Hello my dear reader friends, today I want to share with you the joy I feel after receiving this wonderful gift that I have been waiting for so long and that I received from one of my cousins, it is "The Tales of Beddle, the Bard", which appears in the plot of the last of the Harry Potter novels, in this book, its original author J. K. Rowling, convinces us that it was written by a wizard, Beddle, as a kind of magical equivalent of the Grim Brothers, who were in charge of writing most of the fairy tales known to to muggle children (without magic). Join me for my impressions.
Hola mis queridos amigos lectores, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la alegría que me embarga después de recibir este maravilloso regalo que tanto esperé y que recibí por parte de uno de mis primos, se trata de "Los Cuentos de Beddle, el Bardo", el cual aparece dentro de la trama de la última de las novelas de Harry Potter, en este libro, su autora original J.K Rowling, nos convence de que fue escrito por un mago, Beddle, como una especie de equivalente mágico de los hermanos Grim, quienes fueron los encargados de escribir la mayoría de los cuentos de hadas que conocen los niños muggles (sin magia) Acompáñenme a conocer mis impresiones.
The first thing I should mention is that although there are many covers of this work, I like this one from the Spanish publisher Salamandra, which is in charge of Rowling's books in Spanish. The book is hardback and looks of very good quality, the cover is beautiful and certainly makes us think of a children's story, handling a fairly broad colour palette and with illustrations that give us an idea of some of the stories that we will find inside.
Lo primero que debo mencionar es que aunque hay muchísimas portadas de esta obra, me gusta más esta que tiene la editorial española Salamandra y que es la encargada de los libros de Rowling en español. El libro es de tapa dura y se ve de muy buena calidad, la portada es hermosa y ciertamente nos hace pensar en un cuento para niños, manejando una paleta de colores bastante amplia y con ilustraciones que nos dan una idea de algunas de las historias que encontraremos en el interior.
The Beddle Tales, the Bard is a compendium of five stories that wizarding parents usually read or tell their children at bedtime, just as Muggle parents tell the story of Snow White, Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, and just like those stories of the Brothers Grim, these also leave a message that basically tries to instil in little wizards and witches respect and empathy towards the Muggle community. Best of all, it features Albus Dumbledore's interpretation at the end of each story, as this copy supposedly belonged to him and was subsequently bequeathed to Hermione Granger who translated it from the ancient runes.
Los Cuentos de Beddle, el Bardo son un compendio de cinco historias que los padres magos suelen leer o contar a sus hijos a la hora de dormir, así como los padres muugles cuentan la historia de Blancanieves, Cenicienta o la Bella Durmiente, y al igual que esas historias de los hermanos Grim, estas también dejan un mensaje que básicamente intenta inculcar en los pequeños magos y brujas el respeto y la empatía hacia la comunidad muggle. Lo mejor de todo es que cuenta con la interpretación de Albus Dumbledore al final de cada historia, ya que se supone que este ejemplar pertenecía a él y posteriormente se lo legó a Hermione Granger quien lo tradujo de las runas antiguas.
Another of the things I loved most about this book is the fact that J.K Rowling was finally allowed to include her own illustrations, something she had wanted to do with the main Harry Potter saga, so we realise that she is not only talented as a writer, but also as an illustrator. It is also curious to add that each of the characters and elements that she represented graphically, is exactly as I imagined it. It is also worth noting that while some of the drawings and stories might be shocking to magical children, it is nothing that the Brothers Grim and their terrifying versions of the tales were not done and later toned down quite a bit by Disney.
Otra de las cosas que más amé de este libro es el hecho de que finalmente le permitieron a J.K Rowling incluir sus propias ilustraciones, algo que ella había querido hacer con la saga principal de Harry Potter, de esta manera nos damos cuenta de que ella no solo tiene talento como escritora, sino también como ilustradora. Resulta curioso además añadir que cada uno de los personajes y elementos que ella representó de forma gráfica, es tal cual como lo imaginé. Cabe destacar también que aunque algunos dibujos e historias pudieran resultar impactantes para los niños mágicos, no es nada que no hayan hecho los hermanos Grim y sus aterradoras versiones de los cuentos que más tarde Disney suavizó bastante.
My favourite of the stories in this book is undoubtedly "The Fountain of Good Fortune", whose moral is very interesting, it raises the issue of suggestion, which apparently was or is also a resource used in the world of magic, among other things, as healing, in the same way that it was and is used by Muggles and that science calls "Mesmerism". And of course Albus Dumbledore's point of view on the matter is also very interesting, and he also made some annotations so that Muggles, or people who have never read the main Harry Potter saga, can understand what he is referring to.
Mi historia favorita de las que aparecen en este libro, sin lugar a dudas es "La Fuente de la Buena Fortuna" cuya moraleja es bien interesante, nos plantea el tema de la sugestión que al parecer también fue o es un recurso utilizado en el mundo de la magia, entre otras cosas, para la sanación, de la misma forma que fue y es utilizado por los muggles y que la ciencia llama "Mesmerismo". Y desde luego también es interesantísimo el punto de vista de Albus Dumbledore al respecto, quien hizo algunas anotaciones para que los muggles, o personas que jamás han leído la saga principal de Harry Potter puedan entender a lo que él se refiere.
And of course the most waited story for many is "The Tele of the Three Brothers" which is the only one of these that has a special mention in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and in fact it is part of the main plot in a very creative way, and it also has a beautiful audiovisual scene worthy of note.
Y desde luego la historia más esperada por muchos es "La Fabula de los Tres Hermanos" que es la única de estas que tiene una mención especial en "Harry Potter y las Reliquias de la Muerte" y de hecho forma parte de la trama principal de una forma bastante creativa, además cuenta con una escena audiovisual hermosísima y digna de destacar.
I really enjoyed reading this beautiful book and I am also happy that this one almost completes the collection of additional books to the main saga.
De verdad que disfruté muchísimo leyendo este hermoso libro y además estoy feliz porque con este casi completo la colección de libros adicionales a la saga principal.
I think it's wonderful that J.K Rowling has released these additional books, not only because it's a way of perpetuating the saga that we Potterheads love, but also because they support foundations such as "Comic Relief" and "The Children's Voice" to support underprivileged children in economic and educational matters.
Me parece maravilloso que J.K Rowling haya sacado al mercado estos libros adicionales, no solo porque es una forma de perpetuar la saga que los potterheads amamos, sino porque sirven de apoyo para fundaciones como "Comic Relief" y "The Children's Voice" para apoyar a los niños menos favorecidos en materia economica y educativa.

You have a good review here, I can see how much you love this book and J.K Rowling, it's really good to hear a lot of tales from the other side with good morals for kids to learn, and also you mentioned it was writing as Albus Dumbledore's book, I really like the Dumbledore's they are like the home of magic thanks for sharing

Si bien tengo mis diferencias con JK en cuanto a su vida personal, al menos al tocar su trabajo siempre puedo señalar lo integrado que es en cuanto a su objetivo, los niños, Jk siempre ha sido una escritora para niños consumada y que ama crear historias que nos enseñen tanto a ellos como a nosotros, los adultos, saludos y un abrazo enorme, buena recomendación :)
Un abrazo también para ti, a mi me encanta J.K y sí creo que sus historias no son solo para niños, al menos no Harry Potter, aunque sí que empezaron siendo una historia para niños, pero a medida que avanzó, la historia fue creciendo y madurando junto con su protagonista.
