Chinese Unicorn collector coins

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

Dear investors,

Apart from tubes of bullion silver and gold I sometimes buy - for fun - some high premium collector coins.

These coins below are part of the brief 6 year series of Unicorns minted in China during the mid nineties. I have two proof silver ones and a 1/20 ounce gold one (not shown here) but decided not to buy any more. They are keeping their value but I do not know well where to sell them in the future. EbaY when I am 80 ? Not sure.....

So now the coins

Unicorn on one side and the mytical Chinese figure Qilin on the other side as China does not have Unicorn in their history.

The Qilin is a hooved hybrid creature " known in Chinese and other East Asian cultures, said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler."

These proof coins are worth quite a bit but I will keep 'm as I like the way they look

Enjoy your weekend

Thanks for showing the interesting coins, @goldrooster. As I like to say, a great way to store and stack wealth.

Wonderful Chinese coins! Where do you get them?

ma-shops.com (an online shop of some 500 european and some US traditional coin houses)

The search engine is state of the art. Roman coins or greek coins or in this case type unicorn and bang you see them.

MA = muenz auction = coin auction in german

I had some doubts that the Unicorn was one of the Asian Zodiac animals.
