The Narrows in Motion (6 Pics)

Gotta love the nice flowing water shots down a beautiful canyon... specially as one as nice as this one.

Recently did a hike up the Narrows in Zion National Park with my sister @sjarvie5
I've done this hike I think 5-6 times but I think this was the time I had the most time to really focus on getting some awesome river shots. Usually i'm with groups that are in a bit of a time schedule or I happen to have a time schedule myself.

All the shots are taken with a semi-long shutter speed to be able to show the river with a sense of Movement.

I brought the big tripod with the panorama head so most of these shots are actually very large panorama images. The big tripod helped often as a walking stick and helped cut down the vibrations of the river rolling past the tripod.

The river was pretty high... in fact just a couple days before it was too high to legally enter but the CFM went down to like 110 or something like that so they opened it up which is great.

As you can see when we started the hike there was an amazing glow on the walls... sadly that was only at the beginning and end of the hike. Probably not the best of timing to leave at like 9am ... i think i'd start the hike sooner next time to be further up canyon during this nice light. But with the whole pandemic there were actually a lot less hikers than normal so it is nice to get the beginning of the hike as empty as this picture.

This is actually the area that is officially called "The narrows" or also known as "Wall Street" ... it is a pretty long hike and lighting was a bit hard ... so with being tired and not as inspired by the light we didn't focus as much on this area as we did the trip getting there and back.

And finally a vertical showing the river in motion but also focusing on the beautiful cliffs and peaks you can often see while hiking up the Narrows.

I have done the narrows 2 times. Love that hive. I need to do it again soon. Love seeing those pictures.

I usually have gone in the fall because it's the best... but spring was cool. Lots more water and therefore harder though.

YAY cool Narrows shots!

Beautiful photos of the river.

I've forgotten how beautiful it is. It's probably been 20 years.

These are some stunning images here. Love it. The angle you used to take these photos. And I love the vibrant editing. Very nice.
