Promote your Youtube: ---------Let's make each other Youtube famous in order to promote Hive

I know we all love Hive, I certainly do, otherwise we wouldn't have stuck it out through so many ups and downs. A lot of time and energy has gone into this platform. It deserves to do well. It's a good platform with a lot of things that make it very special.

The network effect is what is going to help us grow. But the network effect doesn't happen if we don't have a network to connect with. If all of us are only friends with each other on twitter, we don't have a wide reach. If we all just post our videos on 3speak and dtube, they won't reach anyone off the platform. We are not building a network this way.

I propose that some of us who are interested, try to grow our fanbase/friendbase/network off the platform in order to create ramps on to the platform.

The hardest thing about succeeding on traditional social media is that the algorithms always screw us if we don't have enough people adding, liking, commenting, etc. We have over 10,000 users at Hive. That's not massive, but it's enough to get some momentum going with the Youtube/facebook/instagram/twitter algorithms.

I know we have a decent twtitter game, but I think we can get our youtube game together. Don't worry about supporting Youtube. In the end, this is going to help bring a shitload of people away from there and onto our platforms.

We could easily create a couple of small stars on those platforms which could reach a lot more people that we can bring over to Hive. In order for the network effect to work, we have to use our network to help our members be seen on other networks, then talk about our network casually, just mentioning it or leaving links. That will be enough.

Let's add, like and comment on each others videos, and if you don't make videos, add and comment on all the videos of Hive-based youtubers, and let's get the word out. Leave your youtube or other social media in the comments and let's get to it. Add, like, comment as much as you can, and help each other get seen.

Just imagine how much more powerful #posh will be when more of us have bigger followings off Hive. Just imagine how many more will come over here if 100 of us are well known in certain circles and promoting Hive through awesome content that we post both on and off the platform.

This is how we grow Hive.

The example I always like to give for a model of success is the Wu-Tang Clan... get a bunch of talented individuals together, and as they launch their solo careers, each album just makes the whole group bigger and bigger

I've been moving away from YouTube, Facebook and the mainstream social media. But people are welcome to check out my new podcast A Beautiful Thought. If you have a podcast we could do a trade - me on your show, you on my show.

That is a brilliant model. I think who you choose to work with is really important in a project like that though. I would like to do something like that though

Wow that bracelet though...
Man they really had some good stuff going on. I didn't realize that rizzah was such a business shark. Very cool

Great Idea man. It’s true we do have a bit of an insular community here.

Here’s my Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtJnPy_BDYtc25V1jf-9s-iH-s0dNNtcw

I’m in a weird place right now creatively (We have a house guest in a one bedroom apt) but August will be the beginning of a new project for me.

Also is the deadpost initiative not just for that gang you're in now? ;)

Deadpost is for everyone! Welcome.

And what's up with your creative state?

You don't promote at all do you? I can relate kind of

I don’t do any paid promotion.

I’m in a weird living situation atm and so we got stuck with a house guest for a couple months. It’s tough to do any recording in a 1 bedroom apt with 3 people in it. So I’ve been writing stuff and compiling old work and whatnot.

i don't mean paid promotion, do you try to show your music to people or invite people to watch or listen and stuff like that? I find that interacting with people more gets them more interested in what im doing which makes sense. I really don't like doing that before because it felt like a scam, but then I realized I like interacting with people as long as I got good at filtering out the ones who I didn't vibe with.

You are so talented. I wish more people heard your music. I think it's just a matter of staying in peoples minds when we all have such short attention spans

what is your upcoming project??

Thanks very much for that. I do interact as much as i can on here, not really on youtube or anywhere else though.

I have realized that I really hit a creative flow first thing in the morning. If I start writing as soon as I wake up I really like what comes out. Also I don’t have the means to produce anything really finished or polished sounding.

So my next endeavor involves writing and recording a song first thing in the morning with video. Probably a lot of live looping stuff, maybe some straight ahead man and guitar, maybe some multitracking. Maybe eventually start live streaming it if i have the means. Probably not every morning but as often as possible. Maybe every other day and then produce it the next day. I’m going to call it something like “morning monologues” or “morning musings” something cheesy like that ;)

This is my channel. Kids like when I sing.

I started an original music channel before covid, supporting local musicians to record. Things are just about kicking in to gear again now so there should be some more content coming soonish https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsqYqblM1K47y8_fR4kzYsA
I dont think Ive mentioned much crypto related stuff on it, but theres no reason why I shouldnt be able to start feeding that in a bit

Nice, I just stopped consuming any kind of youtube content two weeks ago. Lockdown made me too addicted to youtube.

Now, I have only two source of being social. Hive and twitter. I feel these two platform are better than others. But Promoting hive content on any other platform is always good.

That's a good goal! I did that for a while but eventually I changed it to no youtubeing without a purpose. So I don't click recommended videos anymore unless I have decided from the beginning that "I am going to stretch while I watch YouTube for 10 more minutes. And I stick to that

That's a good set of rules too. Guess we both push for improvement.
