Introduction

We continue to emphasize the vital importance that the link between science and technology has had, this in relation to the implementation of knowledge obtained from the phenomena of light, such knowledge we can say that science has made it available to the field of technology and thus able to design any optical instrument, among which we have already known in a general way, the microscope, binoculars, camera, overhead projector, LDC projector, sextant and this time the video camera.

The capacity of invention or creation of man has been remarkable, this has been clearly proven when we relate to the previous instruments, but the list is innumerable, our purpose is to get to know in a general way some devices that have left and continue to leave their traces among all of us.

When we talk about the camera we could emphasize that many of our activities or important moments have been immortalized through this optical instrument, since the same one as we know allows us to capture or to capture an image of our environment, nevertheless, in this opportunity we bring another optical instrument which has allowed us to go beyond the simple capture of the image, either of an object, body or plane of our environment.

In relation to the above, this instrument allows us to record a certain space-time of our activities, that is, now with movements and sounds, and as we know, these extraordinary and outstanding features have made this wonderful optical instrument one of the most implemented today by modern humanity, we are talking about the video camera.

Knowing a little of this instrument we can say, that in its optical section it presents a complex system of lenses, where, one is in a fixed way, therefore, its focal length is constant, and this referred distance is related to the length that exists between the end of the lens and the film or photosensitive surface, as for the zoom lenses we can say that its focal length is changing.

The video camera

The implementation of this important tool has spread throughout our society, and thus, to their most basic daily activities, undoubtedly, this optical instrument has become the main format of dissemination at the global level, such action or impact could be related to the development of other important areas such as the Internet, as well as the great generation of mobile phones (cell phones) with optical devices to record and edit videos.

In relation to the above, this optical instrument is very popular, however, it is important to emphasize that thanks to its great utility this powerful technological tool has managed to cross the barrier of simple popularity or fashion, and that we are faithful witnesses.

The video camera is a very complex instrument, and it is structured by components such as a sealed or hermetic receptacle whose primary function is to allow only the entry of light which passes through the lens and thus prevent those rays of light from the outside can impact on the film or photosensitive plate.

Continuing with the general description of the components of this instrument, we have that it also has a mechanical system, a viewfinder with the purpose of observing a certain plane through the lens, and it also has an objective lens, and as has already been expressed in previous publications, this component (objective) is made up of several lenses and constitutes the most important optical component of this instrument.

It is important to be able to observe some of the components mentioned above, which together with the zoom lens define the optics of a video camera, as shown in the following figure 1.

It is important to be able to express that in a general way, all the video cameras, apart from the electronic complexity and the referred system of recording, are composed or constituted by three essential parts, the objective, the image device and the viewfinder, this we can visualize in the following figure 2.

Conclusion

With each step that we have pointed out so far, we can say that the usefulness of each of the optical instruments analyzed is surprising, therefore, from the simplest instrument to the most complex, they have given us any kind of benefit, and also facilitated, the realization of any activity of ours.

The understanding of the phenomenon of light, through science, has allowed us such technological advances, to be able to provide more and more quality to an image has been the main task of optics and the field of technology, and this as we know has been demonstrated over time, since we have reached the newest optical instruments, such as video cameras incorporated into modern cell phones.

The video camera or video camera today, has earned its space in society, and this speaking from any field, where we can highlight its implementation in the educational field, communication, science, among others, this has greatly facilitated the transfer of any knowledge and information, and we know.

Technology and science, when they come together, usually create very good things for everyone.
The cameras revolutionized many things, created other types of art (film, photography, etc), in addition to creating other professions such as editors.
But few people imagine that there is behind all this that seems to be a very simple instrument, but has a great relevance in society.
