Did I Make The Right Choice?

Back Story

Over the past week I have experienced a ton of really good things happening with my friends in the crypto atmosphere. Most notably, my buddy and boss just sold an NFT for $43K and is now able to pay off a ton of debts that were stressful, and another friend of mine making quite a pretty penny off of DOGE (I know...).

I would like to say I am pretty good with not falling to peer pressure, but oh boy this week has tainted me just a little bit. The dream of hitting that one big score that would jumpstart my career and life with a decent fallback, it hits me even more these days. As some of you may have seen, at around midnight EST Bitcoin fell to about 51K. I text my friend as I do, and he decides to put $300 into Bitcoin instantly with no thought, that related to me soo well that I chose to put $200 in myself as soon as he told me. It's not a ton but its probably more than too much for where I am at in life, but I did it anyway.

This hesitation that I had, waiting until I knew he put money in, this is what hurt me a little bit. Instead of putting in at 51-52K, I unfortunately got my $200 in right at ~$55,980. CURSE YOU ROBINHOOD!

Aftermath

As of the morning after, I am definitely regretting this decision. I know Bitcoin will go back up and I won't be stressing anymore, but right now I am still on the verge of no profit or losing my money. That darn hesitation got me screwed, I should've put it all in ASAP or just not at all. Against my better judgement, I am going to keep this in for a bit and see if this ends up being beneficial at all, but I do not plan to keep this for very long.

Originally, I was going to buy and install some stuff into my car but had to cancel the order, so technically I am just rearranging where I initially was going to put that $200 into. This will hopefully become a post of its own as a kind of tutorial later on when I can find the right equipment.

My Portfolio

I've wanted to make a post about my current portfolio but felt it did not deserve its' own post so it will have its little spotlight here. I use multiple different platforms so not every asset of one currency is together, and the diversity is quite lack luster.

Robinhood

As seen in an image above, all of the crypto and stocks in my Robinhood are Bitcoin and it will most likely stay that way for a while. I wish there was more diversity with this platform so that I can withdraw and deposit other crypto without any fees like Coin base. My future agenda for Robinhood is to put some money into DOGE just for the sake of gaining something if it has a boom like it has in the past couple days. I have slowly accumulated my profits into what it is now, I have only put about $260 work-money to get where it is now. (I am desperate that $200 does something for me)

Coinbase

Oh my love child, my precious beginning platform. I have used many different tokens to get where I am with my portfolio but the diversity has dropped to practically nothing from Bitcoin. I guess I use BTC as my fall back, I know I can rely on it while others scare me currently.

I don't remember what I pulled out for the big drop that you can see on the picture, but I'm sure I was probably moving my assets around. I originally started with $20 and have not deposited anything else since which I would consider an accomplishment for me. I acquired my UMA from doing videos and lessons provided on Coin base and chose to just let that sit for time being. My hopes for this platform is that prices will lay back down to before the craze and I can put a ton into MKR. I do not have have much knowledge on it but Maker was one of the first tokens I really fell fond of, and a plus side is the big growth it had while I was holding some of it. Coin base will always be the main platform for me until another can do as much or even more with better efficiency.

Nicehash

Nicehash was suggested to me by my boss and I quickly became addicted to using it as its slightly free money. I used it nonstop for around two weeks straight and I have slowly leveled off to not using it as much these days. I have passed the threshold but have not pulled out because if I am going to deposit this somewhere else, I would like to have surpassed .002 BTC.

There is not much else to say about Nicehash, I like the interface and ease of use. However, it is quite slow and I am worried about my new hardware deteriorating faster than I would like it to.

Conclusion

I obviously have some diversity to work on, I do not like that nearly all of my assets are in Bitcoin right now. However, it will have to do until I can work some things out and have an action plan for other tokens. Every person has that one big loss, and its an experience we all need to have, but I am trying my best to avoid that and use the lesson of being smart before having to deal with that.

I also have some other platforms (like here!) that either do not need to be talked about or just have an abysmal amount to even bring up.

Thank you for reading!

I see people shouting about Bitcoin dropping, but most of them will be in massive profit anyway if they sold. I can't cry over people who have a lot losing a little.

I just don't do all this speculation. I'm happy enough to keep building up my HIVE. I think it will do okay in the long run and I am not looking to buy flash cars.

Maybe buy a little more HIVE to get to minnow (about 530 HP). That will increase what you vote can do. It can be about helping others too.

Just try to have fun with what you do.

Well said!!

Hive is a very nice platform that really has some true potential, this is my long-run investment and hobby. I try other tokens and sell them quickly for easy profit because I need that money (relatively) although the risk comes with it, I can't cry about it when I lose.

Actually, believe it or not, I really wanted to spend around $60 USD to invest in hive but never really realized that idea from unexpected bills.

It's pretty hard to know where things will be in even just a year. I just found some DOGE in an old wallet that was worth cents last time I looked (some years ago). I need to check what else I have, but I was just playing with things like that at the time and didn't think they would be worth anything.

I have spent STEEM in the past to buy some nice things. Just having a lump of money does not make me happy. It's what I can do with it that matters. I'm doing okay with HIVE, but that is after a big investment of time, that was mostly fun.

!ENGAGE 20

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I can tell you are new to all this, the volatility washes over me now and I don't care about it. Don't freak about BTC, you are quite safe there, DOGE.., run away.. don't bother.. you will get burnt.

Yes, while writing this post I felt very dumb because I don't know the terms all too well and things like that. I will keep your suggestion close to mind any time I crack thinking about DOGE, thank you for the advice.

Don't forget about your Hive! Just by being on here posting, commenting, and curating you are gaining stake in Hive. Even if you remove my delegation from the equation, you are still actively earning on here and your account should be growing!

Yes of course! I did not mean to exclude hive in that sense, just everything anyone needs to know can just look at my profile. I love this platform and I don't plan to leave any time soon.

I hear you! Awesome!
