Tempeh Nuggets

Tempeh nuggets are vegan nuggets that are easy to make using simple and natural ingredients, so they are perfect for serving healthy nuggets for your family at home.

Tempe is a processed soybean product that is very popular, has a very distinctive texture and taste, making this product in great demand by various groups. Tempe is processed for a variety of delicious dishes that will never disappoint you. The taste is almost very similar to meat, so this product is always sold out in the market. Tempe is usually sold at very cheap prices in Indonesia, the local factories that produce tempe around my house don't make it difficult for me to get fresh tempe here. Even if they have a bad form of tempe they always give it to us for free. It is one of the blessings of living close to a tempe processing factory.

Well, apart from being easy to get, because the price is relatively cheap, we make tempeh as a side dish in the village, so it is very familiar to us to process various menus from tempeh. Not only fresh tempeh, even in our area we process rotten tempeh into delicious food. My friends will invite you to cook, see step by step below.

Materials Used

  • 1 board of tempeh
  • 100 grams of wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 30 grams of fanir flour
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon broth powder

Here I use 1 medium sized board of tempeh, if you want to prepare a lot, you can adjust the size of the tempe to be bigger and also adjust the spices you use. This portion is for the nuggets that I got 13 pieces of nuggets with a large size. It takes about 20 minutes to prepare these nuggets, you can already enjoy them.

Cooking Procedure

Step 1

The first time you prepare tempeh, and cut some small or thin pieces of tempeh. Then blender the garlic until smooth with a little water.

Step 8

If everything has been covered with fanir flour, fry everything in hot oil, or if you store it as frozen food it is also very good.

After I fry the tempeh nuggets and drain them for a while, they are ready to be served. I usually eat these nuggets while having lunch with white rice. It can replace meat nuggets for me, the texture is soft inside and crispy outside really really fits. Moreover, dipped in a typical chili from Indonesia to increase your appetite at home.

Tempe nuggets can replace non-vegan nuggets made from meat. But with the combination of processed tempeh from vegetable products, this makes something new and very delicious. Aside from being a side dish for lunch, these nuggets can also be used as a snack for your child at home. As you know, children rarely like unprocessed tempeh, but believe me, if it is processed into nuggets, they will be interested in eating it. So, good luck trying the recipe at home, dear greetings from me @nurfay.

Hi @grocko, Thank you for the best compliment and also for stopping by my post.

Tempeh is fermented soybeans, I think you can get them in Asian stores and maybe try them one day.

Wow, we are the same age, greetings to a generation too!

I don't have Asian stores where I live, or at least not good ones. 😅

Thanks for responding and have a nice day. 🙂

Awesome, I'm getting hungry just looking at the pictures!

Thank you sis

Just looking at the picture of your vegan Nuggets made my mouth water. I deeply regret that where I live soy is not available in this presentation, in fact, it is the first time I see it. I love your recipe, I hope someday to be able to make it. The aesthetics of your post is also wonderful.

Glad to hear you like it, I hope you can find a kind of tempeh in your country.
