Hab mir beim Griechen bei der Donauinsel wieder eine Baklava gegönnt und kann euch folgendes erzählen. Die Baklava kommt mir noch ein Stück kleiner vor als vor Corona und sie kostet jetzt 5,60 statt 4,90 (2021) Euro bzw. 4,50 (2020).

I treated myself with a baklava at the Greek restaurant at the Danube Island in Vienna and can tell you, the baklava got even a bit smaller than before Corona and it now costs 5.60 instead of 4.90 Euro (2021) or 4.50 (2020).

Das erlebt man öfter in der Gastro - Preiserhöhung (wäre ja noch ok), aber warum dann weniger auf den Teller. Die hatten aber halt auch eine heftige Durststrecke. Schade nur, dass immer weniger Menschen sich das leisten können.
Ist die Qualität denn noch wie früher?

Befürchte auch, dass man sich Essengehen bald nicht mehr leisten kann, wenn das so weiter geht. Yep, war lecker :)
Wenn man nicht mehr Essengehen kann, fehlen dem Gastronom auch die Einnahmen. Wir werden sehen, wie es weitergeht.

Essen gehen ust bald nur noch für "reiche Leute". Mit normalem Gehalt ust das kaum noch zu bezahlen. Das woederum word dazu führen dass viele Gaststätten schließen, wenn sie such nichts anderes einfallen lassen.
Auch der "gemeine Balkanese" hat die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt. Wir haben es ihm schließlich vorgeführt: Je höher die Sterne-Dekorierung und je kleiner die Portionen, desto tiefer musst du in die Tasche greifen.
Wenn die Baklava das hält, was ihr an Ruf und Erwartung vorauseilt, dann drückt man auch mal ein Auge zu. Oder du schaust beim nächsten Heißhunger auf was Süßes beim Türken oder Bosniaken vorbei. ;-)

Double whammy! Smaller and more expensive. Damn. They call the smaller portion effect "hidden inflation," because its much harder to quantify. It's always been around but its definitely way more pronounced since covid.

I hope that the fragility in the global economy will become a stimulus for cryptocurrencies in the future. Today we are suffering, with the migration of investors to more """"safe"""" investments, but are they as safe as we think?
Had the same experience just now... Was out to get a nice cheesecake and I payed 6 Euro for one small piece what was before Corona around 4,50...what can I say... Damn it. Next time I bake it by my own... Lmao 😅🤗💯
