An overview of my passive-ish crypto earnings (Still too Hive/ Leo/ Cub heavy?!?)

in LeoFinance3 years ago

2021 has been a bit of a whirlwind year for me, what with settling in to a new country, buying my land and getting into Defi, and I've only just had a chance to review my monthly returns from my various staked-tokens.

This is how the rewards break down for the major stakes I've got.

Token staking rewards.png

As usual I'm not going to be so indiscrete as to outline the exact amounts, so I'm just giving proportions.

I've included the Hive and Leo Author rewards, as they are significant and I did say 'passive-ish' returns.

Cub comes out as a clear leader

As I've mentioned before I was fortunate enough to have some other tokens kicking around - BTC and stables, so I piled in early and I got a nice Cub airdrop from my LEO stake and Cub is doing nicely for me!

Given the returns, it's not surprise people are powering down, presumably to go in harder, so this may well come down! It'll be interesting to compare this next month!

Hive and Leo author rewards are a close second

This kind of surprised me - that my author rewards are so much more than my curation returns!

I'm quite humbled by this, I'm just an ordinary bloke really that tries to post with integrity and support the ecosystem by 'Powering up so you don't have to'.

I appreciate every upvote, so cheers!

Hive and Leo curation returns and the leo bounties

These are a bit limp TBH, especially Hive, given the size of my stake, then again I have had 30% of it delegated to @leo.voter for leo bounties, it's been a good returner the last few months.

Then again 12% ish return just for curating, it's not bad compared to fiat earnings!

Rune returns on BEP

I bought a fair whack of Rune at $0.40 cents, and I've had about 30% of it staked on BEP for 2 months, but I'm gradually pulling out to stop it getting drained - it's yielded me around a 60-70% APY and I've had it pooled with tokens that have bounced around quite a lot, so I've done well I think!

I've now left only a minimal amount in and will wait for a while until Chaosnet is almost in full swing then pile into that with maybe 40-50% of my Rune, and I've got some ETH and BTC kicking around that I'll pair it with!

AKT

Akash network - I didn't buy too much, but this has trebled in value since I bought and what I've got staked is a 50% APY which is nice

AVA

Again this has increased a lot in value since I bought - about 5-6 times even if the staking returns are now quite mean - 8% it's enough to bring up the rear with 1% of my APY.

Other coins

I've also got a couple of new coins I'll be staking for a return - ORN and WAN, but I haven't got around to that yet, all in good time!

And I've got some coin staked on Pancake too and Splinterlands cards rented out, but I think they both account for only around 0.5% so I didn't bother including them!

(Oh and I just realised I forgot to include my WLEO returns, that's about 2% of my rewards, so adjust all the other figures down slightly!)

Final thoughts - too Hive/ Leo/ Cub heavy?

I'm now looking at my returns thinking this is way too imbalanced - I'm too reliant on Hive and Leo and then Cub for DEFI.

Although at least I've got 7% of my passive rewards coming from outside of the Hive/ Cub ecosystems.

I actually paid for most of those investments by selling a little Hive and Leo - and that was quite painful, but now looking at the above I'm thinking I ought to squeeze that up to 10% and then up to 20%

Of course I may not have to anything at all to do that, price swings might do it for me!

My next move is to diversify out into other DEFI platforms - Swamp is next on my list.

Nice! Congratulations. I've always liked passive income cryptocurrencies, unlike Bitcoin, which is pure speculation. But I still haven't had time to mess with this CUB thing. I need to start.

I was fortunate in that I'd already explored Pancake, it was just a matter of transferring over to Cub, the returns are excellent!

I’m also in the same situation, most of my passive income is coming from Hive / LEO / Cub and Steem (amazing APY on dlease btw, if you still hold some you might want to check it out. Above 30%).
I’m not exchanging any of my hive until I hit 5K Hp but after that I owe it to myself to diversify a little bit more. It always fells like I’m betraying the community when I sell hive 😅

Steem's doing well, unfortunately I got rid of all of that toxic coin right after the Fork!

You didn't allow many opportunities you heard of pass by: Rune, AKT, AVA, defi before Cub. Congrats for that!

Hey cheers, much of that is thanks to good old Leo Finance!

Nice overview! Thanks for sharing it!

I also got some RUNE a while ago and I'm considering staking some of it. Really liking that token.

I don't think you are too heavy on Hive, Leo or Cub but that's just me.

Rune has been good to me for sure!

Good Overview I have to increase my ways of passive income
I nearly have Hive/Leo and CUB only

They're doing pretty well at least!

Get swampy! Remarkably easy and big returns to be had

I've just taken 60% of my WLEO out of the ETH pool - so I might just do that!

It's on my to do list for tonight - I might even go for something other than stables!

I'm thinking of piling more into cub. It could be the token that sets us up for the future. I know the returns will drop as more people jump in but it will become a $20 token this year I am thinking.

Even if I can be earning 5 a day when it gets there that pays me a living wage. They will increase demand and burn supply. I have big hopes for that project.

$100 a day from just one DEFi platform would be awesome, I just wonder how long all of this is going to last!

I can't believe that it is still paying out 160% APR on $CUB. I thought that it would be down to a normal rate by now. I think tha tit will only get better as the price goes up.
All it needs is more users to increase demand on cub tokens. The exisiting users have diamond hands and wont sell easily so combined with burns it should keep growing in price for the year.

If the team can bring in a lot of new users we will see some good times.

I'm surprised the APYs haven't come down already, the amount of Leo staked is already below 70% and I'm sure most of that is making its way to the Cub pools!

I do wonder how many outsiders are coming in.
