No, masks are not mandatory (even in AZ & NV)

Hello beautiful humans!

Excited to be dropping in with you, however briefly, on my way back to Babylon after 2 weeks at the Jackalope Freedom Festival! I'll be doing a more in-depth write-up and/or video about the event soon, but for now I just wanted to share some of the joys of mask-free travel since leaving the land.

As many of you already know, Natural Grocers is pretty much my go-to grocery store in the US. They only sell organic produce, they focus on tons of local & vegan options, they are the only big chain that doesn't use trash compactors or lock their dumpsters (meaning all that "outdated" food doesn't have to go to waste), they clearance things out before tossing them... and they don't hassle people for not wearing masks!

The first NG that we hit after Jackfest was in Prescott, Arizona, and not only were the employees super friendly (and didn't mention masks at all), but there were 2 separate customers who came up and said hello, expressed happiness at seeing other humans, etc. The next one was in Las Vegas - and while the customers seemed far more like terrified covidiots than anyone I had seen in a month or more, the employees were still super friendly and didn't hassle us at all.

Moral of the story: shop at Natural Grocers (unless you've got an even cooler option around)

See y'all soon!

they are forcing us to wear them in Colorado - it sucks. Yes they tell me to put my face covering on in Thornton, Co - tell me to put it up over my nose. I guess I could do the Hippa thing and I might but a lot of times I just put the neck gator up to avoid controversy... thanks so much for sharing about the Jackalope Freedom Fest - I did not know about that - next year! I hope...

That's so odd. I haven't had an issue in any state, and I've been to NG in OR, ID, WY, CO, NM, AZ, and NV in the last month :-/

Maybe it's just my protective force fields :-P

yea well it's "mandatory" in CO now - so before that, I could go in any NG and not wear a mask, except wheat ridge because the governor of wheat ridge is a mask nazi - so the security guards at wheat ridge would pound you upon entering - Thornton is much more loose - downtown Denver is insane - I won't go there anymore - and it is no longer a pleasure to shop at my favorite store - NG

so was the jackalope freedom fest connected to Rainbow or separate and are there any other festivals like that upcoming? I am sorry I missed that
