A stroll along Digbeth Branch Canal, it is a short linking canal; just a mile or so long that was completed and first used in 1789. The area was once a hive of activity of heavy engineering, warehousing and back to back terraced houses.
Now the area is undergoing gentrification, and is on the route of the money wasting HS2 railway that the UK Govt. is so eager to build, for what reason? So suit clad businessmen can travel from Manchester to London and save an hour on their journey, at a cost of £billions tax payers money. I could write a tome about this but we are not here for politics.
A gull feasting on something and party balloons that have escaped the city
Virtually in the city centre, the pink mosaic building is the Birmingham Bull Ring Shopping Center. The canal passes through the suburb of Digbeth; a play area for Graffiti artists; not to everyone's taste, but I love it I think it adds something to the beauty of the area.
Some of the former industrial warehouses that lined the canal, materials coming in goods going out.
This last snap is of Typhoo Wharf, where tea was barged up from London to be blended and packaged before distribution as the finished loose leaf tea, product.
Which reminds me, time for a brew, see you all later

A really genius reflection photo with the seagull and the balloons! Also the third photo, nice work. I do like all the photos but these two were the best ones. :)
