The busy bee

He, who every morning plans the transactions of the day, and follows that plan, carries a thread that will guide him through a labyrinth of the most busy life.

You know that happy, tired, feeling you get after a day of moving from one thing to the next and ticking them off as you go? I have it now...after a very busy Saturday. I actually don't like to say the word busy as it hints at being a little out of control though, I prefer productive, and today was most definitely that; productive.

Woke up ✅

It's always a good day when this happens and today was no exception. I went through my usual morning thing of thinking about everything I'm grateful for in life and a mental list of the things I'd be doing that day then jumped out of bed ready to attack the day. Ok, I didn't exactly jump, it was more of a roll out of bed and hit the floor kind of thing.

Coffee and breakfast ✅

I caught up with a friend of mine for coffee and breakfast; she has some challenges currently and wanted my thoughts and input. Three hours, and a very legit breakfast later, we parted ways and I headed home to start the list of tasks I had planned.

Yard work, gardening and workshop rearranging ✅

That was pretty much the rest of my day to be honest, although, due to how hot it was I took a little break in the hottest part of the day and did all the housework inside. And if you believe that you're bonkers - I had a snooze for an hour.

I was pretty pleased with what I got done. My workshop is now a little more user-friendly; it was before I guess as I'm an organised man, but I consolidated a few things into cabinets which meant I was able to get rid of one of them and make more floor-space. I also reorganised one of my garages where I keep my four wheel drive, did some more consolidation and gave it a good sweep out. It's looking schmick!

The gardening was mainly tending my fruit and vegetables and I'm happy to report that things are moving along nicely there. This sunny weather is helping as we've had a far too cold and wet spring. With summer here, I think my garden is going to boom. Come on tomatoes, grow you good things!

Showered and holding down the couch ✅

I probably shouldn't give this one a full tick just yet, it's only half done.

I came inside at 20:30 just as it was getting dark and took a shower then decided to write a quick summary of my day. I've got dinner on, penne arrabbiata tonight, with an appropriate amount of garlic bread and you know what...I'm going to crack open a bottle of wine also, something I rarely do.

Once I'm on the couch, probably within about ten minutes of me publishing this post, I'll start searching for a new series to watch; I finished Peaky Blinders last night, well worth a look by the way folks, and want to start something new. I have no idea what so feel free to comment if you know of something I might like.

It's been a great day to be honest; I'm a little tired but I achieved a lot which for me, someone who has always got plenty going on, is a good thing.

I wonder what you've been up to so far this weekend. If you want to let me know please do so, make a comment and tell me what you've done or what you have planned.

Happy weekend y'all.

Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind

I confess that today I got up a little later, yesterday I finished in the kitchen very late and today I needed to sleep since there is still work to do tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, however, I promised myself to wake up on time because I also have some gardening to do and it can't be postponed! I wish you a good continuation of the weekend 🤗

The life of a chef isn't always an easy one; one of my friends did the job and his hours were all over the place. I hope you find some time for yourself.

I always try to carve out time for myself and especially for my family. I do my job with passion, but it's right to carve out space for everything, I believe that balance is needed in life 😉

Balance is a good way to proceed.

Yes, I believe so too, then it's not like you can always be. Let's say that a somewhat precarious balance in which the shot needs to be adjusted every now and then I think it's fine eh eh!

You are just as you express it with the cover image a man with work and full dedication to the task you propose to do is unconditional love Galen, cheers for those delicious penne arrabbiata and for the rare time of wine I think it is a reward good for you and for those of us who read you also enjoy it, thank you.

May more tomatoes arrive in your garden to continue making those typical Italian sauces.

Happy weekend🍷

I work hard at what I do, put a lot of effort into it, and generally get the results I'm looking for because of it. I hope you have a good weekend

I suggest Galen top off your day and that you enjoy the soccer game between Holland and USA.

It feels good to have those productive days! I’m looking forward to puttering around when we eventually get a house with a garage. I’ve done a bit of reorganizing the house in the small way that I can but it would be nice to have a garage to help lol.

Looking forward to seeing the delicious tomatoes you’re growing! I missed out big time on a garden this last year and made me sad to not have fresh tomatoes available.

If you’re looking for something to watch that’s not something to put your mind to sleep lol my wife found this really good documentary about our teeth and how it affects the rest of our body. It was even started by an Australian chap by the sounds of it!

Yeah it's nice to get some things ticked off and done. Feels productive.

Getting the workshop and me other garage done was good. I have a double garage under the main roof if the house, with house access. That's where I park my town car and work vehicle. The otter garage faces a side street and is where the four wheel drive is. I also have storage racks in there for stuff and it's that stuff needs organisation sometimes. I use big tubs with lids to keep things ordered and dust free. I did a post on it a while back.

Anyway, being organised is my thing, so it was good to straighten it out.

I'll have a look for that doco.

What a pleasure to know that it was a productive day for you, responsibilities at home call and we must attend to them. Great for your fruits and vegetables, it's great just to go to the garden when you want a particular food, grown with your own hands.

My weekend is just beginning, after breakfast, tidying up the kitchen was the second activity. I am now going through the options you offer to choose one and do my best to provide a good publication.

I am also organizing a small Christmas decoration, but I must wait for my husband's time off to finish the task.

Have a restful sleep. 😴

I hope your weekend goes well and you get a few things done. Maybe you'll also find some time to relax and do something for yourself too?

That sounds interesting, sometimes I focus on other things and forget time for me.

I find all the ticks above productive, Sir. It was a great weekend at home. And, of course, my favorite part is after doing all the tasks, “Showered and holding down the couch.” Hehe.

Lol, yeah that's my term for sitting on the couch. 🙃

Yes, Sir, and I quote that from you. Hehe. Perhaps couch is bangko in my dialect. It is my favorite part of the house. Have a wonderful Sunday and take care.

Holding the bangko down then. 🙃

Same here, hehe. That is a Cebuano term, Sir.

popping up a bottle of wine for me is the exciting moment of the day for me, I do It to reward myself for a Job well done.

However for me today was two bottles of soda😄 after a Job well done.

Soda is good too. I'm not much of an alcohol drinker to be honest, but now and then I will have a sip.

You know that happy, tired, feeling you get after a day of moving from one thing to the next and ticking them off as you go?

Oh I surely do, the cherry on top is when I get home "on time", meaning when there's little to no traffic while coming back home. 😎

Yeah, traffic is annoying.

This is nice, i imagine the coffee breakfast with a friend, for 3 hours.problem shared is half solved.
Your garden is doing well too. Happy weekend bro.

Happy weekend to you also! 😊

That photo looks perfect.
It's always nice to wake up every day being happy and productive. The more you finish your tasks every day, the more satisfaction you feel.

It's not too bad huh? I only had to take three million other ones to get this one good one.

Hahaha...worth the millions. You did it perfectly.

Thank you.

You're welcome.☺️

What a weekend. A coffee to start the day.. hehehe.

And your garden. I just hope I could see how it looks.

Happy weekend to you
