Market Cap Math

Last night I went down a rabbit hole visualizing my future. It is easy for me to picture in my mind how I want my life to be. Sometimes it becomes useful to add some math into the picture, in order to better validate my ideas.

It may seem insane to tell myself that one day I will have $50 million and each HIVE will be worth about $800. It starts to look a lot more realistic when you take things that are already true and compare them with this fantastical future of mine.

When comparing the market cap of Ethereum and Hive, some interesting numbers come up. If Ethereum was able to grow to the many billions that it is today, then surely Hive can at least match that -- perhaps more. This is especially true considering cryptocurrency as a whole is still in it's infancy.

Today on 04/17/21 ETH's market cap is about $283 billion. HIVE's is about $214 million. That makes ETH approximately 1322 times larger than HIVE.

During these next few years of major growth, we must also remember that Ethereum itself and so many other cryptocurrencies will likely be going up in value to some degree. The entire market cap of crypto as a whole is about $2 trillion right now. Think what things will be like when that number explodes to $100 trillion. The time is coming, patience will allow you to make it to this future.
