Blew past my goal for the year

pageBreak.png

Earlier in the year, I had mentioned that my goal was to get 50k stake here before the end of the year. Well, I have almost doubled that goal with my recent power up of a bit over 26k Hive.

I sold some ETH for Hive this morning because the sub 15 cent price of Hive was too good to pass up. Some people think that it may go lower, but if it does, I may just pick up some more. I am not too worried about the low price right now because we have a lot of things in store for the blockchain.

With HF 24 coming later today, Hive will be getting its own blockchain ID and will no longer have that association with the Steem blockchain. In my opinion, that is a crucial first step for things to come.

One of the main reasons why I chose to power up and increase my holdings was to be able to curate with more weight. I curate for several projects and I like that I am able to reward great content here on the blockchain. The curation rewards are a nice bonus as well.

I held quite a bit of Tezos and you get staking rewards from that as well, but nothing can compare to the rewards you get from curation here on Hive. Curation rewards are one massive benefit to powering up your stake here. There are too many projects out there that don't really reward you for holding their tokens and you only get a return if the price goes up. Hive is one of the few projects out in crypto that offers so much utility and reward for having stake.

Well, I am gonna go ride my OneWheel for a bit and then I have some more curation to do. We only have two days left for the Hive Gaming Community Contest so make sure you get your entries in if you haven't already. There are a lot of awesome entries already, so it is gonna be tough to pick some winners.

Damn, that's one mega power-up, are you only doing curating or are you doing other things with HIVE like trading or market making on places like Uniswap and Dswap?

Mainly just curating. I dont really trade Hive and I am not a fan of the ETH fees associated with Uniswap.

That's epic, but I am sure with a stake like that you can back a lot of projects and communities. Any plans or do you just support certain projects?

Congratulations mate! Amazing numbers...

I agree with everything written. I think now is a great time to power up as the only way I see is up.
And yes, curation is reward where you can not lose.

Keep up you amazing work and see you around :)

Thanks homie.

Hey @derangedvisions, here is a little bit of BEER from @pixresteemer for you. Enjoy it!

Congrats on powering up that chunk and little more to go I suppose. While isn't the HF hardfork date changed to Oct 6th!

Ya, I think it was, lol. I was wondering why the chain was still up and running.

Good choice IMO, Gas fees, as you say are stupid at this point. So kudos to you my man. I only wish I was in the same position, if I was I would have followed suit!

Ya, the gas fees on ETH have really turned me off of that chain. I used to be big into ETH, but I don't understand why people think they should have to pay all those fees to transact on there. We need more people to see the light and come to Hive and develop here.

Yeah for sure. I'm still trying to grasp why Hive can succeed where others have failed. When we look at the likes of say eos, the chain and transaction times / stake requirement on cpu etc mean that the cost of communication is somewhat restricting. But what happens to hive if and when we get to doing millions of transactions?

Oh, you'll be able to answer this, whats the rough average of transactions per block produced? I remember on wls it was so low, most blocks produced went without a single transaction. I'd be interested to see how many transactions are happening here on a block average.

Nice power up mate. Keep on pushing.

Hive will be getting its own blockchain ID and will no longer have that association with the Steem blockchain.

As long as we don't nullify those 83 mill Hive tokens there will always be an association with Steem. We should have done that from day one...when all the lights were upon us...when price was 7x what it is now... when Hive was getting one listing after the other...

We should have...

Hopefully by mid October or so I will be at a nice round 100k.

Great to see so many people powering up and especially those who curate. It's a win for everyone as lessens supply and puts the power back in the hands of the community. Bravo.

Exactly. We need more Orcas and Dolphins here and less reliance on whale votes.

Wow, congratulations. The price at the moment is good for a buyin i bougth some hive a while ago but i am considering bying more. Waiting for my paycheck. :-)

Awesome. I hope that you are able to get more at a decent price.
