Wray Classic Car meet

in Planetauto3 years ago

It's all slowly returning back to normality here in the UK.

Meaning car meet, events and shows are now on, not the big big ones, they're under heavy scrutiny, courtesy of the muppets over the bank holiday that over did it.

We found out a couple of weeks ago that Wray classic car meet was back on a Thursday evening, therefore David and I decided it would be well worth a visit.

We ended up arriving a little later than scheduled courtesy of Ben's hectic day of driving from paint shop to garage after a match was eventually made for the Mk2 Golf in Helios blue.

The day before he couldn't get a match from the wheel on our Civic, therefore Ben had to head back and grab a wing :) to match - this is 55m round trip, and they also relaid Morecambe promenade, not ideal.

Anyway the Golf's nearly finished more on that soon.

We arrived around 4.15 and it was already filling up with rare machine including a Jensen Interceptor III convertible, we parked up and started doing some final detailing on the cars.

When you see the video you'll see Wray always attracts a wealth of rare classics including a Peugeot 309 Goodwood, 1962 Mercedes CE200, MG R V8 and many more.

Even the overflow car park had many gems including our friends 2 190e's.

Doc Brown even turned up in a rather standard Delorean.

After the event we headed for a short drive grabbed some shots and retired our cars for a well earned sleep.

I loved the walk around. I agree, Mr Lloyd would have exploded if he saw that cream interior lol. He should join this platform.

My mother, what history is in each car, if they could talk.....
