Germany sent many people, including Jews, to work camps during World War 2, very similar to what the United States did to the Japanese. However, most of what we're told about a focused industrialized effort to mass murder Jews in those camps is fabrication.

First off...
Eugenics is an American idea as well as the prisoner of war reservation / concentration camp idea that was shared through multiple actions. Boer war.
Actually the world was really amazed because Germany actually went through and cleaned its own gene pool up using the entire eugenics idea.
Worst part is, is that Germans wrote everything down.
We are talking like 34 million individuals were liquidated. I've actually studied the conflict quite a bit in depth as well as especially this part.

You might want to look up the killer nurses of the third Reich. Lately more investigation into all of these old records hasn't covered the nurses and medical practitioner side. Part of all of what you don't see of the atrocities happened in hospitals. They would casually euthanize people for the betterment of the gene pool.
That is why for a while there they did rise pretty high. And as well the infrastructure placed into the camps.
However just like all tragic issues in the 20th century more people died at the hands of government than any other cause. Holodomr? Think I misspelled that one but that it actually happened just before all of this...
There were massive amounts of death back then. None of it right.
