Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my Art Journal update for March. I can't believe it has been a month since my last update, but I have been busy sketching regularly. It has been fun and also I hope to get some improvement over time.

The last month I have not been sketching every day as I had initially planned, but instead, I have still been sketching regularly every few days and each time sketching for longer as I get in a rhythm.

I try to use the techniques that the book has taught me which is coming in helpful.

Still lots of work ahead, especially with drawing faces, hair and generally people! lol

I imagined this was my wife if she had got hold of my credit card.

Here was my first side on portrait. It is taking some time to figure out the correct dimensions and understand perspectives, but it is fun learning.

I am still going through my other book drawing basic objects. This can get a little boring, so it is good to mix it up a little.

Still the exercises are good and help to improve sketching.

Of course I found another book that I like. We bought this one as a gift for someone and I think it could be something good for me too. I would quite like to try some manga style drawing.

My plan for the next month is to continue regularly drawing and try out the new book too. In the evenings, the light is not so good in the day, so I am thinking I need to use my desklamp to see better.

I am also looking for a tablet/pen combo, so that I can start to digitalise some of my work and start using it.
