Videos Increase Engagement.jpg

Videos may be the way 🤔🎥

I've started to get a decent feel for posting videos daily. This is now my 12th video since committing to posting videos regularly on 3Speak. For one, I love it! Besides being happy with what I get to create and share here daily, I also have noticed one major thing about it. Other people seem to enjoy these videos I'm making a whole lot more than they did any of my other content. I've been getting way more comments and I couldn't be happier with how engagement is going.

In the past, I have been a frequent poster of longer written content in the form of blogs, shorter written content paired with a lot of photography on Liketu, and even gameplay videos from my PS5 to YouTube with voiceovers of myself while playing. I love each type of post that I just mentioned, but I don't think I enjoy any of them nearly as much as I do these walk-and-talk vlogs.

I'm personally fulfilled by making videos and I'm also seeing the number of comments that my posts receive increase tremendously. I had grown pretty used to getting less than 10 comments always on other styles of posting. Here lately it has been more like 20 and even upwards of 50 comments per post. This to me is a clear sign that I should keep doing what I am doing.

In today's video, I wanted to share with you some advice on why I think posting videos may be your best bet to succeed as a content creator here on Hive. We see people like @taskmaster4450 who are incredibly successful here and he's been doing daily videos for the longest time. I am looking to do something similar, but also put my own spin on it. Everyone here is going to go about things in a slightly different way and that is just fine and dandy.

I hope that you find a few useful things in today's video, there are all sorts of things that I go over. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to drop a comment afterward if you want to get a conversation going. I am always happy to get back to any and everyone who engages with me.

Take care you all and I'll see you in another video tomorrow where I will be providing a tutorial on how to use the Hive internal market to buy/sell HIVE/HBD.

You're doing a great job with these videos man. Seeing you walk in the videos energizes me and makes me feel good and I have a lot of fun watching them. You're the only person on Hive that I follow regularly and I enjoy your posts and videos at the same time every day. After I buy a new phone, maybe I can start doing this too.

I appreciate you letting me know what you think and watching all of these. Getting up and doing this earth is such a great way to get the day started. I often struggle to pull myself away from what I'm used to watching on YouTube, so I know that you actually finding some enjoyment from my videos over here is a big deal. I hope you can start making videos when the time is right. I bet you'd have a lot of fun with it too.

Your videos are quiet engaging Dalton, am loving seeing the view of the lake behind you.

Sad seeing homeless people on the street, its currently winter here, I saw on my way to the shop yesterday sleeping on the sidewalk it was so heartbreaking buddy. No human deserve to be homeless in this day and age.

Much love my dude! I couldn't have done something like this 10 years ago, but now that I've found my true personality I am always ready to socialize.

That is the mighty Kanawha River you see. Most are afraid to swim in it due to things being dumped into it all of the time, but I've gone swimming in it before as a kid and I'm doing just fine I believe. I'll be honest, I prefer a pool or ocean though.

The homeless are a sad sight to behold. Some of them I've seen roaming the streets for as long as I've lived here downtown, nearly two years. That's through all seasons too, winter must be even more difficult. I agree that no human should be without a home, but at least some of them are choosing to live this way and I've even met a few who actually seemed happy. Most of the time they are just in a terrible life situation and unable to motivate to fix it or they are sick/have a drug problem. All of it sucks and fixing it should be one of the world's top goals, but sadly it is overlooked.

True most end up in that condition due to drug, lol you do have a point about some of them looking happy, there's one that dresses in rags and stands by the robot begging. The other I saw him walking through the park where I live and I was shocked, his got his bag not dressed in rags and heading towards the direction where he stands for begging.

I never understood begging. There are so many other options that are more fulfilling. But I guess if some people are willing to give some handouts, then I see why there are people who consider that their gig in life.

Dalton when I arrived in South Africa, I was jobless after some months and ran out of cash, my savings all exhausted, guess what I had to do even after applying for jobs and never got, I decided to take garden jobs and worked as a gardener for 2 years, not the best time of my life but I had to do that.

So I don't get it why some will choose to beg or steal when they nit disabled.

If you are not from South Africa, where are you from originally?
Being a gardener is a million times more respectable than being a beggar. I’m sure you learned some new things doing that too. I am happy for you to have found a better job though.

Am a Nigerian, been in South Africa since 2008 🙂
Absolutely, through being a gardener I got a job offer into Telecommunication so a blessing from a source I never expected lol.

What you say is very interesting, the truth is that it is very logical and normal for videos to increase content engagement, because videos are content that is much more appreciated by the general public since they are easier to consume and digest than the written content.

Because not everyone likes to read, but watch videos, that's what everyone does. For the reason mentioned, written content makes much less noise (it is less noticeable) than video content, making authors less well known.

That is why in Marketing (and in general) it is well known that videos are one of the most effective ways to attract (or get) an audience for our written content; because it makes people who are interested in the topics we write about (and who really love to read), they can access the content written by us, and this allows them to know who we are and what kind of content we usually write.

Thanks for sharing.

These days you are right. Writing used to be the main way information was passed through newspapers and such. I don't know many people who even get the newspaper anymore. They prefer their apps and videos. Videos are a lot easier when multitasking too. For instance, I am able to listen while cooking or working out, but it would be hard to read during both of those.

Appreciate you dropping a good comment 🤝

This is the most sensible advice I have ever heard on this topic. Thanks so much Harry for sharing it with us. ❤️ Definitelly gonna use those tips💕

Even if you aren't getting your face on the screen, perhaps consider adding voiceovers to video tutorials that you do. If someone doesn't speak your language, they can just mute it and watch the video as if there wasn't any sound. So it can only bolster your content.

Daltono City! 😁

Hivers just wanna WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN..

but facts, u are just good at doin the video.. I am camera shy and would stutter a lot,

:P

I used to not be so good at videos, it just takes a lot of practice. I think most people are capable of doing this, especially if they figure out how to edit out their mistakes.

I will definitely give video a try when I get a new phone the phone am using is not to good for videos not sharp at all ,I will try it someday @daltono

I understand that. I had an iPhone with a busted camera for a year straight once. I ended up investing in an off-brand Go-Pro to allow me to record videos until I could afford a new iPhone. The new phone was of course much better and more convenient, but a crappy camera is better than no camera. I hope you can get that upgrade you desire sometime soon my friend.

#Hive provides us with many interesting alternatives to make our account successful and recording videos is very used lately, apart from offering us an advantage since they see us first and can also clearly hear what we mean.

I used to prefer writing because I could perfect what I wanted to say before it was finalized. Now I am realizing that what comes out naturally the first time is usually what is best. The only main issue I see with videos is the whole translation thing. Written content is a lot easier to copy and paste into Google Translate and figure out what I'm saying if you don't speak English as your first language.
