The number of projects we have currently being developed is more than we've ever had before. With our new microblogging platform launching on Hive in the next few weeks, LEO's standalone sidechain entering testnet and our new LeoFi app, the first Quarter of 2021 is going to be our busiest yet.
If you've been watching our Discord, then you'll know that we've got some running jokes about announcing announcements. There are simply so many projects being built under the LeoFinance umbrella separately but together (as our dev team continues to expand) that the announcements are piling up.
As these projects get closer to public launch, we'll continue to release details about them. Earlier this week, the LEO roundtable crew met for a quick podcast and in the first 20 minutes or so, we talked about all of the announcements and major developments that are right around the corner.
I'm feeling proud of the title I came up with for this clip. We were actually not going to release this episode since we talked about projects that we're not ready to announce details on yet, but I ended up censoring all of the private information that's not yet public.
The next 3 projects we launch will blow your mind. I don't think anyone is expecting the pace at which these projects will roll out and the sheer magnitude of what they mean for LeoFinance.
LEO is going decentralized on our new governance layer. The testnet is ready and we're going to shoot it into public testing very soon. Along with this, a new governance token will be launched and airdropped to LEO POWER hodlers (and WLEO LPs). More announcements on this will follow.
LeoFi is shaping up nicely as we get ready to exit the design phase and start development.
The new microblogging app we're developing (Project _____) is getting closer and closer to launch as well. This launch will also include a new microblogging-centric token along with a mining token. Both of these will be airdropped to:
- LEO POWER hodlers
- WLEO Liquidity Providers
- LEOM stakers
- LEOMM stakers
We've been quiet on the public announcements over the past 1-2 weeks. We're just gearing up for a long list of developments that we need to roll into testing and eventually into production.

It is nice to know that their are 2 airdrops coming. Also, I think the fact that people need to have LEO staked for 14 days to receive the airdrop is a good way to stop people from only coming in just for the airdrop.
A question: Let's say we are already LP holders. If we were to stake more LEO between the 14 day period, would the airdrop amount still go up? I believe most of us are either staking or buying LBI with or without the airdrop.

@khaleelkazi I know I've already raised this (@taskmaster4450 denied this) that it all sounds like abandoning Leo token.
What sorts of decisions are going to be taken? As far as I know those governance tokens showed to be ineffective in decision making thus far.
um no that's ridiculous. All of our projects are centered around LEO and drive value back to the LEO token economy.
This is LeoFinance after all.
Governance tokens are not ineffective when done right. This will offer us the ability to run LEO as a decentralized second layer. More details will be released as that project gets closer to launch.

I am curious why you chose to have a separate token for governance instead of using the LEO token for that.
I'm guessing because the liquidity pool hack made the LEO distribution very centralized with some major LEO whales.

Hey, yes the airdrop to miners (LEOM and LEOMM hodlers) will be the microblogging miner.
LEO / WLEO LPs will get airdropped the microblogging token itself.
The point of these airdrops is just an early set of distribution to the most vibrant community of token hodlers. Not all of the supply will be airdropped as that would just be copy/paste LEO. A % of the ___ token and ____M token will be airdropped for initial distribution.

LEOMM had some serious gains few days ago. Unfortunately I owned only a tiny bit of miner tokens. As LEOM was relatively undervalued I put some orders. I was about to write about it, but as usual I get sidetracked and ended up writing two long articles covering Wikipedia, blockchain and few other things.
BTW I have a real frustrating (but also kind of loving it) relationship with these announcements. It's doing a great job building hype. It's even buying me more time to accumulate more tokens before the airdrop. But I really need to learn more.

Am I missing something or doesn’t simply delegating HP to @leo.voter earn a better LEO return than staking the miners does?
I haven't done the math. It was only a minor stake in miners and I mainly stake LEO and earn curation as my preferred way of earning LEO (apt from posting). Thank you for mentioning this. I'll leave the calculations to someone else. Manual curation is more fun than other methods.

Thanks so much for the description of Steem Engine as a centralised single node @khaleelkazi. I was talking in another channel yesterday about the hack and couldn't understand the mechanics of it. Your short description allowed the penny to drop as to how it could happen and why building a side chain with more sides nodes means it would be decentralised. You have a wonderful knack of explaining things in a way that I can understand. I can't tell you how helpful that is! 😁
It also helped me to understand what was going on with the data I'm missing that I need for my tax return. Now I have a picture of Steem Engine as a side node in my head it makes sense as to why I can't find what I'm looking for with the tool I've been using.

Thank you for this "sneak peek" @khaleelkazi. Now starting into 2021, as a relative newcomer, I can look back at what I wrote after reading through your July 2020 "Roadmap" post and feel quite good about my "put your money where your mouth is" decision. Which had quickly followed my "cornerstone" decision of no longer listening to all of the "echo chamber" comments / posts "driving" every Hive blockchain participant to power up every last HIVE, no matter what, as to do otherwise was uhhh ... "sedition" ... (<= given current events, chosen intentionally 😉)
Your loyal support of the Hive blockchain is readily apparent to any "old timer" like me. I hope it is both noticed and appreciated. I'd say deeply appreciated, given what you have accomplished. I could say a lot more 🧐 here, but probably best to "stick a sock in it" ... 😉
It is only Jan. 15th, but others would be well advised to take seriously your "you ain't seen nothing yet" claims here in this post. I for one am looking forward to hearing more, when you deem in the best interest of us all to hear it.
