Cuando era más pequeño, unos 9 o 10 años, alguna vez llegué a pensar que mi personalidad se veía afectada por alguno de los espectros de la personalidad, ciertamente no lo pensé con tanta objetividad pero era algo que me revolaba por la mente según me costaba conseguir amistades. Creo que precisamente eso hace que al día de hoy sea tan cercano con quiénes consigo conectar y no solo como personas sino también como personaje.

Newt Scamander, protagonista de la saga de “Animales Fantásticos y dónde encontrarlos” (Y autor del libro con el mismo nombre) es ciertamente uno de esos personajes a los que me apego de una forma diferente a la que estoy acostumbrado, viendo que en Superman puedes mirarte y soñar que tú también eres el hombre de acero, quieres ser él y te aferras a la idea de que siendo él quizás tu vida sería mejor, al menos en los ojos de un niño de 7 u 8 años, pero, el caso de Newt es bastante diferente: frágil, con una notoria falta de círculo social, incomprendido por su obsesión con animales que en algunas partes del mundo (previo a la publicación del libro) estaban prohibidas, es un personaje que te aseguro que no te resultará tan atractivo si solo quieres realzar tu ego varonil dónde eres perfecto y nada te toca.

When I was younger, about 9 or 10 years old, I once thought that my personality was affected by one of the personality spectrums, I certainly didn't think so objectively but it was something that kept running through my mind as I struggled to make friends. I think that's what makes me so close to who I connect with today, not only as a person but also as a character.
Newt Scamander, protagonist of the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" saga (and author of the book with the same name) is certainly one of those characters to whom I get attached in a different way than I am used to, seeing that in Superman you can look at yourself and dream that you are also the man of steel, you want to be him and you cling to the idea that being him maybe your life would be better, at least in the eyes of a 7 or 8 year old child, but, Newt's case is quite different: fragile, with a notorious lack of social circle, misunderstood for his obsession with animals that in some parts of the world (prior to the book's publication) were forbidden, he is a character that I assure you will not be so attractive to you if you just want to enhance your manly ego where you are perfect and nothing touches you.

Newt Scamander es importante como personaje para una cantidad de personas que sienten el temor a flor de piel con cada cruce de miradas que dan, con sus pasiones que no forman parte de lo cotidiano y el deseo de superar cada obstáculo, viendo que, todo lo que tú sientes que es raro, para los demás es normal y se intercambian papeles según el ángulo de enfoque

Es una pena que la saga de animales fantásticos haya sido cancelada, pudo haber sido llevada de mejor forma, los niños, adolescentes y adultos necesitamos poder identificarnos con alguien que nos haga sentir que somos parte del mundo, sin la necesidad de que nos vendan productos vacíos, tenemos suficientes personajes (casi) omnipotentes con excelente desarrollo, en la propia saga de Rowling hacen acto de presencia hechiceros como Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape y una diversa cantidad de nombres que difícilmente no conoces, por curiosidad o por casualidad, porque son nombres que forman parte de la cultura popular universal.

Newt Scamander is important as a character for a number of people who feel fear at the surface with every glance they give, with his passions that are not part of everyday life and the desire to overcome every obstacle, seeing that everything that you feel is strange, for others is normal and roles are exchanged depending on the angle of focus.
It's a pity that the Fantastic Animal saga has been cancelled, it could have been handled in a better way, children, teenagers and adults need to be able to identify with someone who makes us feel that we are part of the world, without the need to be sold empty products, we have enough (almost) omnipotent characters with excellent development, in Rowling's own saga wizards like Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape and a diverse amount of names that you hardly know, out of curiosity or by chance, because they are names that are part of the universal popular culture.

Personajes en la cultura universal que aportan constantemente al desarrollo de nuevas entidades que figuran a pesar de no ser lo naturalmente adecuado, no queremos ser deportistas ni empresarios, quizás soñamos en ser como Borges, García Márquez o Vargas llosa. Comparando al señor Scamander con un genuino intelectual viéndolo desde el punto de vista del mundo mágico, los animales lo hacen ser un “incomprendido” pero de cierta forma su único interés es que eso lo hace feliz. Es el mismo punto cuando decido sentarme a escribir una canción, escribir una historia o cuando era niño y tomaba un libro para leer y sentirme de forma diferente a la que me hacía sentir el abrumante mundo exterior. ¿O no?

Nunca hubiese tenido valor para hacer las cosas que he hecho en esta vida si no existiesen personajes con los que siento afinidad, porque, bien está dicho que no me siento único, tampoco realmente diferente, solo quiero ser feliz de una perspectiva diferente, soy quién soy porque he sabido buscar en la rigidez de la vida a un personaje, una historia, un cuento o una anécdota que me ha hecho sentir vivo. Así y solo así, podría decirse que logré convocar mi patronus por primera vez para liberarme de todo lo que me hacía sentir mal y ver, de cierta forma, la luz que habitaba dentro de mí

I would never have had the courage to do the things I have done in this life if there were no characters with whom I feel affinity, because, it is well said that I don't feel unique, nor really different, I just want to be happy from a different perspective, I am who I am because I have been able to search in the rigidity of life for a character, a story, a tale or an anecdote that has made me feel alive. Thus and only thus, it could be said that I managed to summon my patronus for the first time to free myself from everything that made me feel bad and to see, in a way, the light that lived inside me.
