Mi colección de animalitos Parmalat / My Parmalat little animal collection

Saludos! Durante los años 90 hubo muchas marcas de productos alimenticios que empezaron a ofrecer juguetes como obsequio dentro de sus empaques, cajas, bolsas o latas. Una de esas marcas fue Parmalat.

Hello! During the 1990s there were many food product brands that started offering toys as gifts inside their packaging, boxes, bags or cans. One of those brands was Parmalat.

Parmalat es una marca de productos lácteos y alimenticios fundada en Italia en 1961, desde el año 2011 la totalidad de sus acciones pertenece a la empresa Lactalis. En la década de los 90 casi todas las marcas de leche en polvo, al menos en mi país Venezuela, venían en presentación de lata de 1 kilo. En 1996, Parmalat, con la finalidad de promover la importancia del consumo de leche en la alimentación de los más pequeños y para incentivar la adquisición de sus productos y así incrementar sus ventas, empezó a ofrecer juguetes dentro de las latas. Esos juguetes eran los famosos bebés disfrazados de animalitos mamíferos.

Parmalat is a brand of dairy and food products founded in Italy in 1961, since 2011 all of its shares belong to the company Lactalis. In the 1990s, almost all brands of powdered milk, at least in my country Venezuela, came in a 1-kilo can. In 1996, Parmalat, with the aim of promoting the importance of milk consumption in the diet of babies and children, and as an incentive for the purchase of its products and thus increase its sales, started to offer toys inside the cans. Those toys were the famous babies dressed as little mammals.

La idea fue todo un suceso y resultó muy exitosa, sobretodo porque no se limitó solo a incluir el juguete dentro de la lata sino que la misma vino acompañada de una gran campaña publicitaria, muy original y que cautivó no sólo al cliente primario, o sea, el adulto que tiene el dinero y compra el producto sino también a los consumidores principales y los que mayoritariamente tomaban esa leche, los niños.

The idea was very successful, especially because it wasn't limited to just including the toy inside the can, but it was accompanied by a great advertising campaign, very original and that captivated not only the primary customer, that is, the adult who has the money and buys the product, but also the main consumers and those who mostly drank that milk, the children.

Recuerdo que había un comercial de TV donde salían muchos niños disfrazados de diferentes animales, oso, perrito, elefante, tigre, cerdito, rinoceronte, zorrillo, gorila y muchos más. También salía publicidad en los periódicos y revistas. Yo esperaba ansiosa que se terminara la leche para que mi mamá comprara otra lata y así ver que animalito traía jejeje, así empecé a coleccionarlos, si bien había algunos que se repetían mucho, (lo que me decepcionaba cuando abría la lata), había otros que no era fácil conseguirlos.

I remember there was a TV commercial where there were many children dressed as different animals, bear, puppy, elephant, tiger, pig, rhinoceros, skunk, gorilla and many more. There was also advertising in newspapers and magazines. I was anxiously waiting for the milk to end so that my mother would buy another can and so see what little animal was inside hehehe, so I began to collect them, although there were some that were repeated a lot, (which disappointed me when I opened the can), there were others it wasn't easy to get them.

No sé cuántos son en total pero por las publicaciones que he visto en las páginas de comercio electrónico donde los ofrecen en venta, asumo que son entre 22 o 25, me faltan el oso polar, zebra, oveja, búfalo, oso pardo, panda, perro marrón, zorro, y el lobo. Tengo 15 diferentes, de esos 15, varios los tengo repetidos dos o tres veces. Tal vez un día de estos compre los que me faltan para así tener la colección completa jejeje. Se que muchas personas los coleccionan así que quiero compartir con ustedes una parte de nuestra infancia.

I don't know how many there are in total but from the publications I've seen on the e-commerce pages where they are offered for sale, I assume there are between 22 or 25, the ones that I don't have are the polar bear, zebra, sheep, buffalo, brown bear, panda, brown dog, fox, and wolf. I have 15 different ones, of those 15, I have several repeated two or three times. Maybe one of these days I'll buy the ones I'm missing so I can have the complete collection hehehe. I know that many people collect them so I want to share with you a part of our childhood.
