LIL: Medieval 1 | Mittelalter 1 [EN | DE]

EnglishLanguage.png

Hello Hivian,

Especially for the scene builders among our collage artists, I have pulled up and rendered a few medieval-themed 3D models from the depths of my collection of self-made stuff.
I hope someone can use them someday in an artwork or anything else.

Hallo Hivianer,

What is LIL?

LIL is the abbreviation for "Let's make a collage Image Library". It is an initiative of the LMAC(Let's make a collage) community to build a library of images that can be used as a material source for collages but also for other aspects.

The images in it are contributed by Hive users and automatically indexed by a bot. All images indexed so far can be found on lmac.gallery. They are linked there.

What I like to contribute

All the images provided here by me, are all made and rendered by myself in Gimp and Blender. And I have not used any non-free materials or technologies for them. All textures I used were procedurally generated. Only for the lighting I used HDRI textures. I found them on HDRI Heaven.
Herewith I make the renderings freely available via the #LIL.

Unfortunately, I rendered the market stall with sharp light and the other two models with diffuse light. That's why the market stall has a clear shadow. I didn't notice this until it was too late. Rendering always takes a lot of time.
If you need one of the models in a different angle or lighting, just let me know in the LMAC discord.

Was ich gerne beitragen möchte

Workbench impressions

To prove to you that I am the author of the images provided here and for information on how they were made, I have created a short slideshow of the models in development environment on which they are based.

🥂YaY! I can see a whole Art chapter with a lovely story here. I look forward to using these. Thank you always for your thoughtful contributions and all done by you, Bravo Quantumng Sir, you're a genius😊

Thank you! :-)
Most of the models I usualy contribute to #LIL I made just for practice. And there are also a lot of models among them that I once made for now dead projects. So it's a real serendepity to be part of a community where people can let their creativity run wild also with the renderings of my models. I'm very grateful for that!

/Serendepity/ I totally love that.
We do appreciate you Quantumg, we do!
💗🔥💗

What a great contribution! It's perfect to make a collage of the Viking era, now that the series is in trend. The vegetable store light is nice, I think it will look great in collages with a bright sun. 🌞

Thanks. Very glad you like it! :-)
Vikings? I LOVE these tiny little fierce warrior folks. Please let your own words be your inspiration. I'm happily looking forward seeing your Viking style collage. :-D

You label these medieval, but they just look rustic to me (My brother, as a boy, made a picnic table out of wood, from scratch--your pieces remind me of that). It must be wonderful to create these things. It's like being a virtual artisan. The items jump off the page and suggest all manner of things. Just great @quantumg. Nothing like them anywhere. They are yours. They are unique.

Thanks @agmoore. I truly appreciate you stopped by. :-)

You're of course absolutely right. It could be rustic elements as well. Or Viking style stuff, as mballesteros stated. And as I can remember, not so long ago all this stuff could be easily found in every small village around the world. I guess my grandparents still knew water wells like those. Definitely, in my very young years I knew farmers owning such kind of wooden wheelbarrows.
How quickly things evolve these days, and how long it all remained the same before. Incredibly fascinating!

It's like being a virtual artisan.

A little bit, yes. But often I also feel a bit as if I were an illusionist when doing 3d modelling.
One of my hobbies is carving. When I carve a figure, I have to carve the shape out of the wood. It is what it is, whether it's in my vise or on the shelf.
With 3D modeling, it's sufficient enough to make the viewer think it's a carved shape. However, such effects are quite often just pure illusion and not even in the virtual world of 3D models it is an honest result of a job similarly done.
But well, Bob Ross's "happy little accidents" also finally contribute to illusion. ^__^

Have you ever tried Blender? It's a paradise for animation lovers!

Oh, I've written way too much again. Sorry :-D
Have a great and restful Sunday. 👐 :-)

Hello my friend,
How could you possibly write too much? I love to 'listen' to you when you write. There is always a calm presence that comes through. You have a great writing voice. Most people don't have a voice at all when they write.

I didn't know that you carved. So does my brother. Started with simple carpentry, and became a builder, eventually (small time, no big business). I think that picnic table was his first project :)) Carving, imagining shapes and bringing them to life in your hands is a rare talent.

You have written about Blender before. It might be a challenge for me to learn, but then everything I've done on Hive was once a challenge, so maybe I should check it out.

Hope you are having a restful, creative weekend. Being creative is such an essential part of who you are.

Regards...
