The fresh air of my hometown.

This is the place where I was born and raised, this is the place that I still call home. This is the place for my great escape.

My hometown...

Although I live in the capital now; it feels like I left one portion of mine in my hometown. Maybe it's because all our relatives and parents live there. Or maybe we built a strong connection over time. There can be another reason for it. The lifestyle of this capital city is so tiring that most of us look for opportunities to escape someday.

Whatever it is...

One of my favorite things to do when I visit my hometown is roaming around random streets in a rickshaw. You may hear about this ride, it's a man pulling the vehicle. It has an open hood, you can breathe fresh air, have a vast sky over your head, and see the sights.

It's not because of nostalgia but mostly to see the slow phase of life there. It's never like the capital where people rush on the street, no one talks with anyone, and everything looks busy. It's quite opposite in my hometown. I get to see older people chatting on the side of the street, kids playing on the street, fewer vehicles, and random bystanders. It feels like I'm going through a film where everything is running slow. That's quite an experience!

On top of it, it's nature there. This city still has a good amount of green and breathing space. The sky is still not filled with highrises, the air seems fresh. When it rains, I get the smell of earth, the muddy streets don't piss me off. The photos may not seem very fascinating because it's like another town. But as I live in a quite dense place so it's a relatively better place for me.

We only get time to visit our hometown and meet our relatives once or twice a year. But that means everything. It works as fuel for the rest of our life. It gives us the time to feel more blessed and connected with life.

I'm truly blessed to have this little escape.
