had to happen

Weather was not to bad for a change on Monday and Tuesday, but of course things could not stay that way.

I was hopping we would make it past humpday, but no, Some time after I went to sleep in very early wee hours of Wednesday, it started to snow, it must have been a lot and pretty heavy wet stuff because about 3:30am I was awakened to the sound of 'Pahlump' as snow slid off from the roof. Well there was no real snow up there on Tuesday, but being as sleepy as I was, it was roll over and back to sleep.

In the morning after my eyes were able to focus, they noted about five inches of pretty wet and heavy looking snow. It was pretty warm 28 degrees Fahrenheit, (minus 2.2 Celsius). So it was have a little cup of coffee to wake up and then after only an hour of being awake, out to clear the car of snow, just in case the plow guy showed up. He did. Just after we managed to finish breakfast.

A lot of snow the second half of the season. Winter did not start out to bad at all, no significant snows until winter solstice. Most of our snow has been in February and now in March, unusual to say the least.

It has actually been a mild winter, as far as I recall no zero or below zero days, coldest day was just a few days ago, (Monday), with a temperature of only 5F/-15C. Break up will be fast and hard I think, there is no real ice, so a couple of warm days and there will be a heck of a lot of snow melt. To be honest I am looking forward to the street puddles, not the soft driveway, but we will deal with that if it happens.

The plow guy showed up just about noon. I thought I would surf around Hive, do a bit of voting and then some game playing, then get around to my driveway pictures and this post. Well by the time I turned around and looked out the window it was snowing, by 4:30 we already had another inch of snow, and it is still snowing. So I got a few quick smart phone pictures and decided to go with what I got.

In the fallen snow first up the growing pile in front of where I park:

Here is view looking out from where I park:

The circular Island of trees:
Tree IslandI really don't like snow, so that was the furthest I walked so the picture is not that great and completely unedited. Both sides of the drive around the trees is getting real thin.

A simple view of the plowed edge where the snow is not all piled up.

And of course the tracks of my journey into the falling snow:

Snow tracks I really am not much of a fan of snow, but after 2020, I am kind of glad I am where I am.

The title "had to happen", we have been lucky in our snow fall, this is the first time that it has started to snow almost right after the snow plow guy left I do not know how much more we will get, but this snow is a lot different than the morning snow. It is a fine dry powder. It could change to liquid drizzle which would really make a mess of things, but we are pretty stocked up, and if we have to, we will just stay indoors and not risk the roads in these conditions.

Yeah I agree snows a pain in the ass, but at least the seasons nearly over. Been reading your posts and keeping an eye on your feed. Looks pretty damn cold, Its Rain here for the next week, not sure if I prefer the snow. Keep Warm springs a comin.

We have had what seems to be an odd winter. We finally got out minus temperatures, -1F on Thursday, and minus 6F today. (-18C to -21C). not a normal March that I recall.
