Preacher volume 5 Comics Review/ Kaznodzieja Recenzja Tomu 5

Volume 5 of Preacher continues to be a great and exciting adventure, but with a slightly softer tone, which works out quite well for the overall story.
Volume 5 begins when Jessy falls in the desert after being thrown from a plane, he doesn't remember much.

The wandering results when he sees the small town of Salvation, Texas. There he meets an old acquaintance and decides to stay for a while. After a while, it turns out that the town is being attacked by meat factory workers and Jessy becomes sheriff.

It's a comic that further develops Jesse's world and we get to know his mum, but also reflect on whether there is meaning in the mission he is tasked with.

There is a lot going on here and the level of madness increases from page to page. The crazed director of the meat factory, will want many times to foil the plan to rid the town of criminals.

However, the final skirmish with Jesse will be in good Garth Ennis style.
The story that is presented here is a rather peculiar alternative vision of the film High Noon and other such works where a small settlement has to fight a battle against criminals.
Of course, it's a Garth Ennis comic so we'll see a Nazi lady lawyer or a kkk here, but always the negative characters are portrayed in such a way as to provoke laughter.

The main villain is a necrophile who wants to destroy the town just to show who is stronger.
The story reads quickly, and the closer we get to the finale the more we learn and can be surprised by a character we thought might be positive.
The second story in this volume is Tulip's genesis, which is her growing up alone with her father and how he did so much for her, and the unfortunate accident that left her alone with not much except a friend. Tulip's story is sad, even depressing in places, but the closer we get to the end the more we see in her the brave Tulip from previous volumes.

The 2 stories are great in this volume, one a light western style with the craziness only Garth Ennis can give, and in the other a quiet coming of age story about madness and escaping everything bad around you.
We also get an episode dealing with an encounter with God and what happens in the finale of the story.
If you haven't heard of Preacher before, I recommend it, even though it can be iconoclastic to the extreme and the holiness here is only superficial, the storyline is so engrossing that you will have a great time, and you will also get to know Jesse's mother, who almost died at the hands of her grandmother.
I recommend it because Preacher has established itself in the world of comics and is considered a magnum opus and many creators have subsequently been inspired by it. The brutality yes, the exaggeration as much as possible, the madness of course, but the storyline is the most important thing here and you will have a great time.
The comic is thick at over 300 pages and the hardcover edition looks nice.
Soon volume 6 and the finale of the whole journey and the end of the madness.

5 Tom Kaznodzieji to dalej świetna i emocjonująca przygoda, jednak lekko w łagodniejszym tonie, co całości opowieści wychodzi całkiem dobrze.
5 Tom rozpoczyna się kiedy Jessy spada na pustyni po tym jak został wyrzucony z samolotu, niewiele pamięta.

Tułaczka przynosi rezultat kiedy widzi małe miasteczko Salvation w Teksasie. Tam poznaje dawna znajoma i postanawia na chwile zostać. Po pewnym czasie okazuje się, ze miasteczko jest atakowane przez pracowników fabryki mięsa, a Jessy zostaje szeryfem.

To komiks, ktory jeszcze mocniej rozwija świat Jessego i poznajemy jego mamę, ale i rozmyślenia, czy jest sens w misji jaka ma za zadanie spełnić.

Wiele się tutaj dzieje, a poziom szaleństwa wzrasta z ze strony na stronę. Szaleńczy dyrektor fabryki mięsa, będzie chciał wiele razy zniweczyć plan uwolnienia miasteczka od przestępców.

Jednak ostateczna potyczka z Jessym będzie w dobrym stylu Gartha Ennisa.
Historia jaka tutaj jest prezentowana to dość specyficzna alternatywna wizja filmu W samo południe i inne tego typu dzieła gdzie mała osada musi stoczyć walkę z przestępcami.
Oczywiście to komiks Gartha Ennisa wiec zobaczymy tutaj nazistowska panią adwokat czy kkk, jednak zawsze negatywne postacie są tak ukazane by wywołać śmiech.

Główny złoczyńca to nekrofil, ktory pragnie zniszczyć miasteczko tylko po to by pokazać kto jest silniejszy.
Historie czyta się szybko, a im bliżej finału tym więcej dowiadujemy się i możemy się zaskoczyć pewna postacią, która myśleliśmy, ze może być pozytywna.
Druga historia w tym tomie geneza Tulip, czyli jej dorastanie samotne z ojcem i to jak wiele dla niej zrobił, a nieszczęśliwy wypadek spowodował, ze została sama nie maja zbyt wiele oprócz koleżanki. Historia Tulip jest smutna, miejscami wręcz przygnębiająca, jednak im bliżej końca tym bardziej widzimy w niej ta waleczna Tulip z poprzednich tomów.

2 historie są w tym tomie świetne, jedna lekka w stylu westernu z szaleństwem jaki tylko może dać Garth Ennis, a w drugiej spokojna opowieść o dojrzewaniu o szaleństwie i uciecze od wszystkiego co złe wokół.
Dostajemy tez którymi epizod związany z spotkaniem z Bogiem i tym co wydarzy się w finale tej opowieści.
Jeśli nie znaliście wcześniej Kaznodzieji to polecam, mimo, ze bywa obrazoburczy do granic możliwości, a świętość jest tutaj wręcz tylko powierzchniowa to jednak fabuła jest tak wciągająca, ze będziecie się świetnie bawić, a przy tym poznacie mamę Jessyego, która omal nie zginęła z rak babci.
Polecam bo Kaznodzieja ugruntował pozycje w świecie komiksów i jest uważany za opus magnum i wiele twórców później zaczęło się nim inspirować. Brutalność owszem, przerysowanie jak najbardziej, szaleństwo oczywiście, jednak fabuła jest tutaj najważniejsza i będziecie się świetnie bawić.
Komiks jest gruby ma ponad 300 stron, a wydanie w twardej oprawie ładnie się prezentuje.
Niedługo tom 6 i finał całej podróży i kres szaleństwa.
