The big Gods Unchained Hive contest: Final Standings!

Happy new year everyone!
It's time to conclude this big contest we ran that directly and indirectly onboarded a ton of Gods Unchained players to Hive and it's been amazing to see part of them integrate into the ecosystem, learn what they can do and accomplish here and become active in the Gods On Chain community!

In this post we'll provide the final stats of the contest, to be transparent, we want to let you know that we've had a minimum 6 turn requirement for your matches to count. This was something we didn't initially publicize to avoid purpose cheating to receive points.

The HBD for the contest were recently traded for Hive, a total of 971.451 (1.451 Hive sent to @hive.fund (Hive's DAO) for an even number), these will be distributed evenly amongst all points earned. Meaning that those at the top will receive the most Hive but everyone with some points will receive some Hive. Hive is divisible by 0.001 and has no transactions fees, that's why giveaways like these are possible on this blockchain.

The Cards Giveaway will be drawn a little later, the drawing will be recorded and we will count up all points earned so each point has its own "ticket" number. Let's say I have earned 100 points and I was at the top of the leaderboard, I will be having ticket #001 to #100, second on the list with 90 points will have #101-#190. The drawing will then pick a random number from 1-> total points and whoever has that ticket number will receive the card that's being drawn at the time. The drawing will be a full recording session to mitigate any kind of cheating.

One thing I'd like your opinion on and why I didn't draw the cards giveaway yet is if you think people should be able to win more than 1 card or if their ticket numbers should be removed after they've won once. Will be using this post to set up a vote where you can reply to which option you think is better. For now, let's get to the final point standings!

      I have an Immutable (Gods Unchained) account since 2019.10.21, but I still have not tried this game. Nowadays I do not have a laptop/PC. I am waiting for the mobile (Android) version of this game. I know that the developers are working on it.

      Yeah I think they're also not in a rush with mobile as they know and expect a lot of traffic coming in then so they want to make sure their servers and platform can handle it when the time comes.

        Great work! I'm happy to see the interaction and growth of community. When I first started playing Gods Unchained like half year ago, I was WAITING FOR THE DAY THAT THE GAME GREW!! Surely this work helps people getting involved, and I will be there with you guys helping with what I can!

        @acidyo Thank you for being the host of that amazing event! You created a place with a lot of quality content for Gods Unchained. It's not only good for beginners. I think that veterans also have benefits here. I'm happy being a part of this event. :)

        My Vote: unlimited cards for one account.
        Why: the top players shouldn't be punished that they got more draw tickets than others. They deserve that they can be more rewarded than others with way less points. (plus you will have less work for the drawing :D)

        I hope that a big part of the users will stay here and GU will still rise.

        I managed to get more points then I initially thought! Again, thanks for this incredible work: I'm hoping for a bright future for this game! Let's see where we'll be at the end of next year :)

        I voted for max 1 card per account, as it would allow more players to get a reward! The draw should start from the strongest cards, so players with more points still get rewarded as they could get the better cards first.

        You still get rewarded for having played more, as your chance at winning one is much higher as one that has barely any points.

        I think if you're going to draw 1 card per player, you'll need to draw the cards from best to worst. @darewin should have the best chance to get the best card, due to having the most points.

        I agree with this, my only suggestion is that you may want to do draws starting with the most valuable cards to ensure someone who put the time in doesn't win the least valuable card, first, and lock themselves out of a more valuable reward.

                                                        Wow! Thanks for putting this all together @acidyo. I'm glad so many people participated too, I want this game to overtake Hearthstone so bad.

                                                        As for how the rewards are split up, it's tough. You want to reward people for putting the time in and grinding out games, but also want to give other people a chance.

                                                        Maybe a hybrid system where you're only allowed to win 2-3 cards? That way people who've been grinding hard have the opportunity to make out with a couple cards, but they're not just gonna take the whole pot, and still lets the rewards spread around to everyone.

                                                            I'd say, go for Pareto's distribution. Those who won one card can win another one. Equality is not healthy for economy after all.

                                                                Great contest and a very big thank you @acidyo and all who cotributed for this initiative! I think that 1 card per account is fair, but the users with the most points should have more chances to win the rarest (and most expensive) cards.

                                                                    thanks @acidyo and team of mod / helppers. That was an awesome event, it make me discover hive. I hope that we will have regular event like this one.

                                                                    Vote for: 1 card win per account. from more expensive to cheap.
                                                                    this way, someone who played a lot have more chance to win expensive card.

                                                                    Final comment, this event made me play more than usual and pushed me to browse and comment in hive (still discovery phase for me). So I guess the event fullfilled the objective for hive and GU, and I hope it will allow big support for you to do more event like this one.
