Saturday Aftermath

Well March is certainly marching in like the proverbial lion this year. It started snowing again on late Friday afternoon/early evening. It was not big just very small fine snow particles to begin with, then some dry soft fluffy flakes and back to the tiny dust size snow. Overnight it must have really snowed.

It was not very cold about 15 degrees Fahrenheit, and we generally do not get the very fine snow at those temps. over night it continued to warm and we awoke with about eight inches of fresh snow. It was pretty light weight so no problem with removing it from the car, but still it was not fun.

The pictures are from my smart phone and are somewhat different than my normal picture line up.

The Burn Barrel
I do not think I have shown this. that is a 55 gallon oil barrel that was converted to a burn barrel. In Texas it would have been made into a BBQ, and in Jamaica into a couple of Tin Drums. Pretty versatile object. You can see how deep the snow is the top is barely viable.

Door Markings
Those are from opening the door to get in, after getting in I closed the door pulled slightly forward and then re-opened the door and took the picture. My parking spot is getting pretty tight.

The Windshield View
Semi deceiving, but it is a pretty big pile of snow, probably on the order of seven feet or so.

Secondary Parking spot view from the Drivers Window
My going out part of the driveway is still pretty wide but things are closing in.

The Tree Stand
Poor trees are really getting snow mounded, The right side drive is the way out, the left I use for the way in. I did leave today by the left hand side of the trees though.

In and Out part of the driveway
Things, as mentioned above, are getting a bit tight for this part of the driveway, Here is what the road out front looks like. It has not been plowed yet being what they consider a tertiary road it most like wont be until Monday before they get to it.
The Road to HomeA lot of snow still there. We are pretty lucky in that we do have a lot of careful drivers and they do slow down to pass by, right now it is hard to tell where the real edge of the road is and the ditch begins so we all kind of hold to the middle of the road.

Secondary road

The secondary road is not in to bad of shape, but they only have the two passes on the road and the edges need to be pushed back a little bit more

Over all, other than having to clear the snow from the car,it didn't end up being to bad of a day. Temperatures ranged from 20F to 32F, (-6C to 0C) the snow stopped about noon, the sun came out and the plow guy surprisingly showed up. Even though I cleared the snow off of the car I really was not expecting him today, but his timing was good, we have places to go, people to see and shopping to be done on our funday Sunday.

Our Winter Wonderland
The view from looking out behind the parking area. It will warm up, it will make a mess, the driveway will get soft, and hopefully the new oil delivery person when meltdown does get here will pass us by and not destroy our driveway.

Hopefully the snow is done, but you just never know when you live in the North.

Oh! My! You need a skimobile!

Lots of them up here. I did ride a few times when I was younger, but the digging out from being stuck some times sucked.

Oh! Dear! Digging out of snow is no fun at all! Then, you need a one-seated drone!! Get it! I’d like to see you riding on one! Hahaha.

Snow looks good in Alaska.. we don't want it down here...😜

We are pretty tired of it up here too, I want Spring.

The scenery and photos are beautiful @bashadow!! That is a lot of snow! I think the most that I've ever seen here in my lifetime was two back to back two footers. I don't mind it so much if I don't have to go out in it but it is pretty to see! 💖

It has been a pretty amazing winter for us. I do not think we had a single day below zero. Feb. was just full of snow, and March is beginning that way also, but do have sunshine now, and got to a blistering 36 degrees today, so maybe, just maybe Spring is on it's way.

The season started off weird but has really picked up for you guys in the end. What a beautiful mess! Best wishes with the thaw out that is sure to come. We will see some 60's this week! So Excited 😁

It has been a strange winter for us. Yesterday was one of the coldest days we had all winter, (at least number wise I saw), it was only 5 degrees. Still not gonna complain about a lack of below zero days.
