Bienvenidos a mi Blog

This is my first publication in this community, so I introduce myself: I am César Díaz, I study philosophy, I consider myself a Hellenist, I love Greek mythology and I love history in general, I try to practice stoicism as a way of life. Personally I think I came late to reading, at the age of 16 was the first time I took a book "seriously". A small booklet from the publisher Oveja Negra, that booklet contained many stories by Gabriel García Márquez.

I don't think I have stopped reading since then, and I have become a book addict. Today in fact I was dusting my little bookcase, I have some of my books there... while dusting the books I came across this little book by Adouls Huxley that I bought a couple of years ago but have not yet read.

So I picked it up and decided to start reading it. And right off the bat, in its first two lines of the preface it has amazed me. It reads like this:

"The soul of knowledge can become the very body of falsehood."

One of the consequences of having studied philosophy is that I have a slow, reflective and meditative reading. And when I came across this first idea of the text, I stopped to think. And I wondered, what did the author mean in this sentence? If I have learned anything from books, it is to look between the lines, to discover what those empty spaces between the words say, that sometimes a text says more with what it does not say than with what it says.

The silence of a book, as long as it is an excellent book, sometimes says much more than the words it contains.
I started reading it today, and I have not advanced much, only a couple of pages, I think I have stumbled upon one of those texts that demand tribute, attention, those texts that demand from your spirit.

I thought, how can the soul of knowledge, as a soul, become a body? But not just any body, but the body of falsehood. And I thought, why did the author use those words and not others?

He could have said that the body of knowledge can also be the body of falsehood, at first glance it seems the same thing, but no. He used the word "soul" of knowledge. He used the word "soul" of knowledge. That is to say, knowledge possesses a soul that vivifies it, it is not a mere body, thus avoiding any mere mechanistic possibility.

I believe that the soul of knowledge has the capacity to be multiform, but under the right circumstances it can emerge from the soul of knowledge, the body of falsehood, however, I still do not know what those circumstances are. I imagine that the text will be an attempt to discuss this phenomenon.

I will read it, and then I will tell you.

Gracias por leer.

Thanks for reading.

Caramba!
