how is the Bitcoin distribution changing over time?

Overall not too big changes, right? The categories are pretty stable (e.g. the addresses containing 1 to 10 BTC changed only from 9,28 to 9,18%). A bit more BTC are now in addresses with <0.01 BTC (app. 44000 vs. 35000), so a sloow progress towards more decentralization.
With Bitcoin, the Top 100 addresses have 15,45% of all coins.
If you compare this to Litecoin, here 40% are stored in the Top 100 addresses:
And with Dogecoin (DOGE), this value is >68% (source)!
2,5 years ago I have asked you already the exact same question as in the title, and then 1,5 years ago again.
The response was not that overwhelming (app. 13 responses each) , but at least there was some indication that in 2020 the average Hiver had more Bitcoins accumulated than in 2019:
The answer "I don´t want to disclose" is not represented in the graph.
In 2019, more than half of the respondants (5 of 9) had zero BTC, one year later that rate dropped to 33% (3 of 9).
So I would like to repeat the question, to see if there is a difference now, and hopefully getting more answers compared to the previous times!

Adding the 13 respondents of 2022 to the table:
Hard to interprete the trend over time with such a small sample (and very likely not the same people have answered). The anonymous survey didn´t trigger that much more answers (or was overlooked as I had not added it right away). I will try it again in 2 years.
My dog voted on the survey and voted for 1-2.5 BTC. I personally lost more on coinsmarkates, cryptopia and openledger than it owns. Made lots of poor decisions. It's not of any substantial value and is there for future children. Have a bad feeling that government thinks others deserve it more. This is why I will go for precious metals from here on.
There is only one correct answer: „too little“.

Will never disclose how many Bitcoins I have but this seems like an interesting survey. If by any chance you can host it on some survey website where we can answer anonymously then that'd be great.

Good idea. Surveymonkey is a great tool, and anonymous, but not for me as host :)
That sucks! You can make a fake email id. I am sure there are other alternatives where you don't really need to disclose your personal details.

I do feel the small sample size among hivers will cause the survey to be pretty skewed.
I don´t have the claim of a scientific paper. Besides, most of the actual science papers have one or the other biases, too :) I work in that field, so you can trust me.
Similarly in the past for me, the survey (cause I was looking at the number of past respondents) just reminds me of my past lecturers who will say the sample size is not representative etc etc yadda yadda. But the table of the holding percentage, yes that's lovely to see :)
Voted. officially and practically nothing, but I control LP shares created by adding BTC/XYZ on Yield Optimizer platforms. Cold Storage or on Exchanges == 0 for me.
