The quote is indeed a great one, didn't know it before. In these times, Hugo might add to find one's values first. I know way too many people who haven't done that, and are in constant struggle with who they want to be, who they pretend to be and who they are. Getting all that straightened out and in line is a huge relief.
I like adding quoted to my posts that I like or have meant something to me. Some of them are new to me, things I come across in my reading and some I look for; I always get some value though and I'm glad you do too.
It's said "Only fools never change their minds", but as you say the opinion change has to respect your principles... Example, if you have moral integrity, you can't change your opinions to become a theft searching quick moneys convinced by someone
