Recently the Proof of Brain system has been activated and new posts meeting the criteria can be voted on by people with DLUX Power. Much like Hive, there is a pool of rewards that posts are rewarded from, so this is one of the easiest ways to earn DLUX as there are currently very few DLUX Power token holders.
Our Front-End still needs a little update to show off these posts, as well as trending and promoted but the base layer functionality has been tested. But you can both see these posts and help provide feedback at our discord. I also discussed The Best APR on HIVE and there is an auto voter that will trigger our delegation account to vote on new DLUX content based on votes in the same 2.5 Hour time period. So when you build DLUX content you'll get DLUX and HIVE for your efforts. Especially early on in the game like we are now.
Speaking of Discord, Many interactions has been programmed into our discord bot: View the DEX and Sell DLUX, or Send DLUX availible as HiveSigner Links. When @good-karma has Escrow Transfers ready to go You'll be able to buy DLUX from discord as well. The discord bot is also opensource and free to use with your communities instance of the token software.
I personally still forget DLUX is the only platform in the world that supports social tokenization of XR content. Where our competitors set up cool systems it costs a lot of ETH just to pay for a transaction fee. VR for the rich. This is the only crypto platform where you can start from zero.
There's so many things we are capable of doing right now and I'm hoping to show you all whats possible. So while I take mulling breaks from upgrading the token ecosystem what would you like to see?
- A Tutorial for Building Tooling?
- Show that any Hive user can build post building tools like what we have in dlux.io/new which any other user can use to post new dApps.
- These can also earn benificary rewards so you aren't working for free.
- A Walkthrough of:
- DEX
- Creating Content
- Token Architecture
I hope you can take a few minutes to vote for our Proposal 171 to help offset the cost of building these tools that any Hive Community can adapt for their own uses. Also take a stroll over at dlux.io and see what the future can look like.
How do you vote on Dlux content, is it just voting for stuff with the DLUX tag, and then you get curation returns depending on how much DLUX you have powered up too?
It's triggered just like voting on LEO content. Normal voting, normal weights.
I have to apologize that I have far more free time than @markegiles to build logic and API, and he hasn't caught up with what I've been putting together. Our discord bot is updated enough to pull a new and trending list from the APIs.

This entire endeavor really needs to be supported. We are looking at a rapidly changing industry and mixed reality will soon be upon us. As we learned with @brianoflondon's application, building on Hive saved him hundreds of thousands of dollars in transaction fees.
We see the same thing with DLUX. It is time to start getting the proper attention on it as you roll out more features.

Is there a difference in locking up DLUX for governance or staking them? Also do we get curation rewards if we actually power up the tokens?

Locking for governance allows you to run a node and help execute transactions. The locked token is used to determine how much of a trade an account can handle as all aspects need to be properly collateralized. If you don't run a node there's little to no benefit to the governance token.
On the Power side of things, with DLUX Power you can curte content. There is a linear curve for curation and 50% goes to the author. With so little content, so little DLUX voting it's a golden oprotunity to find and vote for DLUX content. The last post made 900 DLUX, and 900 for Curation. It's feasible that even a 5-10 DLUX Powered account could earn such a reward.
Currently there is no staking rewards, but if the community wants it their will be staking rewards. Delegating to @dlux-io is the only staking method that currently is paying.
Ah ok thanks for the clarification. I am not sure if its a bug or by design but I would prefer the screen to update after I powered up. I wasn't sure I actually did so and I checked later to make sure it was powered up.

It's crazy to think your proposal is still flying under radar for too many people. I think we have a golden goose on Hive with DLUX!

That sounds really awesome. I hope it continues to go well. What kind of content are people posting on the DLUX front end? Is it mostly highly technical stuff or is it kind of a catch-all? Just curious.

https://www.dlux.io/apps/ has a few examples. The least technical for sure is uploading 360 degree photo's in the viewer but a couple of users have put some skill points in learning about webVR. I'm really leaning toward a technical walk through of posting a posting application, so the other technical people around here can help others start putting different kinds of content online.

This is really interesting work and I was very happy to get the airdrop and earn some DLUX from my post - thank you. It got me so interested that I bought a 360 camera for future posting. I think that being able to do more in a post than just using markdown is a big plus. The A-Frame technology looks very promising, I will need to study it more.
I have to say that there is a bit of a learning curve though and the documentation could use any of the tutorials that you have listed. I accidentally locked up 500 in DLUXG before I could figure out that I really should have put it in dlux power. It won't let me convert it to dlux power now, so I set it to unlock. Hopefully it will but I'm not sure how to check this.
Is there any block explorer for DLUX or any plans for one?
You can see recent transactions in your wallet on dlux but to keep node slim and cheap you won't be able to see anything older than a day. Of course if there is value in seeing this type of thing a database can be set up to store these old transactions much like hive is. For now discord has a record of most types of transactions and I can see you did in fact do this on the 11th :)

There is so much to do. For instance AFrame has other competitor projects in babylon.js. I'll be making a post soon showing how any developer can post a posting app to help others get their content into new types of programs.
