As the Silver Bloggers' Community starts its second year on the blockchain we're what we can, bar the amount that we will need for prizes in this month's celebratory blog challenge. Speaking of prizes, a huge thank you to Silver Streak and Silver Swigle for their very generous donations of Hive and HBD that will considerably add to our prize pool.

What is Power Up Day and why we "do" it
Hive Power Up Day takes place, like clockwork, on the first of every month - with lots of winners and is ably managed by @traciyork with support from her numbers man @abh12345 and supported by the @hivebuzz team who award - in her words, awesomesauce badges.
Powering up - every little counts
This month's power up is 15 Hive thanks to a generous top-up from our Founder, Silver-blonde Lizzie. Since March, the account has grown significantly and will soon hit the 2K mark - hopefully for the June power up - we're just under 10 Hive short.

I used to be all for powering up and it still has it merits, but these days I put all my additional hive into HBD where one earn a 20% APR!! Hive could however skyrocket and then I will not be happy for missing the boat!!
