Cardboard House for Stray Cats 🐈 🏠

When Turkey is mentioned, stray cats come to mind. We really have countless cats on the streets. Even though I don't feel very sad in the summer, I feel sorry for them in the winter. The Thrace side is extra cold in winter._

While returning from the market yesterday, I saw cats sheltering in a corner in the rain. It saddened me to see them like that. I felt helpless as I thought about what I would do for them. Stray animals are truly the bleeding wound of our society.

I never report the animal I see on the streets to the municipal officials because the municipal nursing homes are in very bad conditions. So it's better for them to stay on the streets instead of going there.

As a matter of fact, when the atrocities experienced in municipal shelters in my country came to the agenda, all animal-loving people mobilized.

In short,our state shelters are in a very bad condition. That's why I don't want any stray animals to go to shelters.In fact, my neighbors, who were disturbed by the dogs in my neighborhood for a while, called the municipality and asked them to take them.

I did not allow this by starting a fight. Because death awaits them there. Puppies and large dogs are all kept together in the open shelter. In some of the shelter footage, I saw animals eating each other with hunger.

These images will never be erased from my mind. I am trying my best to deal with this situation. Maybe what I'm doing is small, but at least I'm trying for them. The night I saw the cats lying in the rain, I couldn't sleep. I wanted to make a small space for them to take shelter.

I made the cardboard house you see with the materials I have on hand. I used a thick cardboard box. I insulated it with pieces of styrofoam. I wrapped 3 layers of nylon bag on the outside. Thus, rainwater will not damage the cardboard. I don't know how long this house will last, but I think it will hold them for a while. My concern is that any paper collector or bad person will damage this house. I had to do something to warn them and make them feel compassion. So all I could do was write about it. I wrote on a piece of paper "Please do not spoil this house, if you do, God will destroy your home too. Karma will find you" and pasted it on the box.

It is very painful to have to write this. I wish everyone was a good person, but unfortunately this does not happen. Well, at least I did my best for them. Anyway, by the way, I added the cushions of my cats at home to the box. Thus, when they lie down, it will not be cold from below.

Winter is here so please do something for the stray animals around you. Take good care of yourself until we meet again. And stay a good person.
