If You Know How It Feels
By evening, I called Mr. Akin again, praying he would at least pick.
“Good evening, sir,” I said when he answered. I could hear chatter in the background, music playing faintly. At the sound of his voice, I knew he was relaxed, like he was at a lounge.
“Ah, yes,” he said casually. “Sorry, I’ve been swamped with work. We’ll fix another date soon.”
Something inside me snapped.

The Morning Commute
“Hello… Yes, I told you I would send it once my office pays… I know…" she paused and continued. "Oga bear with me, " he said if I don’t come to his office again, he won’t approve of it. I just need him to approve it and I'll send the money. I can't have money and not pay my ama’s hospital bills. Please, just give me time.”

Walk in their shoes
The third day was much worse. I had to go grocery shopping with my son because I didn't know how to handle his stroller. The house, and especially the kitchen floor, had been covered in a layer of dirt, and I had to clean it all up. I tried my best to get things done, but I was always interrupted by my son's cries, who only calmed down when I held him. I didn't sit down even once that day, but the following days were worse.

The Anniversary Night
Once again, happy anniversary and goodbye for life. Oh, you can have every meal there — I was kind enough to pay for everything. When you're done, you can put on your silver heels, pick up your silver purse and go home.
By the way, you look stunning tonight.

A big mistake?
Anderson looked at a screen showing the inside of the particle accelerator. He stared at it for a moment, and suddenly a word came to mind. “Eyes?” Dr. Anderson looked at his assistant and said, “We won't do the test. Williams, you must break the news to the world.”
“Meee?” The assistant looked at the doctor in astonishment.

“I waited for you every morning, I sat by the window everyday, watching the road, hoping I would see you coming.” She looked at him now, and he winced at the pain in her eyes. “You said nothing in the world would keep you away from my side.”
He nodded slowly. “I know.”
