Hello to all the friends and cat lovers of @caturday!
Sometimes I've stared at my cats sleeping, and I can't help but smile tenderly. There's something deeply curious, almost magical, about the impossible positions they adopt when they drift off to sleep. They twist, bend, curl into a perfect little ball, or stretch out with a tranquility I envy.
It's as if the world had no weight on their bodies. As if all the turmoil in the world didn't have the slightest importance. As if their only concern was finding the most absurd, funny, or vulnerable way to rest. And they succeed.
I find them with their heads hanging to one side and their hind legs pointing in the opposite direction, as if they had no bones. Sometimes, they flatten themselves against the ground with their legs spread like a frog, and other times, they curl up so tightly that their nose touches their belly, all wrapped up in their tail, like furry origami.
It makes me laugh, but it also moves me, because there's absolute trust in that abandonment. To sleep like that, so casually, you have to feel safe. And knowing that they feel safe by my side touches me deeply.
I wonder what they feel when they sleep. Do they dream of hunting? Of rolling in the sun? There's something childlike about that way they fall asleep, so carefree, as if the whole world could collapse around them and they'd still be there, belly exposed, purring even in their sleep. And it makes me want to enter that same state, to leave behind the rigidity that adult life sometimes imposes on me, to surrender with the same faith to a guilt-free, unhurried nap.
I find it so curious that something so simple—sleep—is, for them, a form of art, of endurance, of play, even of love. Because when they settle in beside me, pressing their warm bodies against mine, in some unlikely position, I feel that their way of sleeping is also their way of saying: I feel good here. And in that moment, all the chaos of the world calms down a little.
It's strange how such tiny creatures can teach me so much just by closing their eyes and letting go.
I hope everyone has a week filled with blessings and love from their pets.

A veces me he quedado mirando a mis gatos dormir, y no puedo evitar sonreír con ternura.
