Currently, a scam model is being developed on Steemit and Hive where a fake AIRDROP of 400 STEEMS is promoted.
You will receive an invitation to claim that airdrop and inviting you to access:
https://justhive.blogspot.com/
Once on that page you will find a "CLAIM NOW" button:
By pressing that button, the link will take you to a fake "STEEMCONNECT". Look at the address bar of your browser:
NEVER PROVIDE YOUR MASTER KEY, ANYWHERE ... TO ANYONE.
Many of you will say:
"you have to be very foolish to be stogged with that ..."
But, believe it or not, many people have already done it.
Perhaps pressured by a stressful financial situation, perhaps tempted by greed, or simply believed that the promotion was true.
Structure of the scam
- Once the unwary provide their master key, all their keys are immediately updated. The thieves change all the keys and thus the original owner loses control over his account.
- Next step, a 100% powerdown is activated.
Where do the funds go?
All funds from unclaimed rewards and powerdown are transferred to accounts:
https://steemd.com/@contestbuddy
https://hiveblocks.com/@contestbuddy
...and from there they go to Probit:
Goodbye to funds.
Final Reflection
Brothers and Sisters, we must take care of our keys. They are a gold mine for us.
We must be alert to this type of scams, communication is key in this regard. Before taking a step, consult your friends, and remember:
No one is ever going to give you money for nothing, money is obtained with work and sacrifice.

I know several friends who are living sad moments due to that.
They can recover their account keys by using the Owner key to change all other keys.
If they lost their owner keys or it has been intercepted by the hacker (for example, they used it to log in to a phishing website), then the accounts can not be recovered.

That user has sent me several messages in different publications, from the beginning I found it very suspicious. I decided to block it and for the first time I used my negative votes. I hope that this information reaches many so that they know the risk they are if they decide to enter those links.

Unfortunately, they are probably out of luck and will have learnt a difficult lesson. Protecting keys is so important but can be difficult for people to judge when presented with a site that looks authentic. That is why I prefer external apps like Hive Keychain that provides a degree of abstraction from the website during the authentication process. We also need to do research before jumping into something new. I hope your friends are not deterred and managed to rebuild their profiles.

Thanks a lot for this scam alert article. It's weird for people to still fall under these tricks but as you said, greed and financial stress could make someone believe something he/she would never believe in a normal day.
