✨RE-Introducing Myself✨

in OCD11 months ago

Well, hello, Hive-iverse.

This is my first actual post just for the Hive blockchain, though a few of you might recognize me… and if you check out my blog, you will see that I was once a fairly active blogger, back in Steemit’s glory days, before this whole hard fork business came to light.

So where have I been?

Well, if we look back, we’ll see that I had eluded to some personal growth, some changes happening in my little corner of the universe, though I was not as active online, I was still trying to pop in on occasion…

and then the world imploded.

Ok, so not quite, but you know, in the uncertainty of the first few weeks and months of the global pandemic the future was unclear, priorities shifted, and many of us just did what we could to stay safe and stay sane. I have 2 children, who were suddenly thrust into make-shift home schooling, and my entire focus pivoted.

Since then a lot has happened. A LOT of change has come into my life (and I’m sure many of yours as well)... I’ve lost family members, which shook me to my core, moved to a different province, had emergency surgery, survived “the sickness” twice, and basically been trying to dig my way out of the piles of shit the universe decided to throw my way, and get my feet back under me after all these experiences.

Now, here we sit (or stand, if you are fortunate enough to have one of those fancy schmancy adjustable height desks, or I suppose you could be one of THOSE PEOPLE who walk about, nose in your phone, surfing social media, blissfully unaware that you might have just stepped into oncoming traffic… but I digress…) 3 years on, and finally feeling some sense of normalcy. The world has moved past the global pandemic lockdowns, and after much soul searching and metaphorical shit-digging, I have decided to give this whole blogging thing another go. I’m still trying to figure out my direction, my path in life, but when I look back on my time contributing my blog to the community, I felt more fulfilled. The community gave me a sense of belonging to the world, outside of my own little bubble, as well as providing me with endless inspiration. Inspiration to do more, try new things, get back to my creative side, which in turn lead to even more blogging contributions. I know things are a little different in these parts, and I’m a little out of the loop, but I’m hopeful to soon fall back into the swing of things, and get reacquainted with this awesome, supportive little corner of the blockchain universe.

That all sounds nice, but what exactly can we expect from you?

Well, my lovelies, that is honestly still a bit of a mystery even to me. As is my nature, I’m leaving inspiration to guide me organically. I am trying to push myself into a regular schedule, which means you should see a post of some sort at least once/week. The theme of those posts could be anything from food & recipes, to artwork & crafting, to gardening & homesteading, to adventures in motherhood, or any other thing I feel might be worth a share.

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to (re)start this journey. I hope to see some familiar folks and make some new connections along the way.

See you soon!

Yep, that's pretty much why I do it. Somewhat for the community aspect - it is nice to chat with people - but also because it is so good for the brain to digest the activities of the day in word format. I agree, it does push you to be more creative. So happy future creativity :)
