I'm back with a new mural to enter this week's CCC Street Art Contest #91! And this time it's NOT from Crestline, where all the wall paintings are rather tame in comparison, very touristic, and frankly plain boring. Instead this is the wall of a mini mart in San Bernardino, more specifically in the "town" of Muscoy, on Macy Street, close to where it meets Porter Street. Though it is just down the hill from Crestline, the place looks and feels much more urban, as you can probably tell from the image.
Surrounding the stylized lettering of Macy Mini Mart (honestly, could you decipher the word if you didn't know what it said? I know I couldn't!) are a few weird looking characters, possibly representing the clientele of the place. Local kids hanging out and wasting time, mediocre businessmen trying to forget a deal that fell through, and your friendly hoods making sure that everything is running smoothly.
The other side of the convenience store has another interesting message painted in impressive letters: Long Love Ape. I'm not sure about the sac part, but it looks like it's related to money: big stacks and bags of dollars (yeah)! The artist, by the way, seems to be a certain Sparet, as the letters in the top left corner suggest.
The Gifted is up to date with facemask and expression that says it all, followed with Long Live Ape quite apt 😅
Oh, it's a Covid mask...! And I figured him to be some kind of pandillero thug of sorts...

Hell ya, that's my hood! I'm way up on 3rd ave though so I usually hit up Norms or the Triple 7 liquor. lol.
Sorry man, I'm no that well versed in that area. I'm up in Crestline these days, coming only once a week down the hill for groceries. (Not at the Mini Mart either, I just saw the mural passing by.)
