Data & Information: A New Era Of Monetization

I have an older friend who was always looking for ways to buy things that weren't just cheap but valuable and served some great benefits. He was constantly on "the grind" for these sorts of things. In places where others are looking to spend on comfort, he was looking to invest his time and energy into sourcing things that were invaluable, he would then resell this knowledge to make money for himself.

We're in a generation where people monetize their hustle and exchange their knowledge for the dollar. This world currently thrives on Data, this is because Data value and value itself can translate to money. A lot of people are looking for hacks, the easiest ways to do things and some people are constantly on the grind looking to get this information and place a monetary value on them.

When I was growing up, one of the most rampant keywords people searched around me on Google was "HOW TO MAKE MONEY". This is one of the most relevant and prominent questions ever. Why is this?

Big Techs Answers The "BIG" Question

Money is the means to acquire sustainability and hence making it inevitable. So the questions on how to make it will always be there. Big techs like Google have become a solace, a solution to over 41% of 8 billion people who has access to the internet. But here's the catch.

Google has become the biggest gainer over time, using its diverse algorithm to garner information and Data, then capitalizing on the need of people to depend on it to give them the swiftest of solutions. Notice how I said "the swiftest"? Yeah. The reason is that getting accurate information isn't easy.

Google's ability to provide speed is why some people would still choose it even though some of the pieces of information it provides might be slightly inaccurate, but the thing is, sometimes people don't even need the most accurate information, they just need pointers or clues and they're good to go.

A Stage Of Speed & Swiftness

This doesn't take away the fact that the world is heading into a stage of swiftness. Speed is becoming everything. People are becoming more conscious of time, hence, it's no more about getting information easily, but swiftly and as fast as possible. Google's is web2:0, owning and monetizing data that isn't theirs.

However, in a bid to even be better, so many people are beginning to wonder if a time will come when they'll get accurate and sustainable answers to their questions while having a bit of the pie. (The wealth that's being generated in the process). Let's not go into an analysis of how this thievery happens.

This is a generation that thrives on information and will do anything to have it.

.....this includes spending big. In a bid to monetize knowledge, you'd see people using e-books, uploading to YouTube, creating a paid platform on Udemy, to make the most of these pieces of information. Relevant information is not ubiquitous, they're exclusive and this is to the extent through which the monetization of information will go.

Data: Influencing The Money Choice

Crypto is the first to utilize Blockchain technology, I have a feeling this is only the beginning, it'll come to a time when people can become a beneficiary of their data. Let me describe a situation for you.

Samsung's best-selling mid-range phone is still the galaxy A51 produced over two years ago, this information is owned by Google and has been provided by avid users, now people who provided this search information feel they've gotten utility, but the truth is, they didn't.

The world is getting to that stage where people can completely monetize every aspect of their lives, but this isn't possible with web2.0. This wouldn't be possible unless web3.0 happens. The difference is that there will be decentralization of ownership, while people can still own their data. It's classic "Eating your cake and having it".

The Case With Monetization & True ownership.

Information and ownership will keep being the real deal. We have people who bring information and we have the ones who consume, these pieces of information are what we're reliant on to improve our lives. This is why it'll always be one of the most lucrative ventures till the end of time.

Nevertheless, there shouldn't be staticity to the basic functions of a person who brings information and another who consumes it. When these positions are diversely switched, there will be a certain fluidity when the value of Data or information is being measured.

This is evident on the Hive Blockchain, where creators are also consumers. The jet age is here, a time where people wouldn't be categorized with a singular stream of income.

I think the problem is the number of users on the chain and the cost of development. None of which comes cheap and centralized systems have it way easier. This should get better over time for Hive and we do have a DHF for funding development but I don't know if it can match the loans/VC funding that corporations can get.

You're right, well I tend to think centralized systems have a lot of money, hence, things have become way easier. I think we don't have a lot of money yet in decentralized systems and web 3.0 isn't yet established, who knows, maybe in the near future.v

This is so so educative, you've said a lot about the importance of data/information and this is just the truth. If only some of us will key into getting more data now so that when the web.03 comes fully, we will be part of those to benefit from it.

Thank you for sharing this amazing piece with us dear.

Thanks for the comment. We're in the new era of speed, data and monetization. We would create a wealthy industry where individuals can benefit from the data and information they provide. Web:30 is the solution.

Thanks for share this wonderful post. You made me remember around 2007 to 2013 many of us go on Google to search for our to make money online. Information is truly money, the internet age is nothing but information market.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You're right. Making money online was the real deal back then and the truth is we made a lot of money for all these big techs back then .

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Tech as given alot of people finical freedom

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

What I was trying to say is that big techs like Google are actually having all these monies for themselves profiting from all that data and not giving the actual bringers of these data anything in return.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I get your point, we are in the age of information market anyone can tap into the opportunity.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I agree with you, we have entered a digital age where everything and everyone is represented by groupings of 1s and 0s.

It's awesome, how much we can accomplish with this enablements.

You made a lot of sense
I think we should go for this knowledge first before money, because anything can happen to your finance, but your knowledge remains with you till you die, no one can take it away from you.
Although money is very necessary... Lol
Even the richest men still want more
