Weekend-engagement week 67: The important week

in Weekend Experiences3 years ago

For a few minutes I tried to empty my mind entirely, to concentrate solely on breathing: sometimes it’s useful to rediscover simpler pleasures of life.

Romain Gary

There's many things I hold as important in life: Certain people, material items, thoughts, sounds, smells, personal values and ethos, personality traits, physical abilities and experiences...The list is long and varied. This week's topic is based around important things as I thought it would be good to learn some of yours, so read on for the topic if you're keen to get involved.

The #weekend-engagement concept is simple; respond to the topic in the comments below then stay around and engage with others - On Monday 20th September I'll split some hive between a few who respond to the topic in the comments below. original im src

Weekend-engagement topic week 67

In the comments below answer:

➡️ What three things are important to you and explain your answer. Don't answer with your mum or dad, though, they're excluded from this topic.

➡️ Of those those three things what is number one, the most important, and why?

There's no right or wrong answer, just your answer.

✅ Answer in the comments below
✅ Add a photo if you like
✅ Be creative and fun
✅ Engaged with others
❌ Don't drop links to external posts

Read this bit so you know what to do.

⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️

That's the topic folks; you have until Sunday night to get your response into the comments below and I hope you'll stay around and get friendly with some of the others who participate as it'll be good to see you around over the weekend. Have a great weekend whether you engage or not though - Life's too short not to.

Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind

This would be my first time participating in this fun, I don't know why I always get to see it when it's almost closing 🤦‍♀️ but good I found it just a few hours after publish.

Three important things to me would be Being Independent, My Phone and adventure

There are so many other important things to me but I choose to share these ones for the present.

Being Independent is very important to me, I've always being the dependent type to my parents until I tasted independency and I started to crave for it. Getting to work for my own money, spend it according to me and having the feeling of my siblings looking up to me is something I hold very dear.... Independency.

My Phone.... Ahaaa I want to believe you would understand why I said my phone is important to me. Without my phone, I'll be without Hive, no blogging for me and no chatting with friends.... It's unimaginable what life would be for me. My present phone is giving me issues and I'm hoping I'll get a new one before it finally knock off 🤦‍♀️

I love adventure so an important thing for me now is going to places, visiting new places I've only seen on tv like South Korean... It's in my mind to visit there someday so it's an important plan to me.

If I'm to take one that's most important to me, it would be being independent and that is because it changed my life for the better and I can see an even more better future if I keep being independent in everything.

Thanks for reading 😉

I used to love the concept of independence too till I learned the concept of interdependence.

Everyone is dependent on each other for things to work out.

For example, on hive, content creators like us, depends on programmers to create better features, user interface, take out bugs etc, so that we can enjoy more.

If there are not good content creators, it is just another software. It's not something unique.

The authors depends on curators, people engaging on their content to come up with better content, and write more creative topics.

I understand that no one wants to be dependent on their parents financially. And internet has enough potential and opportunities that you can work out that part in a few years.
But there are other sides too. The emotional part. The part where they get old, and don't have many friends or family members left to talk to, or to spend time with.
The only person they look up to is their kids.

I have not been on really good terms with my parents. It was mostly me though.
I am working on that part, and on my finances too.

The thing I realised a few years back is that once your financial life is stable, your relationship with parents starts getting better.
At least that happened with me😋

Good luck with your life. I hope you find everything good you are looking for😇

Ahaaa thanks a lot for this comment, I learnt something new from it and that is "Being Independent doesn't mean one is totally independent of some things" we still find ourselves depending on some things and I could relate with you and your family.

Thanks for the good wishes dear

Coming for the engagement around here and staying for the knowledge!

Ha, ha, ha. Are there any thought vampires around?

Keeps the mind's eye open for detection

Would that be like "It's generally to co operate than compete?" To your example, we content creators (well, I once was :)) seem to do better when we co operate with one another rather than just see who has the biggest reward. I'm thinking communities, here.

That way writers can support musicians and artists.

As in... instead of coming together to share a pie, let's come together and create a bigger pie for all. 😊

I was surprised about your phone being so important. I am trying to ditch the thing, to go back to the way life was before I was tethered to a device. But reading the comments, I see you are not alone.

😂 Good you saw that I'm not alone on this. But I understand what you mean though.

It's actually pretty easy. I deleted all apps. I use it for nothing but texts and calls. Now and then GPS. Just stop taking it everywhere. Liberating!

Welcome...

Here are some Refreshments from your friendly neighborhood Spiderm... @krazzytrukker

Oh my! I'm struggling not to eat my screen right now but this is just what I want right now.... Just look at that chilled drink 😋

I am thinkin' it will be a Chili Dog and a Beer for this KrazzyTrukker for lunch break today...

That I is if my bro @dandays approves.?

Then later tonight I will have to change my name to...

Marty

😂 😂 Those giphy got me filled immediately thanks for sharing

You're a really funny one
I hope the Giphy challenge is still one, who's winning? I'm so sure it's you already 🤣

We are all Weiners Winners here at the #weekend-engagement in G-Doglandia.

😂 You're always eating... Love your giphy

Not sure which is more appealing, that chili dog or a swift kick to the nuts and a plunger uppercut.

Both are pretty extreme..

But then again, you are a pretty extreme guy.

Go with this combo package and enjoy...

Yup, we do need our hardware. I am considering a reliable phone myself. I use a PC mostly, laptop occasionally, smartphone only for about 5 minutes a day when it comes to internet use.

I learned to trust second-hand equipment for working needs and it's fine when you know the source of it is decent. Reliable sources are a must. Luckily, we have some, since it's good business for them, leaving happy clients behind. That would vary depending on where in the world a person is.

Adventures make heroes and great stories. The best way to gain experience points and level up.

You use your smartphone only for about 5mins? That's so not me, maybe because I have no pc or laptop. I use my phone almost all the time.

Posted via proofofbrain.io

I'm cutting down on my smart phone usage. I leave it home whenever possible! And even when it is with me, I leave it off, and turn it on only to check if someone who is very dependent on me has a problem. I have a landline, which always works and never needs upgrades.

Independence, your phone and adventure...Nice choices!

Having the freedom, (independence) to design an create life in the image we wish it look is of great importance; it can help us strategise and set goals which carry us forward towards what we can look upon in the future and call our best life. I think this is an excellent choice.

Of course, without your phone you wouldn't have been able to get involved so I'm pleased you have that too!

Thanks for joining in this week and I hope to see you around some more. Feel free to engage with some of the others here too.

😂 Thanks to my phone, I got to chat with you on this comment section... It's an honor. I've got to make sure I get a new phone before something happens to this one 😬

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Yes, I think it's smart to forward-plan so that you're not left without phone comms.

Hey, a phone saves lives. Sometimes it's the only way I can do some actual work. I love the other two. Being Independent is such a great thing. No responsibilities over anything but your own being and things. Bliss in words!

I love adventure so an important thing for me now is going to places, visiting new places I've only seen on tv like South Korean... It's in my mind to visit there someday so it's an important plan to me.

I hope you can get this done soon enough and embark on more and more adventures.

Phone saves lives indeed, I agree with you on that... I just hope I get a new one before this old one goes off totally

I'll keep my fingers crossed for that. Hopefully, a brand new will be in your hands soon!

Hopefully
I'll make sure to share it here 😊

I'll make sure to check it out! 😄

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Oh, yeah. Super Phone! It saves lives daily. However, its service zone is restricted to some places.

With that list, you might want to try riding a motorcycle! I certainly value 2 of your three very highly.

I love the convenience of the modern phone but could live without it just fine.

Yeah, I could live without a phone if I do have a pc or laptop so it's understandable

I grew up with a phone as a corded appliance on a party line with as many as 12 other families, so I'm not a real good phone user. I have really large hands so I hate typing on the small keyboard. That said, it is almost always with me when I leave the house and close by when I am home.

Ahaa you have big hands? Now I'm curious to see how big they are but there are phones that are also big even not as big as laptops.

It cool, nice you still have your phone close

I only know of 2 companies that build gloves big enough for me. That big. Size XXXXL.

There are companies that build gloves for football players that are plenty big, but I'm talking motorcycle gloves here. When I used to play golf I'd buy the biggest glove I could find and cut the fingers off :)

I started carrying a phone when I was caretaking my parents. In about 2001. The good news is that I quit wearing a watch shortly after. I have a 'contact' in my phone ICE. It's my brother and it stands for In Case of Emergency in case I am in a motorcycle crash. I also have a little tube that is attached to my jacket zipper pull that Emergency Responders will recognize as emergency information. Dress for the fall...

Wow this is so much about your hands to know about... I think I can imagine how big your hands are from all you said.

That means you spend more since there are companies that make your gloves specifically.

Quitting watch after having a phone... Hmm

Ah...me I can't do without my phone too o

I knew your phone will be in the list of things you will add to be important. You know, mobile phones play vital roles in the lives of people nowadays. If you desire to keep in touch with the globe and make ends meet, your phone must be a good friend.
Adventure? That's part of my bucket list for the year, to travel to Delta just to find you 🥰🤣

😂 Just to find me? Why am I feeling honored? Please your bucket list should start getting your attention so you will find me soon

Yes ooo. When you have the goose laying the golden egg, you gave no option than to secure it. So, I am coming to take you away.

😂 Please be quick o
I'm waiting patiently

Being independent really resonates with me as well! I hated being dependent on my parents, it made me feel very uneasy. It's great to now have the independence and know that I can make it by myself in this world

Exactly, and that is why we try to work harder so we could be less dependent on others and live life the way we want

Seems you just join in the fun, nice meeting you 😋

untitled.gif

uuuuhhh...I totally understand why your phone is on the list. 🤣 I don't feel well when my phone is not around. 🤣

😂 I can remember a day I was just getting angry at the most slightest thing all because my phone refused to function well.

My phone is very important, can't hide it

Hahaha..I totally relate. Here in our neighborhood we often have power outages. Then there is no internet either. Plus I can't charge my phone. In such moments it really feels like my life is over.😂

😂 That is just so much to bear with and I understand how you'd feel in such situation.
I'm even facing power outage and low battery right now but I'll overcome soon

Welcome! Nice of you to join!

I like your first point about being independent and I can see how that would change a person's life.
And as long as you're happy in that independence, keep it that way!

Ohh the mobile phone.... Sighs.. Yes.. It's a big part of my social life and my work so I totally understand where you're coming from with this one...

Yeah yeah, that's my number one for sure... Who doesn't want to be free to do whatever he likes?

This was a hard one because suddenly a lot of things which I cherish came to mind...but I still managed to pick my top 3:

  1. My calendar (okay so I know this might be a boring one BUT I NEED IT. I put everything in here even the smallest bit of tasks sometimes like cleaning). I do have a good enough memory to remember things without placing them in my calendar BUT STILL...I would be lost without it :/

  2. Sunscreen (yeah I am looking at all of you non-sunscreen wearers out there LOL). This is a must for me every single day because I BURN 🔥). Also, it is a good preventative measure towards anti aging.

  3. Pressure cooker (this has cut down my cooking time! I used to make this family braised beef recipe and it took hours but now with my pressure cooker, I can easily make dishes in under 20 minutes). Yup I like practicality.

OMG I am early for once 😭. It feels good.

Hahaha all the things I'm terrible at..!!!! I definitely can't do calendars... I fly by seat of my pants most times

Oh waaww, I went a complete different route and saw 'things' as concepts and not necessarily as items 😀 .
But I like the pressure cooker mention, it doesn't get enough credit!

Can we pressure cook some HD's..?

Juss' Sayin'...

Nothing wrong with a different approach. At first, I was going to give out answers that were more concepts based but I knew it would be a popular approach so I decided to take a different approach 😆

nine I love your play on with fonts 🤣🤣. You do it so well

Didn't have to be your top three, just three of them :)

One's calendar is a good choice as it's good to be organised. That help facilitate other things in life too, so can bring greater enjoyment from life.

Haha, I like the sunscreen one too. I'm in Australia where the sun is brutal so yeah, it's a thing.

Pressure cooker...You know you can't mention braised beef recipes without also sending an invite!

makes a note to invite you for the next time I make some good braised beef

I promise it's the one thing I can make decently! Ahem ahem it is grandma approved too 😉.

Summers in Australia are definitely no joke. I have seen several videos of them. 😅

With calendars, I just like the little feedback it gives me with what I need to get done and then I can peacefully do anything else I want.

I like your notes. 😀

Yeah, it gets super hot here and I hate it. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, being born here and all but, nope. It's 26C today and that's about as hot as I like it. It'll go to 47-48 eventually though and I'll melt.

Grandma approved? Now I'm more excited to have a taste of it... How do I get mine? 🙄

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Instead of shipping it over, it would stay a lot fresher if I simply teleport over there.

😂 😂 😂 Teleporting on my screen... Teleport to Nigeria then I'll know you really want to give me

I would love to one day travel more internationally and check out Nigeria. I have a friend who volunteered there.

Ha, ha, ha. Grandma approved foods are certified finger-licking goodies!

Is your grandma a rad G'ma? Mine isn't but she's cool!

What's braised beef?

It's just like a stew with beef that becomes tender and you can throw in lots of different kinds of vegetables. I have made vegetarian versions with no beef as well and they were also just as good.

Oh okay🤤🤤....I love anything that is sauce like especially if it's savoury

It is 9am here hahahahha and now I have gotten oddly hungry 🤣🤣. I do share the same sentiment as you 😉

Also let the record show that I do keep notes, just not on the calendar. I have 3 notebooks with in reach and at least another 3 more that are current and active.

Then we forget to look at the notes.... ha ha well I do!

Yeah. There is that, isn't there? Good to see you Joan!

Even when right next to you.... forget you do!

Trust you are well Tom, enjoy seeing you here once a week, miss your posts perhaps soon another ride? Take care!

woohoo! I commend you on your notebooks. I only have one with me hehehehhe.

 3 years ago  Reveal Comment

No, actually. 3 here by my desk and three near my study chair. I have at least 20 that are inactive...

 3 years ago  Reveal Comment

It didn't have to be our top three? Sigh. Re-reads instructions. Forehead slap.

Lol. I just asked for what three things are important. Any would have worked, didn't have to be the three top things, although I did ask what was the number one out of the three mentioned.

All good. A forehead slap is never wasted.

Thank you. I could keep doing it all day. I read somewhere that life is one continuous mistake. Seems about right. Also, it's a comforting thought. The continuous mistake, not the forehead slap.

Mistakes lead us into attitudes and actions that can help prevent them from happening...So, make more mistakes.

I like that. I had a team leader once in the corporate world who told me that if I was not making mistakes, he would take it as a sign that I was not doing any work. That's life, I think. If we sit on the sidelines, we don't mess up, but nothing happens. Easy on the ego, perhaps, but not really living.

😂 How did I miss that? Please @mooncity while bringing some for him, I hope you'd stop by my place to give me mine.

Braised beef seem delicious and I'll love to try it out

I like the fact that she's organized....I for one I'm very organized I can't deal with chaos...but instead of a calendar I deal more with 'to do' lists and notes

Chaos can disrupt the best laid plans. Best to mitigate it through strategies like notes and to-do lists. Great plan indeed!

I think my answer was too intense, by comparison. Lol. I am curious about what type of calendar you use. My life is chaos. I mean, I mostly like it that way, but it would be nice to inject a little order.

I know sunscreen is important, but I never use it. It's hard because, for one thing, I live in Edmonton, Canada which is North. Wayyyy North. We have about the same climate as Siberia. I remember reading about Siberia as a kid and feeling sorry for people who had to live there. I think imagining a place colder than my own home just made me sad. The joke was on me.

I recently got an instant pot, so I am right there with you about the pressure cooker. Except, if I am honest, my fiancé does 99.9% of the cooking.

Did you say which of the three was most important to you? I am a bit tired, so I might have missed it.

Smile.... Nice though ❤️❤️, cool places at times is not good, but if you ask me I'll prefer staying in cool place than places that are having high temperature degree, if the place is cool you can as well use clothes that will make you warm.

Nothing wrong with your response at all! I realized I took a slight bit of a different more casual approach than the rest of the comments.

I simply use a google calendar to inject some order 😆. I like the way you said it. Since everything is online, I figured an onlike calendar won't be all too bad.

I live in Toronto but it doesn't get super cold like Edmonton . Heard it can be as bad as -50 there. I will be sending some warmth your way ✨

You got me here! I don't do a lot of cooking either 😆.

Out of the three, I would pick pressure cooker. I have seen myself when I get hangry and it is something I try to avoid 🙃 hahaha. I feel you on the tired part. It is almost 1 am here! Glad to meet another fellow Canadian. I am too keen on checking out Alberta. The views are stunning there. I won't bother with international travel at all until I first check out Alberta and BC a bit more.

Not usually -50, but it has been -40 and it is often below -25. Crazy!

When you said the views were stunning in Alberta, at first I thought you were talking about the political views and I know, right? But then I realized you meant, like, the Rocky Mountains, Lake Louise, etc. And those are stunning also.

Hahahahah yess I meant the nature views. I have seen Jasper Lake in pictures when friends who visited came back and showed it to me. It looks surreal 💫💫

Phew glad to hear its not as bad as -50 all the time but still it can be quite cold! Tea is my savior during winter time. It instantly warms me up.

Hmm you live in Toronto!!! 🤭
This engagement fun is making me know more about you all 😊 and I'm excited about it

Posted via proofofbrain.io

yes merit! I do live in Toronto. I will be checking out more responses soon. It is very fun to learn bits and pieces about everyone here. I am excited to read about your response for the question 😉

Ahaaa I love your excitement, go on and read a little about me 😌
Keep engaging

😂 😂 You're a funny one, really.... Inject some order? That's a new way of saying what you mean and I think I'm taking that, thanks.

Your fiance do most of the cooking but I hope you try to cook some delicious meals for him sometimes just as a thank you and encouragement 😊

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Thank you. I try to be kind to him in many ways, but I think cooking for him would be more of a punishment for him than a treat. We have to accept our limitations in life.

I can cook rice quite competently. And toast. And warm up soup. He didn't fall in love with me for my cooking skills. You would have to ask him what the hell possessed him to ask me to marry him. The fool! Lol. (He says I am kind and funny, but I think he means kinda funny, which is not quite the same.)

The first ex Mrs. Big Tom could burn water. She once made an omelette thing that I decided to share with the cat when my wife was up getting more wine. She tried to bury it in the linoleum floor.

Which is when I mostly took over the cooking chores. You see, I love to eat :)

So you understand! However, I can make an omelette. One of the few exceptions. Also, I can provide almost endless amounts of praise and gratitude when someone cooks for me. Genuinely heartfelt!

 3 years ago  Reveal Comment

Ohhhhhh. Pink Chowder.

My ex actually had a dish she could make really well. It was for a clam bisque and her aunt wrote the recipe specifically for her. It really wasn't a recipe so much as two pages of instructions :)

😂 Someone is happy to be early for once, congrats on that dear.

I'm glad you know you could do without calendars but still choose to believe you'd be lost without them... Aren't you just getting me a bit confused here? 🤣 But it's cool though.

Please don't age fast, I want to see you when you're still very young and looking good 😊

What meal takes more than 2hours to prepare? That's a really long time, I might just have to go for snacks waiting for that... Well, glad you found a pressure cooker for it now.

Posted via proofofbrain.io

hehhehehe I have a super mixed approach with calendars. During very busy times, it comes handy but once in a while I can put it aside and use memory 😅😆

What meal takes more than 2hours to prepare? That's a really long time, I might just have to go for snacks waiting for that

I find that I take a lot of time with making tender beef stews! It takes a while to get the beef as tender as I want or maybe I am missing some secret tips

I end up eating random snacks and then lose my appetite by the time the dish gets cooked LOL. Welp atleast there will be lots left for the next day

Oh you do agree that that meal takes too much time and one has to settle for snacks first but it's cool you now have pressure cooler to make it faster.

That bubbling stuff... Is that what I think it is? Beef stew

Hhahaha yes it is the bubbling stuff. I found a gif for it. Mine doesn't look exactly the same (I usually add more veggies so it looks colorful)

That looks so sumptuous, I want to eat my screen right now 😋

Screen eating....

We have a hot dog overload situation in the comment section 😂.

Oh, early bird!

A little bit or organization keeps a brain working without worries. I get it that memory needs a fail safe from time to time. Is it a paper calendar? Or do you keep it digitally?

Sunscreen? Really? Well, I get it that people around other latitudes do not have a great melanin count. But the anti aging part sounds like a better need for it.

Ain't nothing wrong with being practical and getting stuff done in less time. Pressure cookers seem to be so good. So much that my cousin sent one to grandma so she can prepare stuff without using gas and taking less time. Bad thing she doesn't use it.

😂

I keep it digitally but sometimes I simply write it down on a piece of paper and pray I don't lose it (97% effectiveness guaranteed lol)

Weirdly enough, my face burns but rest of the body tans hehehhe

Pressure cookers seem to be so good. So much that my cousin sent one to grandma so she can prepare stuff without using gas and taking less time

I did the same thing with my mom. I sent her a pressure cooker but she never ended up using it 🤣. Maybe my mom and your grandma have been conspiring against pressure cookers

Ha, ha, ha. Oh, yeah. I don't write almost anything down because I tend to lose pieces of paper. But I think I should use my calendar more often. I used to when I was working as a VA.

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Sound like you are a lovely shrimp! (We say looking like a shrimp to people who get red-face from sun exposure)

I did the same thing with my mom. I sent her a pressure cooker but she never ended up using it 🤣. Maybe my mom and your grandma have been conspiring against pressure cookers

Maybe it is. I would definitely have one and use it a lot. Also a rice cooker. And my dreamed kitchen appliance: a stand mixer.

But seems we have a mystery in our hands.

untitled.gif

Are you using the aid of a microscope for what you could have been able to see with your eyes? You're so funny 🤣🤣

Not really, we have a little gif game going on, Moon and I. So whenever we can drop a gif to boost our comments, we take the chance! 🤣

Oh really? That sounds so much fun, I wish I could join but... I might wanna go solo 🤣

Sound like you are a lovely shrimp! (We say looking like a shrimp to people who get red-face from sun exposure)

hey you didn't have to indirectly call me short as well 🤣🤣.

I am sure stand mixers come in handy with all the baking you do. I remember a time when I used to use the good old whisk with my hands. It felt like an arm workout.

hey you didn't have to indirectly call me short as well 🤣🤣.

Well, I didn't actually know that about you either. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am sure stand mixers come in handy with all the baking you do. I remember a time when I used to use the good old whisk with my hands. It felt like an arm workout.

That's what I do. My arms are strong from all the woodwork, whisking stuff and playing instruments.

I am sure woodworking and all those other activities have definitely been helping out with arm strength. I shall be putting my whisk to more use.

What are you even talking about? xD

LOL as the saying goes: the way to a person's heart is through their stomach

 3 years ago  Reveal Comment

Of course, well, also bread as the stand mixer can help get dough ready for it rise.

Its a mix of both but I do prefer hands on paper notebook a lot more tbh.

Ha, ha, ha. I bet. But I'm the kind of pale latino that gets tanned. 🤣

It's all natural, babe! Ha, ha, ha, ha. I might even get tanned over there. I mean I've got enough melanin on my skin.

Ahhhhhh. That reminds me: I have an appointment with my dermatologist on Wednesday. To decided where to go next in the removal of bits that seem to have shown up late in life as a result of NOT wearing sunscreen. It just happens to be the only entry on the September page of my calendar :)

Which doesn't mean I don't like your list, I very much do. I just live my life a little differently.

Oh, and let the record show: I love my pressure cooker too!

untitled.gif

Hahhaha nothing wrong with a different approach!

I hope the appointment goes smoothly though!

It just happens to be the only entry on the September page of my calendar :)

Can't believe that this month is almost coming to its end. I feel like it just started.

I know! I love September because I grew up in 4 seasons country and September meant football and get ready for hunting season. I miss the fall weather.

Oh wow we have a hunter here! What do you usually hunt?

I no longer hunt, about 30 years ago I just decided to quit killing stuff. I'd have probably quit earlier but I had an extraordinary companion in the best dog I've hunted over. So I finished up with pheasant and ducks. But I chased geese and deer and elk earlier.

The fact that I quit shooting stuff not denied, I still identify as a hunter. I was talking to my brother the other day and he said he's done even pretending. The last 10 years he's gone to elk camp and not taken a shot. The other guys really appreciate his cooking...

Hahhahaha the geese here can be very naughty and confident. I remember minding my own business and giving them enough distance but one of them still approached me and we had an episode of a mini chase. There are a lot of them here though. One of my favorite running tracks is full of them.

The other guys really appreciate his cooking...

If he hunted as well as cleaned and cooked the animal then that's quite a lot of work! I remember going fishing and I had the opportunity to clean and cook it but I sat out on the cleaning part 😅. The smell was too strong. I was 12 around that time but maybe if I try fishing again, I think I might be able to manage the whole cleaning and cooking process.

Did you put @galenkp's weekend engagement post on your calendar?

I've pretty much ditched the thing. I have this crazy idea that my brain needs the challenge to stay young. Fortunately, I have so little to do that post-it notes strewn about the house keep me in line.

I don't wear sunscreen! I get out for short bits in the spring to tan my Mediterranean epidermis, and rarely burn. Lucky me!

I want a pressure canner.

Hahahaha this is the one thing I have not put into my calendar. I am forcing myself to not become too heavily reliant on calendars and remember the small things. I will save my calendar for bigger things

I can imagine post-it notes all over your house 🤣🤣. My room used to have it near my bedside table.

Glad you don't burn and speaking of Mediterranean, it is my favorite cuisine hands down.

I want a pressure canner.

OOoo somebody is planning on making some canned goodies 😏😏. What would you like to can?

This was my first year to can anything, and I did a bunch of tomatoes. Apparently, to can anything else safely, I need a pressure canner. Next year!

I have post-it notes everywhere. There is some method to where I leave them though. If they are in my purse, they are appointments. If they are on my kitchen table, they are immediate tasks. If they are on my desk, I almost never get to them. lol

Hey you are making good progress! I haven't tried canning but I want to try canning kimchi (fermented vegetables).

I like your method. There is structure to it!

Happy canning

I keep buying cabbage to make kimchii and never getting around to it. It's really very easy!!! Do it! And let me know how it turns out. I've fermented many other things, and only one batch didn't taste good, so you pretty much can't go wrong.

All different colors and sizes!!! Some of them are in play for so long they get tattered edges, and smudged ink. But I can't throw one away until the task written on it is done. Or written on a new post it note. That's my system. It works actually. I rarely miss a deadline.

Given up on post-it notes, got too many... forgot to read them!

untitled.gif

lol. I at least have to leaf through them, since I leave them strewn about my kitchen table and desk, and stuffed into my purse. One of the ones in my purse has the task "clean purse" on it. I leave myself little jokes to brighten my days.

😅😂🤣that pressure cooker caught my attention more as I feel you're such a foodie. You know, women or ladies won't do away with food, their live for the kitchen is second to none.

Hhahahaha I used to hate cooking before but I am trying to get back into it more 😂. Thank you for stopping by!

I used to hate it too. Later, when I had need of food but no one to cook, I learned to cook, preparing my recipe and making it special. Cooking can be fun.

Plan your days on the calendar (no time wasted), calendar has a big note not to forget sunscreen (fair skin and sun never go well together), back to the calendar to remind you to buy braised beef pieces, time to pull out the pressure cooker (appears you work to the calendar!).

Good for you you made it early too... must have been noted on the calendar, perhaps I should try that too 😄

Hahhahaha Joan I was in a bit of a luck to have landed here earlier without the help of the calendar 🤣. I love how you placed little lessons after each sentence! I am looking forward to finding your response to the qs galenkp posted. It might be a bit tough since there are toooo many comments around here 😅

I gave up on sunscreen and went for the full on hazmat suit with 60 SPF fabric.

LOL I can imagine you rocking one on the streets 🤣🤣.

Pressure cooker burns can be quite dangerous since it lets off steam.

Freedom. In every cell of my body, my entire being. Nothing made me realise it until the pandemic., but I really felt trapped when all the borders shut and our lives started being controlled to the nth degree. Then I realised that had always been part of me. I don't like being told what to do, or others defining me. Even in my relationship, I crave freedom, which I do get by spending time doing my own thing. Lucky I have found a man that supports that and doesnt feel jealous or resentful.

Nature is important to me as well. I struggle to understand how humanity doesn't value it as much as it should, as we are PART of this beautiful and intricate reality and what when we act in ways that harm nature, we harm ourselves. Every leaf, every bug, every waterway, every stone. It's all us.

Thirdly, though I expect my number three is part of my number 2 and number 1, is the ocean. Saltwater. Lifeblood. Womb. Mother. Dissipator of stress. Playground. Its the ocean i run to when I cannot bear life anymore, when I need flow, space, inspiration, restoration.

20210908_064508.jpg

I feel I should say family, my husband etc, but that feels like a given!

Freedom is very big on my list. It is truly the life source of my existence. I would best describe it with the element of air. breathe in breathe out

Would love to go on a vacation sometime closer to waterbodies so I can wake up to a stunning view. It's added to my list

Wow! so inspiring, being free is superb🥰

The thing I was thinking when I read your response is that I think you got the right answer! @galenkp said there were no right or wrong answers, but I think this might be the exception.

Freedom. Nature. The ocean.

Yeah. What more could we want? It makes me want to drop my phone, run outside, and drive 1200km to the nearest ocean. I love the ocean. It's a horrible mistake that I live so far from it.

I read "Walden," by Thoreau, many years ago, and it convinced me that most people are not living their lives in ways that are conducive to lasting inner peace and joy.

What an amazing answer. Gold star! Lol.

Freedom, nature and ocean?

Seems pretty legit I'd say and I know you have some freedom on the way so the other two will no doubt occur more frequently. Counting days yet?

struggle to understand how humanity doesn't value it as much as it should

Yeah, I do this too. I don't get how a person can value sitting at a café in the city over a thermos flask and a sunset over the water, or some such moment.

Good answers and pretty much what I would have expected from you.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Nature is really good to us , the work of nature is more complex than we at times can it imagine, secondly, that is so good to hear, seeing someone who take you the way you are is a thing of joy, because he would always be by you no matter what, he will treasures and understands what you want and why you need it, letting you spelt out your roles, I give him❤️, nice one happy to hear this

The freedom you craved for is a concept. In this temporal life, we are all interdependent. You can be free only to a certain extend, within a small personal space. We all have to follow a certain set of rules. 😊

As true as it can be, it's so sad to agree with you that we all are surely interdependent in one way or the other follow a certain set of rules.... Too bad 🤦‍♀️

Posted via proofofbrain.io

First of all, that picture of an ocean is so breathtaking... I had to pause for a while to fill my eyes with it and I love the feeling I got from it...

Freedom is worth craving for, just like being independent.... You get to do what you love at your own time and not being told to do so.

Nature is always at its best but we humans don't seem to appreciate it enough, I'm glad you're one of the nature lover 😊

After reading your comment, I moved straight to youtube, and listened this song.

Your comment has vibes of I want to break free..... God knows...I am in love with this song😂

untitled.gif

Is this why you love the song?

Best ever, loud!

I like it how all of this speaks of freedom in each thing. I feel some connection with the ocean part as I was born near the sea and see it every time I go out. It's just such a wonderful thing to see. And I love going to the beach, even though I haven't done in a while.

Amazingly enough, this sounds like the start of a creation myth. Like the waters of the Anu and Apsu coming together.

I recall that you WERE trapped, in a hotel for a very long time, with 15 minutes a day of outdoors on the roof, just like a maximum security prison in the US.

When you kill a tree, you kill a man.

Any body of water works for me, even a tiny pond, but there is something about the immensity of an ocean...

Thank you for not writing about hot dogs.

"Ditto" @riverflows got down today, like a pressure release on the pressurized cooker pot...

Interesting topic again @galenkp!
Self reflection for the win!

Health
I think the last year and a half has put an emphasis on health wether we like it or not. It's the silver lining I look at in regards to the whole C situation: a sense of gratefulness for what you do have.
And I'm lucky enough to be healthy, both physically and mentally!
I'm going to go ahead and call this the nr 1 too.. I mean it's the base of me living the way I want to live.

Communication skills
Also a broad concept but the ability to express myself, to express my thoughts and feelings seems like one of the most important things in any person's life. It also strong relates to my social environment, friends & family....
It could writing, talking (and listening), it could be teaching, coaching, art, photography.. Anything that communicates my thoughts, and therefor, puts some of 'me' out into the world.

Sense of adventure!
I love exploring, i love new places, I love learning and trying new things. It gives me energy, it helps me see the world differently (better in most cases)... I can't imagine me losing this.. It would make my life dull in comparison.

That's a great answer too. Health, communication, the ability to explore -- they are all so important. I think, often, we take the most important things for granted. Or maybe that's just me?

You are not alone..
I'm sure I took (and still take) a lot of things for granted. And the truth is we're not set up to appreciate everything all the time... So it's natural.
But I'm very much aware of these three

Health is a good one, and is likely to be popular. Without it one can't make life happen too well I'd say. I like the second two also and I think they could combine nicely too. We live in a world where communication is not necessarily done well so those that do so will stand out. Just my opinion.

And your opinion is so correct or maybe it's just our opinion 😊 communication rocks seriously

Posted via proofofbrain.io

😀

Health is key!

We live in a world where communication is not necessarily done well so those that do so will stand out. Just my opinion.

I agree.. And during the time the emphasis I feel was put in communication too, suddenly people craved it and went from mass to more quality communication.

Also look at me using the quoting option I learned 😁

Haha, yeah man you quoted! Nice work.

Covid definitely shined some light for me with the first two things you mentioned!

I had to get creative here and there and find ways to take care of health indoors and eventually outdoors too when everything went completely online.

With communication, this was the first time a lot of my inner circle friends and I stopped for a second...and actually communicated with one another since we were able to take a pause from our lives.

The pandemic taught us a lot of things and being creative was surely one of those things.

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Indeed you are right here! What creative things kept you sane during this time?

True! There is always a silver lining.

And to your point, I really focused on what I ate (indoors) and I used my yard and my neighborhood for exercise. Gotta be honest, and without any disrespect to people who suffered, but it did actually show me some good things I still apply today.

With communication, this was the first time a lot of my inner circle friends and I stopped for a second...and actually communicated with one another since we were able to take a pause from our lives.

And this is priceless!

but it did actually show me some good things I still apply today.

I had the same experience! It has made some things more balanced for me although there have been general downsides.

I'll say Health is important generally especially after the bad news if the Covid pandemic, I'm sure nobody wishes to be sick and that makes health very important to everyone.

You seem like someone who is good at communicating and I envy such people because I'm not too good at it but I'm trying to be at my best in it though.

Adventure is so much fun and I'm glad it's an important thing to you too

Posted via proofofbrain.io

True, it's always important but we (as humans) often take this stuff for granted so it was a much needed reminder.

You seem like someone who is good at communicating and I envy such people because I'm not too good at it but I'm trying to be at my best in it though.

Thanks! I'm just being myself, and this platform gives you that freedom too (I mean nobody knew me when I came in haha). And also not all forms of communication are for every, just go with the ones that work for you!

Well Done Sir.!

The man of thoughtful comes by again. Hmm... pretty good choices and well, you started when the strongest one. Without health there's nothing to do. And I wish people would take care a bit better of themselves and understand this.

About the other two, those get people an edge around other situations. One needs to be able to communicate to get most stuff done around the world. Exploring and else is just wonderful even little adventures bring joy around.

Thanks!

And I wish people would take care a bit better of themselves and understand this.

I actually think there is a shift towards more awareness nowadays. We still have a very long way to go but at least there is more info out there and people can adapt a bit.

I actually think there is a shift towards more awareness nowadays. We still have a very long way to go but at least there is more info out there and people can adapt a bit.

I think the pandemic did a very goo job showing people how they should pay attention inside. Hopefully, this won't be just a trend and will become a culture of self-care.

Adventure...I'm just too lazy, 😅I'd rather be sleeping

Toooooo lazyyyyyy I repeat using a longer pronunciation.
You better get your bags ready, we're going for an adventure

untitled.gif

Hahha no no! We're going! Time is of the essence! 😁

Communication skills is important in life no doubt, you will need them on an adventure. Good health is what we all yearn to pursue.
An individual who is not healthy may see life from another perspective. I love to seat back and experience the fairness of nature or technology or even travel to an unknown place. That's important too.

Highlight adventure cannot think of not enjoying the adventure life offers...

Doesn't have to be big, can be small ones too....

This reminds me so much of my stay in Kruger Park...

And yes I totally agree! We have to make the best of it here!

Which one did you play with @gvkanten?
Yup nothing makes you feel more alive than being in the bush!

Health is on my mind. Not mine, so much but my sister's. She entered Hospice care on Friday. The end is nigh.

I have another sister that I haven't seen for 40 years-her choice. A mutual friend told me that she is losing her fight to cancer, too.

Makes me and my brother the only two of five that have a chance at 70 (I'm there). Health can not be over emphasized.

I've always been one to 'go see'. I am certainly at my best when I am finding new places. My timing was perfect on one this summer. I was in Sequoia National Park and saw the largest tree on earth. It is currently wrapped in a huge fire blanket to try to save it from a wild fire...

Sorry to hear that...
I hope you and your sister make the best of the time you still have together. And that if the end is indeed nigh she has comfort in her final days.

Actually the comfort also goes for your other sister. With or without any contact.

My timing was perfect on one this summer. I was in Sequoia National Park and saw the largest tree on earth. It is currently wrapped in a huge fire blanket to try to save it from a wild fire...

Might have to add this to my list for my next trip to California 🤞🏾

Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP actually share a common border for quite a ways, and there are 3 National Forests for people like me that do stealth camping. Both are really cool places.

Also in the general same area, I recommend Lassen NP. It's beautiful, deserted and volcanic. Mud pots and steam vents abound. I was there last year and REALLY liked it.

The three things that are most important to me are:

  1. My mind - Specifically, maintaining my mental health to prevent depression and trying to keep myself healthy so that I don't develop dementia. Is it preventable? I think some types of dementia can at least be staved off a little. As for depression, some habits help maintain it whereas others tend to keep it at bay. It can still creep in sometimes, despite one's best efforts.

  2. My body - I have binge eating disorder, and my weight crept up over the years. Way, way, way up. Last fall, I found myself unable to stand for more than two minutes at a time. I believe in size acceptance. I know dieting leads me to further weight gain. However, I did not want to be immobile if it could be helped. So, with a lot of effort and extreme self-kindness, I used gentle exercise and combined that with techniques to overcome the binge eating. I lost 75lbs. Am I thin now? Hardly. However, I can walk again and I feel sane around food, and that's a lot. Continuing to exercise gently is very important.

  3. My fiancé and my cats - Technically, they are not just one thing. Or... are they? I just love them. And sometimes, they make me crazy. And I love them. Sometimes, I make them crazy.

If I had to choose one thing that was most important to me, I think it would be my body and exercising it gently. The reason is that everything else flows from this: My mental health, keeping depression at bay, having the stamina to work, and being able to be physically, mentally, and emotionally present for my fiancé and the cats.

(Since you said we could post a photo, here is a photo of Louie, my ragdoll cat. I would show a photo of my other cat and my fiancé, but they said no.)

@owasco (as requested)

Before I sleep or atleast try to, I really wanted to respond to your comment!

First of all glad to have you here. I haven't seen you around here before but it is a pleasure to meet you!

I definitely agree with the approach of exercising your body gently and going from there. Our brain is the powerhouse of our bodies just like mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. I am happy to hear about the progress you have made so far! That's seriously a lot to be proud of 👏 👏 👏 ❤.

Just keep it going one step at a time but don't overwhelm yourself too much. Sending you all the peace, love and support for your journey. Don't forget to congratulate yourself on the small wins! It counts

Also, that's a super cute cat. Cats are my weakness. I just want to pat its head. Oh well, let me just do it virtually through my phone

pats pats

Wow @mooncity I always love your response on comments but I want to confirm.... Did you just gave a virtual hug to a cat? Where is mine? 🥺🤣

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Merit nooooo I did not forget you 😂🤣🤣😆. Here is a hug for you ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Ahaaa I'm so happy now
That hug was so warm 🤗

Thank you for the encouragement. Louie thanks you for the virtual pets although he gets a lot of love in real life. He's a bit of a Daddy's boy, which is weird for me. I have never had a cat who preferred my partner. I sometimes feel like saying to Louie, "You know that your 'Daddy' didn't even WANT a cat? Do you realize that?"

However, it would be no use because Louie does not care. He and my fiancé are a mutual admiration society. Despite initially not wanting a cat, my partner is now completely delighted by being a cat Daddy.

I pretend to be a bit miffed that Louie shows such a clear preference, but, as much as I love Louie and would like for him to prefer me, I defer to cats' wishes.

Some people are adament that one should adopt a cat for life. I believe in that with a caveat (a cateat?): for life or until the cat decides otherwise. For example, years ago, I moved in with my Mom and I had three cats who also moved in. Two of the three fell in love with Mom. It was mutual.

When it was time for me to move out, I wanted to take all three cats, but I knew it was wrong. While they liked me a lot, for two of them, my Mom had become their new Mommy. The third one loved me unreasonably much (mutual).

So, with Mom's agreement, I left two of them with her. It was hard, but I still got to see them.

About the weight loss - Thank you for the encouragement. It's confusing because there is so much hatred towards large people. It is a socially acceptable prejudice. It took me years to be able to hold my head up and walk with confidence in the world and love myself as is.

I have so much more to say about that, but I will save it for a blog post. Or series. Lol.

"You know that your 'Daddy' didn't even WANT a cat? Do you realize that?"

First of all the name Louie is very fitting for your rag doll cat! I am sure the cat bonds nicely with you as well. I never owned any pets but I would love to have a cat someday.

I am glad you still get to see the other cats at your mum's place. It must be quite difficult to not see them sometimes especially when attachment is developed.

It's confusing because there is so much hatred towards large people

It sickens me how divided and judgmental people can become unnecessarily meanwhile corporations who create marketing campaigns to alter our thinking benefit from people who are in an endless cycle of changing every little thing about themselves because it was called a "flaw".

I look forward to reading your blog posts!

Cute cat, I'm for dogs and most other animals, humans not so much, am I crazy not sure! Animals chat, never back-chat giving one automatically a healthy body and mind 😄 you gotta be out there a lot more often!

Mind, body fiance/cat. Or is it the other way around?

Great answers indeed and as a total cat person I agree with that especially. I actually did a post a couple days ago listing some important things and Cleo featured there; my cat. Love her so much.

I really like this open and honest answer and am constantly amazed, after over four years on the platform, how amazing the community is.

Thanks for getting involved, your first time, and for your candid response. I hope you'll be back...And will come back to engage with some others also.

Cleo? Why do cats end up having cute names than humans? 🤣 Just kidding

Posted via proofofbrain.io

She's a cutie and her name is also I think. I named her Cleopatra but immediately I started calling her Cleo. She only gets Cleopatra when she's in trouble...But then again, I never get mad at her so, Cleo is it.

20201226_214049.jpg

😂 I could relate very well to calling names longer when angry but it's cool you don't get mad at her at all.

She's so cute and seem very relaxed on the couch... Nice

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Her hand is extended because we were holding hands; she likes doing that - I do too.

Aww. I had a cat who used to hold my hand also! Louie came with the name Louie (long story). We could have renamed him, but he was 11, and we didn't think he needed any further upheaval.

My other cat -- my daughter named her Patagonia. I have always called her Nia (the end of Patagonia). I got Nia when she was a kitten. She is 11 now. Louie is 14.

This is Miss Nia on my messy bed. She is a little black and white tuxedo kitty. She has a lovely little soul. The other day, I was feeling anxious, and she sensed it and came to sit with me all day. Louie is lovely, but a bit more self-centred, which is perfectly acceptable.

img_0.9584604185202835.jpg

Oh great, would love to hold hands with her someday 😃 I hope I'm welcomed

omg that's so cute😍😅

I tended toward thin my first 45 year but since I've gone fat. As long as I was still playing baseball I'd have to look to put on weight for the season. I REALLY like to eat.

I've been close to 300 pounds twice, I lost 75 pounds a couple years ago but got it all back during quarantine. I'm down about 25 headed for 75 right now with a diet I think will be sustainable for me.

The ONE thing I've done is remain active. My dog and I are waiting for sunrise and our morning walk. About 3 miles for me and probably 5 for him.

Anyway, that is my way of saying that I understand your list and certainly agree with it-except for maybe the cat part :)

Thank you for sharing that with us.

Wow! Glad to know that your finance also make you happy and the cat, is he sleeping or not feeling too well?

Thank you. I wish my finances were making me happy! Lol. Was that a typo? That is a happy, sleepy kitty who has a financially strapped Momma, who is engaged to a lovely man. Honestly, my pecuniary situation has been worse, but it could be better.

I love what you ended it with... It could be better and that's for sure, it's nice knowing you @harlowjourney now, that name is not gonna leave my head anytime soon 😂

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Wow these are really important to you from all you said, and I could relate to the first one very well. I had a bit of a conversation with my friend whose mother has some mental issues because of a prolonged depression and it just happened that she has been hiding her pains for a very long time.

I'm glad that you're very much aware of anything that could happen and you're taking precautions now, ts best that way because you'll surely be fine and be able to avoid it.

So long you're doing what you need to do, your body would be in the shape you want it to and I could tell you are doing what's best for you.

That cat is so adorable and I love the name 😊 a male or female cat?

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Thank you. You are very kind. It is amazing how many people hide their depression. I did for many years. I always had a big smile. Most people would not have guessed I think.

What's funny about depression (?) is that people often think it is sadness. Mild depression can feel like sadness, but more severe depression robs a person of the ability to feel anything. Joy, love,... It can be like standing in a vast grey field with a grey horizon. There just doesn't seem to be a point.

Fortunately, there is treatment. Unfortunately, when people are depressed, one of the things depression does is to convince us that everything is hopeless and treatment cannot possibly work. That is the essence of why it is a terrible illness.

I am grateful that it currently fluctuates between being mild and in remission, depending on the week.

convince us that everything is hopeless and treatment cannot possibly work

I've never thought of this, it's so true... One would feel no excitement to live again so treatment won't have effect on the person... So sad

Awww... Such nice things. Keep mind and body in synch and everything will be ok. Mental health is such an underrated concept, but the pandemic has shown once again how important it is to keep a healthy mind. Bodies as our vessel also need some love to keep going.

Man! That cat looks beautiful. I feel the need to pet it! Even if it bites me! 🤣

😂 I don't it would bite you or will it?

untitled.gif

One never knows with animals. 🤣

Thank you. I agree that mental health is under-rated. Louie is a ragdoll and he loves attention. He would love to be petted as long as you stay out of the "no fly zone," which is his tummy. No one is allowed to touch the tum tum or they do get bitten, but he bites in slow motion, so it is quite easy to avoid.

(He does everything in slow motion. It is a side effect of his breed I think (ragdoll). We got him secondhand. I love ragdolls, but I prefer to get cats who are desperate for a home. Despite being beautiful, after his first human passed away, no one wanted Louie because he was 11. I wanted him a lot. I was grateful.)

Indeed. It's an underrated issue. Ha, ha, ha. Ok, I'll keep my hands away from the tum tum. Though the slow motion bite sounds enticing. 🤣

Thank You.

😂 Food again? Don't you ever stop? It's cool though

How on earth do you have time to read all these comments?

#1 My first thought/feeling on or about anything or, especially, anyone. I believe my first, split second, notion about anything I have just encountered is the truth. It hasn't been affected by logic, words, or my neuroses. After a few seconds, this is no longer true, so I try to register that first, fleeting thought. If I can do this, I am never wrong. It's not always possible. I'm getting better at it.

#2 My son, who is completely dependent on me for all his needs. This can seem like a burden at times, but, in truth, I have become a more compassionate, less self-centered person. I needed this. He is a being of light. I am very lucky.

#3 My ability to see options! I may be "trapped" in my home caring for an invalid, but my mind is free to wander, to write, to learn, to imagine, to dream, to grow. Hive, for instance, is an enormous opportunity to travel the universe.

Your answers really made me think. The first one about your first thought about things-- that reminded me of everything I have been learning about the subconscious mind. We have the illusion that our conscious minds are in charge, in the "driver's seat," so to speak. However, behind the scenes, it is our subconscious that is able to think much faster and process millions of times more information.

So, with that processing power, it sends us a message. We sometimes call it "instinct." It is hard to rely on this message when we don't understand where it comes from, but I think it's great that you have learned to trust it and value it.

Taking care of your child sounds so challenging and I don't know whether you have written more about that elsewhere. If not, and if you want to, I think you should consider it. When my daughter was little (and now, but she is an adult), she was seriously mentally ill. I did not understand why parenting her was so hard.

It's not the same struggle as yours at all, of course. In fact although she had no diagnosed disorder until she was an adult (despite my taking her to the doctor), I often used to be very grateful that she was as well as she was. She screamed and raged often, and I would tell myself to be grateful that she had a voice, that her lungs functioned well. It was hard to be grateful that someone was screaming at me. However, one must take small victories at times.

I was very moved by what you said about your mind being free to roam even though you are kept at home in a caregiving role. That is the magic of reading, writing, and the internet. However, I hope you have some opportunities for respite. Even short breaks can help.

I was also moved that some of the very things that make life challenging for you are what you are glad to have.

Thank you for your deeply felt and thought comment. I find the parents who are most likely to understand me are those who struggled with similar events. I think some of my son's problems today are very much because I did not listen to my first instincts, I did not say no, I afraid of being wrong. But more problems come from that thought, that fear of being wrong.

Thank you for being moved. If you have placed a comment on this post, would you please tag me on it?

It sounds like you have done your best. It is hard, as a mother, not to feel guilty at times, and it sounds like you blame yourself a little. However, when I feel guilty (which is often), I try to ask myself how the guilt helps the situation. Since it does not help nor does it make me feel good, I try to forgive myself for my errors.

It's not easy. I don't know if you also struggle with this or if I am reading you incorrectly. Sometimes, it really feels like motherhood is synonymous with guilt. I think you have had to be very strong.

You're making me wanna cry with your response to @owasco comment

You can't cry. If you do, I will cry because I triggered it, and then we will all be crying!!!

That first important thing you mentioned got me thinking... A first notion about anything and anyone 🤔 I may have been over looking that. Thanks, I learnt something new again.

I love your son already.... A being of light? Wonderful one

Well, we are all beings of light. Some shine more brightly. Some blaze, and many, sadly, have dimmed their own lights.

Trusting my first instinct has never let me down. It's when I second guess myself, listen to so-called experts despite the warnings going of in my head, that always goes wrong. Always. We know what to do for ourselves, far better than anyone or thing else does.

I understand, thanks for the further explanation... I'm learning more about first notion 😊

Wow the first point is an interesting perspective! I am glad this approach works out for you. Generally, I have noticed that my gut feelings or intuitions about a person or situation don't fail me but I wait it out until I see more clarity and act accordingly.

I have become a more compassionate, less self-centered person.

You do radiate a lot of compassion. Hive is quite international.

How on earth do you have time to read all these comments?

It takes effort.

Our initial thoughts on something are often the lasting thoughts. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't, is something I say a lot. We form opinions quickly and whilst they cam be wrong and we may have to change or amend them, mostly that intuition will be accurate. A good call here, and an important thing.

Your son? of course.

I really like your third one. We may seem trapped in place, but in our minds we are free and whist it's not quite the same as being able to go out and do things, one can find a certain enjoyment, fulfillment, from imagining and experiencing things via media like Hive for instance. I write a lot which is how I explore my imagination and range outwardly, inwardly.

#3 My ability to see options!

That is a very important ability in my opinion, you sometimes have to look and look but there are always options, even if finding them can be a pain in the ass.

That 'still little voice'. I've learned to trust it implicitly over the years. I DO listen to it, too.

You son is fortunate in his choice in mothers. I was also...

There IS always a choice, isn't there? It's a rare human who knows and explores them.

I had to be backed into a few corners before I learned how to do it. A lack of options is usually a compulsive refusal to let something, or someone go. Many feel they have no choice regarding a certain medical treatment, and are ignoring their inner voices on the issue, but that is simply not true.

I was lucky he chose me too.

Thank you for your understanding of my words.

Let me talk about those three things which are important to me and what I prefer most. It’s a hard question which is hard to answer as all three which I am going to explain are equally important to me.

But if I have to write about my first, it’s got to be my laptop. I am nothing without my laptop, walking shoes, and camera (s). But let me put them in this order.

The laptop

Walking boots

Camera

DSC09427.JPG

I could have kept the camera in second place, but then I gave it another thought and kept my shoes in second place. See, my life depends on my laptop, whether I am working in my office or working from home, so it’s got to be my laptop in the first place.
Image from my Katoomba, Blue Mountain Collection
We all agree that hobbies make a person’s mind stress-free, or in my case, relaxed, and it removes unnecessary tension from my brain. I feel like walking, jogging, biking, and running are my stress-busters, so my walking gear, especially the shoes, comes in second place.

Then comes my camera. I am a nature lover, so I love taking photos as often as possible. Let me make it clear here that I take no gadgets with me during my morning walks, but I never leave my camera behind when going out for fun.

Three important things to get these nice photos right to us and well get some work done as well!

Thank you!

You're welcome! 😄

I understand why your laptop is more important than the others you mentioned... Dreemport and Hive is on it 😃

untitled.gif

Hehe, these two are my hobby but my offline job is on it :) I work full-time through my laptop and stay connected with the whole world. Thank you!

I agree with your assessment of hobbies and how they can value add our lives so having good hiking boots is essential to that in my opinion. Also, th camera and laptop sort of go hand in hand as they can deepen the experience one has out in the wilderness through the photography and sharing it through the computer.

Nice answer.

I was surprised to see that another chose camera, I love having my camera also, it helps fill the memories and aids in recalling the memories from times past.

What else is important to me if not the weekend engagement topic: each time I am around here, I catch fun a lot and get to read others peoples views for the week. And how @galenkp would reacts to each of the comments made under the weekend post.❤️❤️

Secondly, seeing that I am improving in speech making, like before I was This kind of shy guy, that do not talk much in public, not like I would not know what to say though! But was always a kind of fear in me.

Lastly, being able to get a new place for myself and being comfortable is what also makes me happy and it's important to me that it was achievable ❤️❤️❤️❤️

If you don't ask no one knows... If you don't talk, how can we? OK you makes huge strides overcoming that shy, good to chat!

untitled.gif

Thank so much 🥰

Those are some huge accomplishments: getting a place and overcoming fear of speaking up. Can I ask how you have overcome your fear? What do you tell yourself? What steps did you take? I am curious because I have had clients who had difficulty overcoming this fear, and it's really not easy. It's a process. You should give yourself a lot of credit for this. Maybe you already do :).

I am enjoying my first time engaging on this weekend engagement also... weekend engagement-- not just for the weekend!

It is great to meet you.

Thanks you so much for your kind words 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Wow! I Feel so love tonight, it is a pleasure to meet you too.

The technique I adopted in overcoming fear and it works for me was through the following:

I make sure that I feel refreshed and whole again at all costs.

At time if I am in a gathering, i will try as much as possible to make a speech, stand by it and make sure it was rated above average.

whenever I am to make a speech, I will make sure that I perceived with courage, in such a way that, no one would ever want to oppose me.

Always imagine what May be the truth before making assumptions on any subject matter.

I also believe that I am not perfect and not better than anyone but on the other hand, also believe that I can contribute immensely, which may in turned help the overall Broad goal.

I try as much as possible to be happy, because happiness refreshes ones mind.

It seems like you are overcoming quite some milestones! Very happy for you 😊. Weeknd engagement is a great gateaway for some of the speech skills you mentioned

Keep up the progress one step at a time.

Thank you so much ❤️

Haha, great answer indeed! ✅

It's good to know you're having fun here and I hope you're building some good relationships also. That's what it's for.

Also so great that you're feeling more open with your communication, that's a great and very important aspect.

Well done and keep it up!

Thank you so much 🥰

It's my first time experiencing this weekend engagement and I must say I understand you when you say you catch a lot of fun from it.... Where have I been? 😂

Being shy and not wanting to talk in public places was also my difficulty until I broke out of it... I'm glad you're coming out of it too.

I want to ask, which do you prefer now "Being open in public and being shy?"
And then what would have been your response if you were still the shy type?

Please don't mind my too much question 🙈

Posted via proofofbrain.io

I did and now I am better, getting the best of me all the time, thanks that was pretty encouraging🥰

untitled.gif

Keep coming around these activities and those speech skills will skyrocket to infinity and beyond!

Lastly, being able to get a new place for myself and being comfortable is what also makes me happy and it's important to me that it was achievable ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm so happy for you!

untitled.gif

Where's my hug? This is also my first time participating in this engagement fun.

untitled.gif

Smile.... Yours Is coming next week ✌️, keep calm is my turn now 💃

Ha, ha, ha. There's hugs for everyone. Especially for people engaging and having fun!

untitled.gif

😂 😂 Great! Now, I feel more welcomed and very warm 😊

Ha, ha, ha. Glad to help and welcome you to this nice event!

Wow! That's so sweet, thanks so much ❤️❤️

This seems like the most interactive community on here

You are really right, we rise, it is one of the best and you should always come around too, same time, all week 🤝🤩

1 Good Intent (What for? To pave your road to Hell with it?) — If we do not strive to make things better (But for whom?), what else are we here for? Are we sentient beings? Our egoism dies with us (and is sometimes remembered). Our deeds that influence others for the better, live on forever (or happen to be quickly forgotten).
The funny thing about the school of stoicism, as I read it in Marcus Aurelius's works, is it calls for us to be our best selves because it doesn't matter anyway. And good intent without a proper knowledge of the reality of the situation (good luck finding this BS)...often brings ill effect.

2 Education (We don't need no...) — Come on, I'm not playing a brick in any walls (and who mentioned reality above), I'm trying to set y'all free, bring down your walls. Education has many aspects. I am not talking formal education, marks, diplomas, etc. I am talking curiosity, knowledge, usefulness, improving yourself and your community by becoming more skilled and thus...more powerful (Ah, so it's power we're after. Not a brick at all)...You don't need to know everything. You need to know your things (You know your thingie pretty well, don't you? Lots of good it does ya).

3 Action (Oh, come on! It's my turn to say at least one thing, shall I?) — All right, dude, I guess it's only fair.

3 (Fun — Can't survive without it. No point surviving without it. Period.)

In the end, the most important thing is to remember...

Nothing is important.
Everything is important.

Wow I love your mindset, it's so unique and I bet you would be a good person anyone should know from all you said here.

Having good intent in a world as ours is super nice, I can imagine a world with people having good intent... Things would be way easier.

Education? I may be a student struggling to come out with an excellent result but I don't think I hold such education highly like you said, being skilled and growing your knowledge in so many ways is what I call the best and breakthrough education.

Fun!!!!!! 🤭 Who doesn't love fun? Fun is a part of me too.

Hahaha I love what you ended your cimemt with... Totally agreed

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Yeah, I'm talking all kinds of education. Parent-to-kids education. Financial education. Human rights education. Critical thinking and judgement of information, etc.

Yeah, don't forget to have fun!

Yeah, I understood what you meant very well and for sure, I won't forget to have fun.

How about you share some of your fun with me, mine wouldn't be enough 🤣

Posted via proofofbrain.io

But I'm doing so, sharing my fun with the whole blockchain and often enough ;)

Oh yeah, I could feel it already
Nice meeting you @manoldonchev

Good intent, education and fun...Nice options to choose.

I especially like your passage about education as it talks about the various different types of education where at first glance most wold probably assume school and university. We learn things every day, or have the opportunity to, and it's the smart people amongst us who take that opportunity.

Fun? Yep, I can't disagree with this either.

Thanks for getting involved this week, I really appreciate it.

Are you writing a new Meditations book to try to get Marcus Aurelius out of business? Because I see you're on to it.

In the end, the most important thing is to remember...
Nothing is important.
Everything is important.

I love this bit. Always end up going out wiser into the weekends!

No business is forever safe and of all people he should have known that. I go into this with no...the hell did these thunderstrikes mean!?

Ahhhh, yes. Our old friend Marcus. We just as well do good since it doesn't matter anyway...

I'm a (mostly) self educated man. I was never a very good student because I saw so much bullshit in the presentation that I could never just pick out the nuggets that teachers offered.

If I'm not having fun, why am I doing this? Sorta rolls back around to MA.

Right. In a sense, it's good to have fun in everything you do. Possible. Fun comes from within.

  1. Peace of mind 2. health 3. independence

I think nothing is more important to me than peace of mind. When you have peace of mind, you will not have emotional turmoil caused by all the unpleasantness and strife around you. We all know emotional stress can make you sick.

Good health - it is obvious. What is life without good health. Suffering! And that is no way to live.

Independence - I like to be independent. I don't like to have to depend on others. Unfortunately, no man is an island and we are all interdependent on each other.

You know? I was pretty black and white about my health for much of my life. Like "I hope I die before I get old" sort of black and white.

Well, I didn't. Die before I got old. I now have a much different appreciation about 'suffering' and how much is acceptable in the course of life. Just sayin'

I understand completely about independence. When I ride my motorcycle I am always helmeted with armored pants, jacket and gloves. I get asked why I wear all that shit fairly often. My answer? "I just want to be able to have a chance to wipe my own ass after I fall down." Notice I didn't say 'if I fall down'. It's been 40 years since I've been down on pavement, I'm probably about due.

I understand what you are saying. I don't fear death, or dying young. I fear needing someone to wipe my ass. But let's not tempt fate. Let's all live to wipe our asses till the last day. 😀

Good plan. I'll have one of my nephews let you know how that worked out for me :)

Good health and peace of mind are so important and I might want to say it's a general important things for everyone so if others don't mention it, it's still important to them.

Independency rocks! Life being independent is so amazing, you get to choose what you want for yourself and be happy your own way with out dictations and all.

Nice to know what you hold dear, I'm kinda new here 😊

Posted via proofofbrain.io

You are doing very well. 😊

You've picked out three really valuable things of importance that I think many would also choose, and rightly so. Peace of mind is especially important as it can allow one to form a solid platform for many other things to launch from. Like you say, it can help to mitigate turmoil and strife.

A nice comment and thank you kindly for getting involved this week.

I am not very good at expressing myself. But you get the gist of what I am trying to say.

My pleasure.

I did indeed. Thanks for your participation.

These are thing I believe I can't leave out of my life. Peace of mind is such a incredible thing to have and to cherish.

I am glad to hear you feel the say way too. Cheers!

Aye, Peace of Mind is a great album, indeed. Its importance shall echo through the ages.

So sad to observe that independence is on the retreat. It's all part of the normal cycle, I guess...Sigh

But you know what album is my favorite? Most wouldn't expect it. Brave New World.

Thank you for your comment. 😊 Have a great weekend.

So, the Oracle learned how to narrow questions down for the better. And man, geez, this sounds like a test! 🤣

Let me see:

Three important things in my life. First, learning; second, making mistakes; third, stepping aside.

It's not new to say I like learning about new stuff and how to do other things. If I would stay idle, my guess is I would go crazy. Maybe out of boredom, or anxiety. Perhaps, both. I like to keep my kuckleheady walnut busy. And I know know that I'll stop learning stuff when I die. But that remains yet to be seen

About the second, I remember girls at high school crying and crying like babies when they did something wrong. And I've met a lot of people who are fixed on being perfect when they aren't. Expectations make people believe they cannot get anything wrong. So they deny themselves the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. I make a lot of them daily. When I write, oh, my... I do like 20 drafts until the stuff is done. When learning to do something, well, the count goes up. But mistakes are the chance for iteration. And on each of these one can see the progress.

Now with the weird one. So, back in one of these activities someone mentioned the ability to let petty problems solve themselves. I like this and practice it daily. From Aikido I learned that confrontation happens when needed. And for most problems, you just need to step aside. This gives you the chance to keep moving or handle the problem from another angle. In life, it's also this ability to get off you world for a moment a watch it from the outside. It's a problem-solver thingy. Very useful and necessary.

Now I realize I didn't talk about people or material stuff, but I tend to go around groups and be around some people and then not. Material things, well, they are useful but don't own me.

Your choices are legit and suitable. I didn't necessarily mean material things when I asked the questions although know they 're important too. A wheelchair to a disabled person for instance. Your answers are just as valid and I like how you've explained the logic behind them, how they relate to you.

Gaining knowledge, (learning) and applying it will mean failure, (making mistakes) and that's a process to be valued. Stepping aside (detaching) is a nice way of seeing the big picture, of learning through gaining that arms length so one can evaluate the entire thing. So...Legit Andres. Good answer,

It was an iteration of answers. I had to pick one because there were too many choices going in my mind, but this looked like a satisfactory one. Glad you liked it, Galen.

You did well. I'm sure there's a gazillion things you could have said, like anyone, so well done isolating a few.

Thanks for the follow also.

Man I don't get it why my followings are dropping so often. Maybe it has to do with the connection. I don't know! 😅

Lol. I know right? All good man, I know you'll always drop by. There's obviously a glitch somewhere.

HIVE doing its usual thing! 😂

I love learning! That is a great choice. Learning is so important, always getting to know more things, figuring out what you do like and what you don't like!
I think that's maybe what saved most of us in the pandemic, picking up new skills and new hobbies to keep busy and learning, without it we would have died of boredom in our bubbles..

Indeed! A lot of learning has been going on during these harsh times. I bet online courses have made a fortune.

without it we would have died of boredom in our bubbles..

No doubt!

Oh man any service that managed to offer something online was booming I bet. I myself didn't do that many courses, but I learned how to knit! What did you learn during the pandemic?

Making bread, more woodworking, origami, excel, yoga, and there's a lot more!

Here I am, and it's not even 5 O'clock there? What's a man to do?

I don't know if I could say this but you're weird 😂 but guess what! Being weird is just so cool... Who loves to make mistakes like you? Not me but I guess I'll start loving it from now.

Stepping aside does a lot of help in some situations, I could relate to that.

untitled.gif

Ha, ha, ha, ha. I know how weird I am. You don't need to tell me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Stepping aside does a lot of help in some situations, I could relate to that.

I'm glad.

untitled.gif

I'm glad we agree on how weird you are and it's really cool like I said... Uhmm where are you going to right now, getting people out of the way.

Ha, ha, ha. Always moving and going somewhere. Usually it's a fridge assault!

😂 Keep moving then

I'm always moving! 🤣

I know too many people who have been pressured to maintain some made up image of perfection and boy did that only bring trouble and burnout. Glad it was a lesson they learned earlier on and now it is back to balance.

I couldn't agree more with the last part. I have no time or use for petty problems. I simply let them run their course but key thing for me is to not get too riled up about it.

It is necessary to stop giving ourselves such hard times for appearances and perfection when it's an unachievable thing. I'm glad you could find it out early in your life.

I couldn't agree more with the last part. I have no time or use for petty problems. I simply let them run their course but key thing for me is to not get too riled up about it.

It's a good thing to do!

It wasn't my lesson to learn lol but rather few friends. I do agree with you about the unachievable part. :)

I see. Well, it's also good that way. 😜

What a wonderful, thoughtful comment!

Good to keep the old melon current, else it'll get mealy and soft, right?

Making mistakes means I'm still in the game. When I started water skiing my mentor said "If you aren't falling, you aren't trying."

Damn straight. God knows the amount of waste in my life before I learned that I could at least stop and maybe even back up to give things time to sort out. I'm sure most of them would fit into the previously mentioned 'mistake' category.

There's still a lot to be learned and get good at those things.

Damn straight. God knows the amount of waste in my life before I learned that I could at least stop and maybe even back up to give things time to sort out. I'm sure most of them would fit into the previously mentioned 'mistake' category.

It isn't an easy thing to understand. But seems you're on the right path with it not.

I'm sure most of them would fit into the previously mentioned 'mistake' category.

I'm sure they do as now you understand that not paying attention to them is a better option.

Well, since I'm about 300 comments ahead of where I entered this last weekend, I'm going to take a run at the main question right away.

1: My intellect. I'm a very curious (both definitions) individual and I want to know how things work and how they got the way they are. Not some things, almost everything. I'm pretty able to puzzle through most things that pique my interest.

2: The world, the real world. Preferably the bits with not very many people in them. I am just really happy when I am out blundering about in space and time. I love riding a motorcycle to and from, it's way more connected than an air conditioned coffin. I'm pretty good in the back country and go routinely.

3: My senses. I think it goes with the other two. I catalog smells and touches and sights and sounds with my remembrance of a place or thing. It's certainly part of it and I'm really glad that I get to experience it all.

I want to know how things work

that is something I can relate to from when I was a kid. I once took an old Royal typewriter completely apart. and I mean completely, I snapped welds and took the little letters off of all the stems. It was fun, it actually took a long time to take it all apart, of coarse I was never able to put it all back together, but that did not matter.

We (my brother and I) had a motor from a gas powered Maytag washing machine. We'd take that thing apart and put it back together to see if we could make it run again. It was huge fun...

Having an inquisitive nature is a strength. Sure it can come with its own set of issues, like can't get enough information to sate my curiosity, but to be curious is important.

They say, curiosity killed the cat, but how limiting is the lack of curiosity, best to take a look, gain the intel and go from there.

The world. Yeah, legit I agree. Best to be out there as eventually we'll not have the chance, and the last, senses. Where would we be without the ability to process the information right?

Legit answer.

Curiosity carried to my extremes can sometimes be a weakness, that is for sure.

When I wrote the bit about senses I was specifically thinking of the smells you get on a motorcycle. In a car you have artificially scented air to ease you into your seat for the long ride. On a motorcycle you can clearly smell the difference between a cattle feedlot and a hog farm. Or smell the flowers that the bees collected honey from to take back to the hive.

I get it...It's an amazing feeling indeed. I really want to get a bike again...We've talked about it before I guess. I will.

I'm dreaming of a place I know, where you start up out of the desert then drop down into a sub alpine meadow. Nice, really nice corners for a couple of miles before you start going up with a purpose. There is a bee keeper that lives in that hollow (there's a little used to be town) and you can SMELL the flowers and honey as you ride through. It's maybe 120 miles of good ride from here....

You're purposely making me want to get another motorcycle right? Lol.

And which is most important? You got be curious there... 😬

You love to ride motorcycle? Can I join you in one of your rides? It's an adventurous move indeed

untitled.gif

Of course you can come. I'm older and ride a more protected ride, in fact I'm just about to buy a different motorcycle that is built for two up. Like this:

Goldwing.jpg

😂 I'm feeling so honored, hope I'll be the first to ride on it with you.. That bike looks awesome and it could go faster from the way I see it.

It's adventure time!!! 🤭

They are reasonably fast. I've owned much faster motorcycles. It is REALLY comfortable out on the road. Honda engineered it to be so.

I could tell from what I'm seeing... Nice one

Hahahha indeed you made it in time before we have a flood of comments!

Curiosity is a good one! I can think of several things I started simply because they seemed interesting and eventually I wanted to go even further with them.

My sense of smell is quite strong (sniffwizard) and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My sense of smell isn't acute, but far above average. Most of my life my vision was really good. Age is taking some of that away from me but I still see well.

We had an old fart for a neighbor when I was just little. He had to start wearing glasses for close work and reading probably in his late 50s. I remember my dad giving him a little grief about his glasses and he replied "I can still see a pheasant shit at 30 yards (30m)" I was probably 5 and just thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever heard.

Hahahhaha that gave me a good laugh too 🤣😆.

oh man @galenkp you're driving me into deep self doubts with this question! 🤣 first I thought, oh yes this is an easy challenge this time I can jump over my bad english and write something for this weekend engangement.

I thougt. Ok, just some paper, pencils and my guitar. sounds good, isnt it? 🤣 but thinking further.... oh and my hand creme! my Camera ... dental floss!!!!!! .. and for sure my guitar playing is not that good, so better choose my musik collection.

So I thougt. OK. I can take creativity stuff, music and body care. but...... and thats where I came really into struggeling... I forgot my friends! OMG I simply forgot them for a moment. And I am also a great coffee junkie, without coffee???? whuuu and HIVE!?

would I leave my friends for handcreme? never again hear music for keeping my friends? would I really do that?

than I started reading the other entries here... hmmm freedon, health. I'm a materialistic girl! shame on me. 😎

finaly I came to this 3 things:

  1. coffee with my friends ( clever isnt it?)
  2. creativity stuff (inkluding pencils, guitar, shmartphone with camera, hive and music)
  3. bodycare (dancing, walking, dental floss AND hand creme)

Lol...I had a laugh reading your preamble, the bit at the start before your three choices. Nicely done!

Coffee with friends...Sneaky joining two things together. Well, sneaky and clever.

Creativity stuff...An all encompassing item that includes many items. Sneaky once more.

Body care...Hmm, clever once again; an answer that includes many answers.

OK, I'll pay it...Even just for your cleverness! 😀

Thanks for joining in.

Good morning from Austria and thank you :-) makes me happy that I made you laugh. As you have seen, making decisions isnt really one of my strenghts

Wish you a wunderful sunday

Austria is almost like Australia, sort of. Ok, not really. 😂

Yeah, you gave me a laugh and that's a good thing. I hope you also have a great Sunday. Mine is almost over, 18:30 here, but I'm going to park myself in front of the TV and relax after a day working around the house, so I'm looking forward to that.

Enjoy Sunday.

Sun shining bright at the moment :-) 11.10h

Just saw your gardening posting. They all look healthy and strong. And harvesting the first strawberry within 3 weeks is a great result

I've already started taking pictures of the "how to make more plants out of your strawberries" process. I'll tag you when I put this posting online in some days.

Good evening to the other side of the world! :-)

It looks like a great day!

Oh yeah, please tag me in that post, I'd be keen to have a read.

ok I'll think of tagging :-)
now the rain came, so probably one of the last really warm sunny days for this year.
good night, sweet dreams

Clever wicked little answers, brain working overtime!

Loved creative mind through this response!

Thank you :-) was just the essence of my thoughts going round and round with this topic

Thought counts in the moment, doesn't it?

So, important things huh...I have countless of them I notice now that I think about it. But 3 of them I would like to mention anyway are: my own karma, my independence and my friends.

My own karma - I strongly believe that we reap what we plant. When we harm others, sooner or later it returns to us. I have seen this in others many times myself. Moreover, you can never live peacefully if you have harmed others. Someday your conscience will start to gnaw at you. Therefore, my actions in life are important to me. I always remind myself that I am on earth to do good and not the other way around.

My independence - For a woman of Hindu descent, of all the three things I have mentioned, this is the most important. Because I see very often in my immediate environment (also in the family) how women are oppressed. They are not allowed to make choices in their career, not allowed to choose their own partner etc. etc. In a very early age I had sworn that I would never live like that. Fortunately, I have parents who taught me to be independent as well.

My friends - My friends are my driving force. They motivate me, push me to go on and especially not to give up. It is therefore important that you choose the right friends. Friends who hold you back, by whom your energy level drops, you don't need them. No, I'm talking about the friends whose mere presence gives you that boost to climb a step higher in your life. It's my friends who listen to me when I'm stuck with something, it's my friends who give me an earful when I forget my own values. I wouldn't know what to do without my friends.

Oh boy Karma that is a biggie, I totally agree if you harm others it will come back on you, if not, you will live with regret for doing it in the first place.

yea..people often tend to forget about it. But every deed of us has is consequences I think.

Old saying "What comes around, goes around." Yes I do believe everything has a consequence.

Your own karma, how come I've never thought of that before? It's so true that we must put that as an importance just so we don't lose sight of it and be bad to people.
I
I've heard stories of how woman are being oppressed and made to do what they don't wish to do, sad to know that your culture supports such too. But I'm glad you're very much against it in your life.

Friends are very important especially the good ones that are for us.

You've answered really well here and I like your three items. You first one though, I tend to agree that one's conscience can gnaw away at a person and I wonder have you had a particular circumstance occur in that regard? Of course don't need to divulge anything of a personal nature, I just wonder what you're experiences have been.

Hi @galenkp...hmm..yes, I did stuff as a teenager that I think of as 'I could have been a better person', but those were little crazy stuff though. I've fortunately never done anything that eats me up inside.
But I do know people in my immediate circle who spent years bullying others and making their lives miserable. And believe me, now in their old age they can't live in peace because they have regrets.

Yeah, bullies. I'm glad they have regret though, and are miserable. They deserve it for their actions.

hahaha, yeah they sure do!

Ah I am a bit late this weekend, but hungover me is proud I got this in before noon my time haha.
I like this one though! 3 things that are most important to me are:

  1. Being authentic. This is also the most important one! I believe very much in being who you are, not changing who you really want to be or what you love doing the most for other people. And when you are happy with yourself, you will attract people who love you for you!
  2. Seeing the world and lovely people in it in the short time we have. I really try not to spend too much time on things that just eat time but don't give me anything (like TV, I got rid of it this year!) and instead have real adventures with real people, enjoying beautiful places on this planet etc
  3. Showing love. If you love people, let them know! Share the love!

Not late at all, and you have a good excuse.

Being your true self is really important, yeah. No point being a puppet on a string for the benefit of others. Be you and own it. Nice choice for first here.

Travel, seeing the world, is a cool one. I've travelled a lot and have to say that once I did and understood the benefits I was hooked. Where was your favourite place so far?

The love? Yeah plint, this goes without saying.

Take care of that hangover and have a good weekend.

Thanks, I think I'll have some grilled cheese in a bit, that always helps with the hangover!

I love travelling, even though this past year it has been very domestic because of the pandemic, I actually enjoyed getting to know my own country better! But my favorite trip was the year I spent in South America. What a magical place! I especially loved Bolivia, so different, crazy nature and really lovely people.
image.png

I think I read a post you did about this. Bolivia. Amazing!

I hope the hangover is going well, getting better.

Hangover almost cured I think! Sweated it out in the gym and had a long shower, good as new now!

Look at you! Ready to get into Saturday with a fresh new feeling! No drinking tonight?

Haha no drinking tonight! Or all of the week for that matter. I've been trying to drink less and also less often so whenever I do decide to drink I make that the only time in the week

😂 😂 You're so funny, you got rid of your TV last year? Was it that much of a bother? Well, it's more cool to see things for yourself... It's adventure

I love your list of important things, being real is the deal.

I just noticed I would turn the tv on to watch something and then wouldn't turn it off, but also wouldn't be watching something I wanted to watch anymore, so I was just wasting time...

  • Mobility - Number 1
  • Camera - why number one is important
  • Thinking - why camera is important

Between thinking and camera I would have a hard time picking which one is more important. Mobility however is no question the number one thing needed for both.
I'll try to illustrate with the below image.
mushroom in dead stump
To many it is just a picture of a mushroom. I had to walk to get the picture. With out mobility I would not have been able to even see the mushroom. My mobility is gradually decreasing, but I try not to let it get to much of a grip on me.

With out the camera I would not have been able to get the picture, but I needed to think about the picture, to get close to the mushroom and know that I would be able to get the picture and to get back up from taking the picture. After taking the picture what then? It could just end up sitting on a chip or on a disk, and be viewed by only me, what to do with the picture?

That is where Hive comes in, I could share it with others, or keep it for myself. I decided to share it today. I got a few other pictures from today that I will be working into a post. It was a Good Friday, sore/tired right leg and all a very pleasant day.

Lots and lots of various reasons for a lack of picture taking on my part this year, but I love fall for pictures, and today was that fall day.

I really like the way you're interconnected the three items you chose as important to you because I think, in truth, all are interconnected, all the important things. I know a few who are not as mobile as they once were and I know they'd accept the lack or loss of many other things just to have it back. The make it work though, do the best they can and still have fulfilled lives.

I was talking to my brother about ageing the other day and whilst neither of us are what I'd call old were both old enough, with enough challenges, to have a glimpse of it. Losing my mobility won't go so well for me I think.

Anyway, that's for commenting and for the image as well. Always good to have you around.

I was pleasantly surprised when reading a few of the comments that Camera came up in another individuals comment. That was nice to see. I am not real old, but my body has broken down quite a bit, some of it from once unknown birth defects recently discovered, (hip bone issues). So I just try to make do, and not worry about it to much or let it rule my life. We all lose something as we age, it is how we cope with the loss that is the important thing.

It's been really interesting to see the choices people have made. I expected a lot of material items although that hasn't happened and people have chosen much deeper and more meaningful things. It's pretty cool.

Oh my! I love your response to the question and the important things you mentioned really go together.

That mushroom picture is amazing, thanks to your mobility and camera... I was able to see something nice

HHD-Hive, health, dog.

In hive I have freedom and opportunity. I can earn money working for myself. Here I can do what I want and love and when I want to do it. I can make art or play games-I have that freedom.

Like I said Hive is full of opportunities. But all of them would vanish if I was blind or paralyzed...So health is also important.

And the dog? just look at her. How could she not be important?

Lota 1.jpg

I like how hive has had such a great affect on you and that you enjoy it. It should be that way, enjoyable and a place of opportunity. It's a good answer, and hey, with a face like that doggo...Who could resit right?

Hive has done so much good for us all, sometimes I start to wonder how my life was without Hive 😂 it must have been so dependent and boring but thank goodness I found Hive.

Health is the most important if we want to live freely and enjoy life.

That dog sure looks important to hold, so cute 🥺

It really is hard to remember life before hive.

That dog sure looks important to hold, so cute

She is awesome friend.

😂 I can't seem to remember but I'm very sure of how it would have been.
What's your dog's name?

Lota

Wow is that a Latin name? From my pronunciation, it's a cute name like her

I don't think so. I am lithuanian😜

For me, there are 3 things that are top of mind when I read your question.

  1. My dream: To be honest, I have been on the way to follow my dream and to make my dream come true. My dream which I have been waiting for and making best efforts for nearly 5 years is actually the source of energy for me to overcome thousands troubles. It has raised me up plenty of times, it keeps me alive to wait for a day when I can say "I COULD DO IT."
  2. Children: To me, children are angels! They are the best medicine when some bad days skew my mind. Be with them, I must say I feel really happy and joyful while I am listening to them talking about the world, seeing their innocent smiles, looking at their beautiful eyes... I see the colorful world with them. And even they also teach me what the adults as me forgot and ignored because of the busy life stream. They are wonderful to me!
  3. Silence: I can't live without silent moments because I need to be healed myself by quiet short period. Silence does not mean alone because it is the time that I sit by my side to hear my inner soul, inner voice since I believe in silence we will find the answers..
This is a photo when I was walking with my nephew, my treasure. It was really happy time. 😊
    img_6042.heic
Thanks @Galenkp for your meaningful topic!

Silence is a great one! I'm always looking for it myself but of course the sort of silence is important. I guess I like nature and natural sounds, meaning non-human-created sounds as found in cities. I go hiking a lot and that's where I find peace of mind.

Thanks for getting involved.

You're welcome. I love hiking too. And natural sounds actually can heal us by some ways.

Oooohh...I'm so many comments behind...damn you real life.
Hmmm 3 important things to me, okay

  1. Money; not necessarily cold hard cash, but anything that legally give me money. I know this sounds materialistic but I'm a material girl, in a material world 😌. I like the sense of security and stability it brings , I like the fact the it gives me the ability to make choices.
    images(17).jpg
  2. Healthy relationship with people: I value my relationships, so I always put in extra effort into them because of how important they are to me. I like knowing what impact and positive things I bring in whatever relationship and what positive thing I'm gaining also, all for our mutual growth.
    images(18).jpg
So a healthy relationship is quite important to me.
  3. Food🙈: this last one is a bit funny, but it's true. I really really love food, I'm a proud member of the foodie gang. I'm not just talking about eating to survive, it's more than that. Everyone that knows me, knows I don't joke with food, I love try ing out new cuisine, restaurants and stuff. It's more like a hobby.

images(19).jpg

images(20).jpg
The most important item to me on that list would be healthy relationships with people.

😂 😂 😂 Oh my goodness!!! You're so real with your comments.

Money? That's very important, how did I miss that. Well, good you brought it up.

A foodie indeed and like @moon-city i would love to know your favorite meal.

I don't know, I think money is a byproduct of what you do so...it's implied? Also, one can get anything money can buy given infinite amounts of time. So...if we reverse engineer it, it turns out money is time. But infinite amounts of money cannot buy you infinite amounts of time, so I guess it's also...not.

I laughed a lot at the intelligent response that I saw in a snippet from a conference with two good partners, two of the wealthiest and most intelligent people known to the public. I think this one was Charlie Munger (so guess who the other one was — one should learn about him at some point if one's hobby is money or if money is one's hobby).

They were talking about the danger of inflation and ways to handle it. The question was:

Do you feel optimistic about the future?

And the answer:

Do I feel optimistic? I'm almost dead! The rest of you can surely handle some hyperinflation.

I love your honesty here and I do agree that money gives greater purchasing power. You go girl!

Healthy relationships are quite valuable! Mutual growth...yes this is THE key word ❤

We have a serious foodie here 😏 I see hmm hmm. I am curious to hear, what is your favorite cuisine or food? (Let's make it a litrke harder for you, pick only one) 🤣

My favorite food is FISHERMAN Native soup and Eba. It's a local delicacy from my country - Nigeria
21479954_129657527673408_1875545358407303168_n.jpg

Wow this looks absolutely delicious! Thank you so much for sharing this. I am very interested in finding a Nigerian based restaurant over here. Hahah I love seafood a lot. 🐟

This looks absolutely flavourful.

It is ....where do you stay? I'm sure a nigerian restaurant wouldn't be to hard to find

I am in Toronto, Canada. I searched it up and found several locations! I am in luck

That's surely going to be hard for her.... How can I pick one out of my numerous favorite meal?

She has made me very curious about finding the nearest Nigerian restaurant I can find here!

You're not behind, you were perfectly on time.

Money, the ability to furnish our lives with the items we need, is incredibly important. I'm not one to value flashy things too much but if one didn't have the funds to take care of one's health it wold be of detriment, just as an example. So yep, money is important. A healthy relationships is also valuable I think. Many valuable relationships indeed, meaning our relationships with all and sundry. I guess what I'm getting at is the way we treat and interact with everyone. A lover will get certain aspects, the person at the shop behind the counter others. All should be approached with respect and we should seek to be our best version as often as possible to nurture our relationships.

Food? Goes without saying. 😂

Haha love the honesty that you are a bit materialistic! I have to agree with you on food, good and nice food is very important!

Three things important to me aside from mum are money, Job and my girlfriend. Well, my job for instance has offered an avenue to mix with new people and in process opened my eye to an endless possibility of knowledge. of course I earn from job but also earn from countless other places too.

Money is important to me also as it serves as a medium to pay for things that I need and of course will give me comfort.

My girlfriend is important to me also because she provides a safe environment for me to be who I want to be while also never ever needing to pretend to be who I am not. she makes me act the way I want to be.

Of course the most important is Money because without money, life might be unbearable to live and being comfortable might be unattainable. so that's my truth to the question asked

You've choses three very important things that all seem to fit together well. One's overall wellbeing is vital to a happy and successful life and with these three items combined you're well on the way!

Thanks for getting involved.

It was indeed my pleasure to be part of this

This is an interesting topic so far and even more than the previous ones I have seen. In life we have many things which are important to us and some which are not.

To me,

  • My wife: My wife is very much important to me because through her I saw love. She is the only one who can understand me to the brim. Whenever I'm not having, she raised me. She is what I only have.

  • My children: My children on thee other hand are my future. All my daily earnings and savings are just because of them. So, they are just too precious to me and I knew vividly that they will be the ones to raise me when I grow older.

  • My job: I do not joke with my job. I'm a teacher and a teacher to the core. So, I have passion for my job and so, I teach my students just like my children. I have taken them to be my family. This is me and my life. I'm just open to them.

The above are the three things which I does not joke with.

@galenkp , once again thank you for bringing this topic on board. I'm late...

I believe you've selected three incredibly important items that all kind of go together and one might not be quite as fulfilling without the others. An excellent answer indeed.

I know you're a teacher...Can I ask what level of children do you teach and what subjects?

I do teach students mathematics and physics at the senior secondary school level.

Ah ok, a big responsibility.

I'll come to this engagement topic but you first tell me what exactly do you do to bring out such interesting engagement topics. man you're CREATIVE!

To me, my intellect and sense of understanding is the most important thing after my loved ones ( They are excluded though). I feel good when I am realized by others or by myself that I have this ability to understand the unsaid things. I've basically studied about human psychology to understand people and to overcome my social anxiety. I hold this thing close to my heart because it has helped me help others and help myself, maybe in being a better individual for people around me. I've studied art so it also helps me understand and connect with nature. I'll explain it if anyone asked😁

2nd is the time I choose to spend with myself. I call it my quality time ♥️. I often require time with myself to regain that energy to face the world and it is damn so important.

3rd, my gadgets. I need them so they're important. My cellphone, laptop and my mi fitness trekker.

You're the second who has said intellect and I agree it's a good one indeed. This leads nicely into the second being time for yourself. That's important in a world where everything moves so fast, there's so many influences and societal noise. Finding that quite place, the central point I call it, to regain one's energy is vital.

Not everyone understands They this central point idea or perhaps we've never understood the word everyone because people go through different traumas all their lives.

Yes, people are all different and need to find what works for them.

I could tell that your intellect is your most important from how you explained it.

Spending time with oneself can be so strengthening and I understand why it's an important thing to you.

Fitness trekker, what's that?

Thank you! ❤️

My mi band 6, it's a watch type of thing trekking everything I do including the steps I walk, my heart rate and much more.

Wow such device exist? I've only seen it in a movie... Is there a way I could see yours or not? 🤣

I'm being noisy right now or maybe curious

untitled.gif

This is how it looks like 😁 and yes I am a morning person 😂
img_0.5285951306592499.jpg

Wow this is so cool, and your skin is so hairy 😂 did I just become more nosy again?

Thanks for showing me, it sure has all the details but wait, why did you wake up by 5:01am isn't that too early? 🙄

Hairy skin is in my hereditary traits 😁 you're not nosy at all 😄

And yes I have this habit of waking up early, can't help it, can't change it 🥺

I mulled over this topic of yours since I saw the post yesterday (when it had a fraction of today's comments 🤣) and finally decided okay, I'll comment.

It is extremely hard to narrow it just down to three important 'things' but to sum it up, in no particular order I'd go health - happiness - freedom.

Freedom - monetarily, physically, and psychologically be able to make choices. Thinking about partners, friends, even family, voting, travels, jobs, creativity, but also computer, camera painting supplies - really too many things to name them all

Health - enabling us to make the most of our freedom

Happiness - enjoying this one life on Earth we are given through health, freedom, and everything around them

Health, happiness and freedom are amazingly important as is each person's idea of these things. You clarify freedom really nicely and tie it in with your other two choices well.

Can I ask, what is something you have or do, that is one of the least important in the grand scheme of life?

You know that you can ask me just about anything, however, very honestly I find this question even trickier than the original one.

Looking at me and the life I'm living I cannot pinpoint one 'thing' that is least important to me. I have lived long enough that almost all things I have serve a good purpose. If need be I can live without a lot of them e.g. physical books - I love them, but these days 99 % of the time I read on my iPad and there are other physical things.

When it comes to what I do - unfortunately, I don't think it is possible for me to not have my job and certainly my art is very important to me and sports are important for my health. I could do without traveling, I guess - as 2020 has shown us - and live through the internet.

Looking back at my life I would say that one of the least important things I've done is buy expensive cars 😜. Though they were a lot of fun at the time, but that money was wasted.

Hey, great answer, and I enjoyed the journey to it, the ticking off of items.

I agree with your response though. I've had many very expensive cars and a total of 45 cars in my 51 years of life...Seems such a waste now. I know work out what I need and buy that - Need over want.

Good answer here. Thanks. (I wanted to push you a bit harder.). 😇

45 (!) cars?! How? Why? What the... that's crazy🥴

Yeah. I know. I had two at once sometimes. But...Somehow that doesn't really justify it I guess.

No justification needed. I'm sure at the time it was what you needed/wanted/enjoyed and then you moved on.

😂 I can see you were trying to sum it all up but it turned out to be a long list again.

Those three things you mentioned are indeed very important to anyone of us and thanks for mentioning them.

I hope you're having fun with the weekend engagement 😊 cause I'm so swelling up with fun right now.

untitled.gif

True. I have lived long enough to have found the really important things for me personally. IMO it really isn't possible to narrow them down to just three. But - I tried. And failed 😭.

😂 No section for tears here dear
You don't have to narrow it all down to three, just mention three and state the one most important among the three.

We all have more than three things that are important to us, so go go go 😊

See even that isn't possible. Importance changes by the day/week/month year. What's important to me today, may be totally irrelevant tomorrow.

If you want to know three things that are important to me right now?

  • Time to create my art
  • Having the means i.e. supplies to create art
  • Internet/computer to connect with other people around the world

Important, what is important to me... Mental health, what use is a body of the mind is sick. So many rush around proving they can walk or run a hundred miles, too many suffer later with body aches, most surprisingly I find they lose their mind first!

Perhaps chasing all these goals of distance, time or weight they lose their minds, I don't know but one thing for sure my mind is of most importance, keep using your brain it is the only one you have, on loan of course.... that three score and ten thingy!

IMG_2801.JPG

untitled.gif

Mental health is a great thing to hold as important. Without it most would be a little limited I guess.

Just a shocker how many men "let go" the minute they stop corporate work life, like no hobbies, nothing to keep em busy. Now it is super important to keep your marbles....

untitled.gif

Yeah, it's very important to have something to keep the brain (and body) active.

Oh yes! When young we keep ourselves entertained for hours, we need the same mindset when we have time in latter years.

Loading...

Thanks a lot to @galenkp for this week topic. I have been caught in the web of one or two things in the past weeks but now, we move. For this week topic, a lot of things are important to me but I will choose according to order of priority.

Family
As a family man, the first thing that comes to mind each time I want to carry out any activity is my family. I hold that virtue in high esteem. The foundation of any individual is the family they hail from. For this reason, I out my family next to my mind.

Career
Over the years, my passion for the teaching career have been unfailing. I started teaching immediately after graduation and haven't looked back afterwards. That's for over sixteen years. With this, my experience has been from one level of professionalism to the other. The height I have attained in the profession an still be built upon. Thus, I am ready to go the mile only to ensure nothing sets me back.

Heaven
To be heaven conscious is one thing that I have registered in my heart since I came to know Christ. In all my doings, I ensure I never engage in anything that will deprive me the opportunity of entering the home of the saints. I pray that after my race here, I would be considered a place in the holy palace of God Almighty.

I like that you have listed family first as that's a very important part of life. Also you drive and ambition with your career is great to hear and I think you have the right attitude to chase down your aspirations.

Thanks for getting involved this week.

Glad to have you join in this week engagement fun again, I started today and it has been fun.

Those things you've listed are very important, Heaven being the goal... We try our best not to lose sight of that.

Thanks @merit.ahama, it's nice finding you here too. Heaven is the goal, every other things comes after that.

Exactly, you're doing well... Keep it up 😊

You ain't doing badly too. Let's meet at the top.

Exactly, all the best with your climbing to the top

That's quite a clear presentation of things having importance in your life. Career was missed by the majority.

I won't like to give my career out on a platter of gold, that's one of the assets I have for now, so I will rather keep it with utmost jealousy.

Greetings @galenkp

Delighted to participate again in Weekend-engagement week 67: The important week

Thanks for your comment. I'll have to imagine what it says as I don't read Spanish. Thanks for participating though.

Quick translation to assist you now going into your night 🙃time....

My health. Being healthy allows me to fully enjoy the day to day, giving 100% in everything that I propose to do.

My economy. Because it gives me peace of mind to be solvent and to be able to meet my needs.

Love. Because it is the most sincere feeling that a human being can have

untitled.gif

All great answers @panmonagas one needs each to enable living life and enjoying it.

Thank you for the translation support. @joanstewart
I ran it through the translator and by mistake I sent it in Spanish... thank you very much.

And yes I think those three points are vital.

@nineclaws @bertrayo hehehehe it's teleportation time to land here once again 😆.

hahah welcome all! Ask @krazzytrukker for hotdogs and beer while you're here!

Krazzytrukker and his bloody hotdogs. 😁

I was thinking Brats this weekend. Gotta live a little ya know?

Should be OK for breakfast here at 5am. As long as it is garnished with bacon.

Sounds fine to me. Bring me some! 🤣

Haha, yeah three or for our them for breakfast and straight into the cab of the prime and on you go.

My Driver Lenny is on his way with the Beer and Brats...
untitled.gif

Now I am hungry dammit.!!

Is it OK to have Beer & Brats for breakfast?

th.jpeg

These hot hods are interesting enough, but I still like this junk food style of stockpiling things. Don't even know if it's a Venezuelan thing, but it's really good. 🤣

Hot Dogs are def Junk Food!!

And some of the Shizz we garnish them with is healthy, or downright poison... LoL

untitled.gif

Well, yes. But since the picture doesn't load. Let me make a written picture: bun, wiener, shredded cabbage and carrots, diced onions, fries, shredded cheese, and a tons of sauces to your heart's desire.

I once had a version of this they called Christmas dog. We eat pork a lot during this time. So it was the HD with all of the above and a topping of pulled pork. It was amazing. I still miss that day!

This is @gvkanten 's fave...

untitled.gif

There should be drinks everywhere too.

😂 😂 Is it your hobby to make people salivate on this comment section?

I see food everywhere

untitled.gif

hhahahaha I am seriously starving here. Good thing my meeting ends in a minute. I will be running to the fridge asap!

Blame @krazzytrukker it's his fixation!

untitled.gif

I wonder if this Crack Chicken...

threema-20210918-185639813 (1).jpg

That @pooky-jax made for Saturdays pig out would go good on a Hot Dog just like pork and sourkraut does..?

untitled.gif

😂 😂 😂 😂
This is really bad, not the sumptuous meals again ☹️☹️

untitled.gif

That is how our cats behave when it is past feeding time.

untitled.gif

Funny enough, if really you teleport here, but where is your teleporting device?

I have a secret portal in my room!

Smile.... One day I am coming to check on it 🥰

"but where is your teleporting device?"

Parked in the yard...

It is a little slow motion as far as Time Travel parameters go.

But it gets me there...

That second gif is me at every fucking real estate seminar I went to.

😂 😂
Are the seminars that boring?

Mostly yes. I tend to wake up at break time, get some coffee, biscuits or lunch and then it's nap time again. It might be a by-product of the late nights out, or maybe just boredom. Probably boredom. 😜

😂 I could relate with probably the nights out but hold on, if the seminars make you sleep then they're boring... No two ways about it 🤣

untitled.gif

Lol. That's me!

😂 I can see that

It's like your relationship with the infinite is critical to your actual being, like without that there is nothing else. I get it.

Health and creativity is so important. Health for obvious reasons and creativity also. I think that's ingrained in humans actually; if we were not creative by nature we would not have had the ability to grow and develop. That's what separates Homo Sapiens from Neanderthal's; cognitive thought. I think the latter also had some ability for creativity [think tools] though but it's that cognitive thought that accelerated things.

Just my thoughts on the matter. I'm creative, so could be making it all up. Lol.

I like this one. There has been lots of research at what makes homo sapiens different and they have narrowed it down to two important factors: brains that can think of concepts that do not yet exist (so creativity is a big thing there) and the capability to share those things with others, we are incredibly social beings that can thrive in large groups thanks to our communication

 3 years ago (edited)

Yep, thanks cognitive thought. They also started farming crops which eventually led to villages and towns and now cities. That's also when human beings began to be slaves to work. You know, waking up early to tend crops and unable to move around with the seasons due to their crops, houses and livestock etc.

I'd rather be a Neanderthal/hunter-gatherer.

Haha yeah you shoot a mammoth and then you can chill for weeks, you've got an abundance of food anyway! We totally fell for the farming/work trap and now we are stuck. Oh if only the mammoths were still here....

We (humanity) got sucked in by our own greed and hubris. And here we are, still doing it.

Here I thought you were a Neanderthal,

I am.

Rubiks cube

I completed one of these once. Had to take it apart and reconstruct to do it though.

I used mine to throw at my older brother and conk him on his big useless head. I think my love of long range Rubik's cube throwing was a precursor to long range shooting.

Without your relationship with the infinite, you will be like

untitled.gif

😂😂😂 Well, thank goodness you knwo how to relate with it.

Health is important to everyone of us and being creativity and valuing it is important also

Oh that's nice to hear about, keep it up and keep being connected to the infinite world and be healthy for us here on Hive.
