Travelling and going on holiday in Covid times, with kids is a challenge and a mind breaker. But with the rules and still open borders its the only way to go and meet my parents three countries from mine. Like I said we thought about it long but decided to travel because its safe in the areas where we are going. So we are roadtripping by car, because we didn’t want to go on a plane to Italy. We booked the trip in 3 parts and this is the first hotel we booked.

Hotel Renissance, https://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/life-renaissance-new-concept.en.html?aid=311984;label=life-renaissance-new-concept-j0*PpuPDKEWED5T8DSLGKgS442564484381:pl:ta:p1:p2:ac:ap:neg:fi:tiaud-297601666555:kwd-767706552437:lp9063831:li:det:dm:ppccp=UmFuZG9tSVYkc2RlIyh9YcGt_tphEo8pAE6BwGOTZ3E;ws=&gclid=CjwKCAjw97P5BRBQEiwAGflV6bWLeBbm2JlAX1f9pZ1UvQTVUvDwtop8wzTrg0JID9qo6tq1Fl9xTBoCW9oQAvD_BwE

For us it was important to have an apartment because family rooms are not guaranteed in most hotel or bed and breakfasts and the youngest wants to be near us, and so we decided on a apartment. Just to be safe and we hit the jackpot with three queenside beds. And a great design in all thats in the apartment. When you ever go here go to this hotel. Bookings.com gave it a 9.5 I give it a 10.

Each unit or apartment has a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, a coffee machine, as well as a fridge and kettle. There is a seating and a dining area in all units. We brought some lavazza cups the brand my hubby drinks but there were cups in the kitchen as an extra service.

LIFE RENAISSANCE apartment - in Strasbourg on Place Kléber offers studios and apartments with free WiFi and air conditioning, and the view on the cathedral. We had great space and the WiFi, airco and Netflix were a super addition when travelling with kids in the screen era. And we got to work and blog aswell so the adults were not complaining either.

Top attractions Strasbourg Cathedral on 450 m, and we loved it and lit two vandals this morning for our passed lovedones. The 'Petite France the area on 450 m where we had breakfast ( petit dejeuner ) this morning and the Strasbourg History Museum on 550 m. We did see that but there was a line because only few people were allowed in at the same time so that we had to skip, but it has a very wellknown collection of art.

The Petite France District, Strasbourg city centre and Strasbourg Cathedral are 500 m away. The nearest airport is Strasbourg International Airport, 12 km from the property, but the clerk told us most guests now come by care cause of the covid-19 and flying fear. What's nearby?  Its on the Kléber Square, Near the famous Printemps Department Store and the wonderful Galeries Lafayette Strasbourg.

Strasbourg is the capital of Alsace, which is well known under the Dutch tourists and is a great destination for a short city trip, we are experiencing that ourselves, but when you ask around not a lot of friends visited this beautiful european gem. But thats unfounded, this is a city that’s great for history lovers and for the people that love architecture. Or for us as a first stop under way to other places.  Staying longer in Strasburg is certainly also possible as there is plenty to see in the regional capital and the surrounding towns.  Due to the hot weather and the forecast this week we decided to do the cultural one day and kids fun the next untill we arrive at grandma and granddads for our stay in Italy. A trip to multiple places is a adventure we like and the benefit is the kids see different cities growing up and being a parent I am so grateful we get to do this. They learn so much from these trips. Yes I am very proud we can do this.

We looked up some things we wanted to see but all have Covid rules we were surprised that all is allowed and the french people are so relaxed and nice. They were strickt on the mouthpieces insid all the restaurants etc in Strasbourg but that’s the same in the Netherlands. is known for the seat of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights.  With the boatbtrip we sailed next to it, and with the dutch speaking audio we learned all about the Germans and the french and its history. They were two busy countries in the 40s and 50sm but build an incredible nation after and we still have the benefits from a lot from that time. I love the leather business part and the building where the rooms were made to dry leather for bots, clothes and multiple other things.

Strasbourg has an attractive old center full of winding narrow streets, cozy terraces and bridges over the River. We had breakfast in a small restaurant, lunch on a terrace and yesterday dinner in the oldest building of Strasbourg. Tonight we haden’t decided and we were planning to walk and see. We spent a little time at ‘home’ this afternoon cause the heat is getting the kids but we have gotten sone tips from the landlady Virginie. Those little bridges connect the different parts of the city.  One of the most popular attractions is a round trip around the city center, which is a bit on an island.  But also now its very busy. We have a great apartment in the centre on the market place near the cathedral.

Grande Île is the historic city center of Strasbourg and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.  The historic core of the city is, as it were, on an island surrounded by the River Ill.  Through the centuries long struggle it is this part of the city where you will find the typical (mostly German) architectural style, with winding streets and small bridges that take you to and from the island.  The Neustadt, which is roughly located around Grande ÎIe, is also a German legacy with again very recognizable German features and architectural styles and design.  All this makes Strasbourg city center unique and worth a visit. You see the facwork house style where the wood is combined with the concrete and the old windows with stained glass.

The symbol of the city is the great Cathedral of Strasbourg (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg) which can be found in Grande Ill.  The Cathedral is regularly confused with the two-tiered Saint Paul's church found in the Neustadt, but the cathedral is easily recognized by its location and the fact that there is only one large tower.  In this beautiful cathedral are numerous stained glass windows and sculptures and a gigantic organ hanging in the center of the cathedral.

There is also an astronomical clock from the Renaissance period with a mechanism from 1842 that is still in operation and with many moving elements impressive to see.  According to some, this makes this cathedral one of the most beautiful in France.  In addition, the tower of the Notre-Dame Cathedral can be climbed via the 332 steps to the viewing platform, which gives you a panoramic view of the city on a beautiful day. The astronomical clock and the cathedral are free to visit.  Its 31 degrees celcius so that was not be included in the plans. A boat trip was enough. A cruise on the Ill should not be skipped when you are in Strasbourg.  It is not without reason one of the most popular activities in the city.  With the mouthpiece with airconditioning. During the cruise you get to see Strasbourg from a different perspective, and it was great.

We got a great tip from the reception and we went for a strole in the city and had a great dinner, and we had drinks near one of the famous bridges in this beautiful city. Tomorrow we are leaving this beautiful country from @barbera-orenya and @felt.buzz behind us and are leaving for another adventure in another country , I will Ofcourse keep you posted via my blogs.

See you tomorrow XO

What a wonderful place brit, I could tell the feeling of being outside and to have an awesome surrounding. I'm glad that you're going out now and escape the bad effect of this pandemic. I'm happy but then I'm sad because I'm jealous seeing a beautiful place like that. Just kidding, keep safe brit.🤗🤗

Great city to visit, been there on multiple occasions. I especially like the cathedral and its astronomical clock which is one of two in existence in all of Europe. Cheers!🙂

Been there of course

Amazing construct, yes?

Travel by waterway always gives a lovely view and feel of the history in an area floating slowly past the window. Most old cities started on the waterways giving you a real feel of a region.

Lovely accommodation you found being so central, noticed the children did not need to wear masks and eating house looked relaxed with everyone enjoying the outdoors.

On my slow connection could not link to where you posted from, so found this via PeakD enjoy your stay with your family!

That place is amazingly beautiful @brittandjosie! What a history it has as well, and I hope you are all having a blast.
Be safe!

Nice holiday trip, I hope you will enjoy all of your time, big hugs
