About 2 weeks ago, we posted a competition for one user to win $500 if they designed us a winning App Store Layout for LeoMobile V1 on both IOS and Google Play stores.
We got dozens of entries. Thank you to everyone who built their app store layouts and submitted them! All of the entries were amazing and it was tough to sort through them and pick a winner.
Last week, we chose @finguru's layout to be our winning choice. He did an incredible job and we are blown away by the results. After giving a little feedback and getting the updated mockups you'll see in this post, we're ready to submit to the app stores and are doing that as we speak!

If was easy to choose @finguru's entry, the phrases and keywords were catchy, this could easily make anyone new to Crypto to download the Leo app. He made it easy for even less techy people to relate with the concept of the app. It wasn't just the design, the text we're textbook marketing. Amazing @finguru gratz, next big thing for Hive would be if LEO made an app like Robinhood or Coinbase where they simplify the onboarding process and manage keys (yes custodial fun) Let people sign up and invest, buy NFTs earn playing games or posting whatever they want with a simple sign up, let the fee's pay for the services and development and those who learn to blockchain the correct way can skip the middle man and save fees...

This is a cool idea! I think it’s possible one day.
The issue is that we would need a money transmitter license to do something like that. This is why we prefer to build using decentralized technologies.
Although, you’re getting my brain thinking about some sort of Thorchain DEX integration to LeoMobile. I think it could be cool if you could trade and swap assets using LeoMobile with Thorchain as the backend

Right now add to this integrating possibly with either LEO mobile App or Keychain so they must simply download an app (could make it new just for Hive onboarding) that manages the keys for them on their device / computer so it is decentralized? possible yet? I think we could talk some out of Hive chain developers into joining this endeavor with some proposal funds! LEO could get it done I think and throw the fee's towards holders of your tokens adding another utility and source of DeFi revenue... !Giphy innovate
LeoMobile has this already - users can login with Facebook, twitter or Apple ID and our LeoInfra backend creates a Hive account and custodies their keys for them
The user clicks one button to sign in with Facebook and creates a Hive username. No keys, no passwords, etc.

The LeoMobile app will be used as an engagement-centric app.
LeoDesktop (leofinance.io) is for the creator experience.
LeoMobile is for the consumer experience.
If we position the marketing correctly, we could see a whole new generation of users onboarded: ones who focus specifically on reading content and commenting on it

Yes, I think it was a smart move. Saved us months of development.
I don’t see Ecency as competition. They’re building a great app for Hive as a broad application and we’re building a highly specific app for LeoFinance that uses Hive as the background database.
Quite like Splinterlands building for their app natively and Hive in the background.
Ecency is awesome though. I wish them great success and think it’s a beautiful application for using Hive directly.
LeoMobile will be tailored to crypto / finance people who want a mobile Web3 experience

Your mobile app looks great but why not support HiveAuth as a login option Wich is way safer than Hivesigner as users do not have to provide their keys?
We likely will eventually. It’s on the roadmap but we’re prioritizing LeoInfra for the V1 release
Right now, getting the app live and onboarding outsiders is our #1 priority. We’ll look to integrate in V2 as of the current roadmap
