It's about finding a moment

It's about...me. It's about enjoying a pause, stepping apart and pushing aside that which doesn't fulfill me, satisfy and uplift me or provide solace or comfort.

- g-dog -

It's about the sound of water moving past me and the way it swirls between the rocks, speeding up through narrow passages then slowing down in the deeper, wider sections. I watch the twigs and leaves caught in the flow float by me with nowhere to go but wherever the water carries them, and no mind to care. I see small waterfalls form as the water cascades over rocks worn smooth by a thousand years and more of water flow and I see those smooth rocks glisten wetly as the sun pops out from behind the clouds now and then.

It's about exploration of natural places and finding new vantage points to sit and ponder, or the hope, I'll spy a gold nugget nestled between two rocks in the flow as I wander about, but knowing I'll probably not, and that it doesn't matter. I feel the air, cool on my skin, the slight warmth on my back as a cloud moves away from the sun and it's rays fall upon me and I feel alive knowing that I'm alone in this place, just me and nature's beauty.

It's about the moment I sink my bare feet into the icy water soothing them after the long hike I've taken and the way I feel more connected to the planet when my bare skin touches it. I lay back, proped against a boulder, alternately watching the water lap at my feet and the sky above as clouds scud across it, a patchwork of blue and white.

It's about silence and the sounds of nature; no human sounds, just that of the trees swaying slightly in the beeeze, the water burbling along and the birds calling. I close my eyes and reach out to those sounds, welcome them within me, let them permeate deeply and fill me with peace and serenity.

It's about...me. It's about enjoying a pause, stepping apart and pushing aside that which doesn't fulfill me, satisfy and uplift me or provide solace or comfort.

It's about finding a moment.

This is what I'll be doing this weekend, how about you?

Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind

Very nice. I swear the room dimmed and brightened up as you described the clouds coming and going.

Whaddup!

You sure that wasn't just you blinking really slowly? 😁

This place, Davies Creek in the Dinden National Park, Queensland is a very cool spot with a very nice waterfall, rockpools for swimming, camping areas and some gnarly mountain bike trails. It's a very easy place to find some nice moments with nature.

Its winter in Australia, isnt it? I would never try to enter a river barefoot in winter, expect if i have walked for hours! Nice poetic post sir!

It sure is. Australia is a big place so whilst it could be snowing in the high country of Victoria, in the tropical north it could be 30 degrees celcius.

Point in case...

You are right, i forgot how big is your country! It is as big as whole Europe, or even bigger! I wish you to be in the tropical north 😆

Yep, this website will demonstrate it.

It sounds like a very "mindful" way of being out in nature. It a good way to spend the weekend.

I'll be babysitting a friend's daughter for a few hours and resting my knees after a long hike I just got back from and hoping that they aren't damaged lol.

Haha, yeah knees, I get it....My nemesis. I guess that goes with the territory after a life of activity and ignoring the fact that I'll be older one day and will still want my knees to work.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Haha yeah very true. Being stagnant too long from desks jobs or sitting all day is just as bad for them. Thats my problem. I go from zero movement all week (3000 steps) to heavy exertion on weekends 28,000 steps).

Have a good weekend as well.

Ohhhh... I like the sound of that moment.

Moments like these help keep me on the right track.

I watch the twigs and leaves caught in the flow float by me with nowhere to go but wherever the water carries them, and no mind to care.

This is kinda thought-provoking. Makes me feel that we humans sometimes need to chill and let our minds relax, just like the carefree twigs and leaves. Easier said than done of course! Hehe.

I like to take solo walks within the city during the weekend as it calms my mind, so I look forward to that every weekend.

Your interpretation of that line is exactly what I wanted to make people think.

I'm off for a walk at the beach on Sunday, for the same reason as your walk in the city.

Have a good walk huh? 😊

Yeah had a good walk earlier, the weather was good today! :)
