Don't Let Small Things Ruin Your Day

Have you ever been in a situation where you started your day really great, with positive energy and motivation and all those stuff, and all of a sudden, a small action or event ruins it all? It could be anything as running out of supplies in your kitchen, getting an annoying text, someone irresponsibly cutting you off from your lane, or posting something on HIVE and not receiving any upvotes 😄. All those petty things are enough to trigger a domino effect causing you to ruin your entire day or possibly a couple of days. We can get hung up on those things and what's worse is that your grumpy attitude afterward affects even the people around you.

I went through something like that yesterday and I regret it now when I think of it. It all started with our dog pooping inside the house 😁. Normally that would never happen but on that occasion, no one took the dog outside for a poop break, and naturally, it had to let it go somewhere. That started heated arguments and blame games as to who was responsible for it. When people are getting into arguments, things from the past come up as well making the situation even worse. Conclusively, your entire day is ruined which could have been productively spent.

As human beings, we can be pretty defensive, especially when things don't go the way we want. At the heat of the moment, we often forget to think properly. Rather we act hastily, making us regret later. We are really good at complaining. We complain about things too much that we don't realize that the problem was actually within our own. Emotions such as anger, frustration, hurt, consumes our mind, and prevents us from making rational decisions. It's quite important to take an observational approach rather than behavioral in these situations.

It is vital that we take a moment to reflect on what had just happened. If we just take a deep breath, step back to think, and then decide how to react, we would be able to make a better judgment. Controlling our temper is essential as our anger just lits up the fire even more.

Had I taken calmer approach, like taking the responsibility for the event, or for the very least be less defensive, we wouldn't all had had a ruined Weekend. Lessons learned for next time 😄

Good post. It really is like that. Everything can be pretty damn perfect and yet you (meaning anyone) can let something stupid like dog poop, (really great example!) just send you off the deep end.

Life is way too short for that.

Yes, definitely. Sometimes we just need to calm down, let it go, and go on with our lives.

Yh, there are sometimes when I wake up feeling really but later in the day I feel bad because of what someone has said to me or done to me.

The best is that we don't get too hung up over it, Have a good day. :)

Thank you and you too

Great stuff, mate! This happens all to often, as we get hung up over little niggles that ruin an otherwise good day. From the smallest of distractions and annoyances, it shouldn't be allowed to dictate our joy and concentration from the goodness of the time to come. Sometimes, I'd even let a simple text message mess up my day... Silly me.

Niggles, word for the day for me 😄. And yeah, these things affects a sensitive person even more. It best to keep our emotions intact and get on with our lives rather than being hung up. Have a great day. :)

Lol! Remember, a word a day keeps the grammar police away 😆. Thanks for sharing!
