVE with HBD can get anyone more HIVE as long as HBD price is more than $1.

You know the deal.

Hey @daltono
Sorry to jump in with an off-topic comment.
I'm looking for support for HiveSQL. While "approved", the proposal is now unfunded because of the @hbdstabilizer consuming all DHF daily budget.

Do you mind voting for the HiveSQL proposal so it can stay free to use for all devs and users?
Thank you!

Supported.

Much appreciated! ❤️👍

HBD peg is becoming a joke

We need to find a sustainable solution

Last night on Discord @acidyo was discussing a potential HIVE to HBD conversion option that may become available after and upcoming hardfork. Possible solution, at least until another obstacle arises.

We can already convert HIVE to HBD in our internal market right ?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes. But I meant like the 3.5 day HBD to HIVE conversion that we currently have. Not related to the internal market.

Got it dude.

Thanks for confirming.

This is how I leave my settings all of the time. It seems to work out pretty well for me. It has been really great lately with the high price of HBD. Thanks for crunching the numbers for us on this!

It's fun to see exactly how much of a difference it makes to take the extra step of buying with the overvalued HBD.

For sure!

es un buen consejo. Creo que me servirá muchisimo.

Estoy encantado de ayudarlo y alertarle sobre más formas de tener éxito.

This is what we do, steadily heading for 7K using this method, it's an interesting time for crypto generally too, so much of our portfolio has rocketed up.

This is a good method to help accelerate your growth right now. Portfolio is looking beefy for me too, but I'm nowhere near satisfied with the overall wealth value. I need moreeeee

hola @daltono , como verás soy nueva en esta plataforma, me dio gusto leer tu post y meditar en tus consejos, lo consideraré.

Hi friend @daltono

I found your publication very interesting.

The truth is that we do not know how to use the relationships between Hp, Hive and HBD well. It is important to learn how to make them perform at their best.

Thank you for providing us with this information.

A hug

There is a lot of confusing information, for newcomers to blockchain especially.

🤗 happy to help when I can.
