Today I present myself to all of you, fellows Hivers, after a long absence for various reasons. My name is Óscar and my username is @oscarps. I was born and raised in an area in the north of Spain and currently reside in a region in the south of the country. I have been dedicated for a few years to photography, design and management in social networks. I started working on the net around 2007, with the first digital photography buying and selling websites. Later I began my participation in the management of artistic, photographic and editing communities within Google Plus, an activity that I maintained until its closure. At the same time, I began to publish photography on other exclusive websites of this art, until I reached Blockchain applications and platforms.

Back to Hive.

My first contacts with photography go back to my childhood, in my grandparents' house. There I found a box full of old photographs and my grandfather's old camera. Those images became a great treasure for me, and I never tired of classifying and arranging them as if they were a collection of stickers. I incorporated the photo camera into my favorite toys, although I did not see it as a toy but as an object to be discovered, with its different wheels, the lens that looked like an eye to me, and its interior that was a great mystery to me. Some time later, after a family trip, they bought me my first analog camera, a very simple Konika. To this day I still have that camera, which helped me so much in my first contacts with the world of photography.

A few years later, in my youth, some friends who were fond of photography and I would meet in an attic, where we had a small photographic laboratory and carried out our first tests and experiments with analog development, with a small film processing machine and an enlarger. The magic of the use of different chemical substances and paper, together with the environment of developing in the dark, with only a small red light, are some of the best memories I have of that time. Taking out the photographic paper and laying it out, seeing how the result was appearing depending on the drying, was a transcendental moment, long awaited and magical.
Some time later, I worked as an assistant in a photography shop that a relative had in the city, and that was dedicated to portraiture, wedding photography, communions and events and although I already had some slight notions, it was there where I really learned some photographic techniques. The appearance of the first digital devices began to completely change the world of photography, taking new directions in which I began to get involved.

I bought a first digital reflex camera, the Olympus E-410, with which I really started to capture those first images in a digital way and use the process having my first contacts with editing programs. At first, simple programs that I downloaded from Google, and that I was quickly squeezing and feeling somewhat limited by them. That was when I started working and studying the program that for me has become essential in my work: Photoshop.
When I began to feel that this first camera limited me in terms of its functions and use, I bought the camera that currently accompanies me, an all-rounder called Nikon D-7100, but I still use both, since the way of collecting light and type of sensors that these different brands have, makes me sometimes prefer to use one or the other, depending on what I see or suits me.

My type of photography is very variable and I adapt to many circumstances, although I must confess that I have my favorites. My favorites are reflections, backlighting or street art photography. It often happens that there are certain very purist photographic techniques, and I also like to play with them, to be able to break them to search for and experiment with new fields, and then proceed in the same way in my photographic edition. Throughout a day I see many photographs of all kinds as well as various devices, and I always learn something from all of them. My goal in the field of this image art is to have my own stamp that defines my attitude towards life and my artistic and personal vision of images.

Nice to see you again, old friend 😀

Hello, I really appreciate these words of support @erikah , they encourage me, a hug.

I have always loved your photos, from the early days of Tsu 🤗

Of course @erikah . Many years have passed since we met there, lol, after all the journey we've already had, I'm very happy to be able to contact you again and also enjoy your publications.

I believe it's been 6 years already and what a journey!

I'm very happy to be able to contact you again and also enjoy your publications.

Same here my friend 😀

Hello, Oscar @oscarps

This was such a great #introduceyourself post! It is interesting to see how you were first introduced to photography as a child, right from the beginning and you continue to evolve and grow to this day.

You have trained your eye, or perhaps your eye has trained you, but, it is easy to see the passion you feel through your images. I have watched you in awe for years now and never tire of seeing your pieces. Your talent has no limit.

Thank you for sharing your work!

Your words have moved me a lot. I think that eye is the one that has trained me, lol, it seems to have a life of its own and always looks at things that escape me. Big hug. @dswigle

That is quite an exceptional eye you have there. :) That is what helps you go in all directions and do so well.

Everybody needs one of those! I gladly take the hug! 😁 I wish you a nice evening, which is on its way! Keep cool, I see it is hot there too!
