How's going? Vacation? Work? Both?
I have here two Croatian beers to taste and, of course, outside is very hot and the beers are very cold.
I have to hurry so they don't get hot :) 😎

Fulir craft pilsener

Fulir craft pilsener is brewed by smal independent brewery Pivionica, from Zagreb, Croatia.
The website repeatedly mentions that they are independent. Who cares? Is the beer better because of that? Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.8% ABV.

Beer is clear yellow, medium foam. The sip flows smoothly down the throat, a medium bitter, a very good taste of hops and malt, no acidity, in the background discrete aromas of herbs.
Drinkable, actually, very drinkable. I would like another one right away, but I have one bottle, only.

Grička Vještica

Grička Vještica (engl. Grich Witch) is probably named after a popular series of novels about witch hunts and witch-burning on stakes by writer Marija Juric Zagorka.
Brewed by microbrewery Pivovara Medvedgrad, Zagreb, Croatia. I’ve tried a few good beers from this brewery, Fakin IPA and Baltazar, just for example.
Strong, dark beer, they say, doppelbock style, bottle 0.5 l, alcohol 7.8% ABV.

The beer is light brown with a thick foam. The first sip was sour, too sour, for my taste. Very little bitterness and it barely went down my throat. I was expecting more caramel, chocolate, or coffee flavors.
Although many people praise this beer as amazing and the best of the Medvedgrad brewery, I didn't like it. Too sour, maybe spoiled? That happens, too. Otherwise, I didn’t have any stomach problems even though I emptied the whole bottle. Next time, if I come across this beer, I will drink more carefully.
