It's funny when you talk about Australian politics on Hive. No one can get past the fact that we have to vote - it's compulsory, and has been since the 1920's. One of the arguments against it is that it's a slippery slope toward totalatarianism - and that's what the other criticism is from the global Hive, that we got a little bit too draconian during the COVID pandemic, and none so more than the police state of Victoria, where I live. I've thought about both sides of the argument and to be honest, I don't really care. Both sides make sense. And if we really don't want to vote, just do what we call a 'donkey vote', making the whole thing redundant. This is the system we've got - and there's bigger fish to fry, or sausages to hand out at the voting booths. The new world order ain't coming soon.
